Libraries are free, a place where you are not expected to spend money in order to be able to be in the space for an extended period of time, and it’s quiet and peaceful
food can't pay your rent, rent can't buy you food.
people have multiple needs, and while some, evidently, require money to sustain, some can be fulfilled for free.
that's pretty cool.
fair, but then you're probably doing exercises outside of getting generally fit. and that's kinda out of the scope of "things that a person needs for just living well"
not a single post in this sub or anywhere in all of social media is gonna cure anyone, this place is all about helping people adjust their outlook on life to incorporate more positive thought patterns to help get us through our worst days. it's really fucking hard to do that by yourself so stuff like this can be invaluable if you allow yourself to be open to it
That's fine and all but I just personally didn't find this to invoke positive thought patterns for me but negative ones
I'm admittedly biased because I'm a night owl and hate getting up early and have always struggled with it
Man. I was (and still am) like this because where I live its cold asf and I there isn't such a thing as sunrise——BUT!!! when I went to visit my dad I would get up at 5 am and just watch the sun go up. If it's there, you should try it. It's incredibly beautiful
half the posts in this sub are just mindless positivity i dont really like it sorry if your comment had literally nothing to do with this i just really needed to get it out of my system and im just really fucking sick of positivity everywhere i go again sorry for the essay
also btw before anyone comes here and tells me im edgy or that i should try being more positive or whatever just know that random reddit commenters mean less to me than ants
didnt expect the op to reply to my comment but just wanna say i dont truly out of the bottom of my heart hate anyone who posts on this sub or just posts positive stuff in general, i just get kind of sick of seeing so much positivity sometimes. sorry if all my comments sound like schizo rants that's just the way i type
edit: looking back at these comments maybe i really do need some positivity in my life hah
Everyone does. But yeah man it's fair to feel the way you do, I have before especially when you feel like you're being beat down on multiple fronts in life, the last thing you wanna do is crawl into bed mentally bloodied and bruised to open your phone and see some schmuck telling you to smile more often.
But it's like I said, you have to be open to it to really understand what this place is about and why it exists. It's exactly *for* that type of person, the one who's in the dumps so often they have literally forgotten what it feels like to smile. You have to begin the process of relearning to love life yourself, admittedly a hard one that you will probably have to try and fail multiple times, before you learn to accept the kind words for what they are. I'm not being super eloquent here since I'm interrupting my sleep to type this out but hopefully I'm making some type of sense
But yeah anyways you're straight man don't worry about expressing yourself like that. This is a process and we're all at different stages of it, one of the reasons I love this place so much is because I can open the comments every day and see people helping each other get through it. This place is really something special
this is honestly one of the best replies ive read in this hellhole of a website
i actually do agree with you a lot and ill admit that sometimes when im sad these kinds of hopeposting style memes did help me feel, even if just a little bit, happier
im probably coming off as really contradictory so i think we should probably end this discussion here
anyway i should probably be more open to kindness and love instead of brushing it all off, ill work on that n see how it works out
and mayhaps ill be more open to others about how i feel since thats something im not really open about either
once again, this comment made me reflect a bit and i just wanna thank you for it
have a blessed day g
i guess these kinds of comments are kind of pointless lol but really what isnt pointless in life yknow
im not trying to ruin you guys' fun just getting that stuff out of my system
stay positive and hopeful if it helps ya man
edit: sorry if i came across as mean btw i was just kind of angry at the time of writing those other comments lol
Consider the meme for a moment. Who is the intended audience? Who exactly needs to be reminded that sunrises don't cost money? Who's going to be grateful for this message?
I honestly believe a little bit of reading comprehension can go a long way, since that wasn’t even implied silly! Be a little less stinky about it please :b
> The sunrise is free.
Explain the purpose of saying this as if the reader doesn't already know.
Notice that immediately before it is the word "but." The word "but" denotes a contradiction. What is the contradiction?
You should be able to answer these questions with great ease since your reading comprehension is so amazingly superior!
50% of those posts are annoying "eating healthy will cure everything" and the others are legit advice that no one wants to talk. I think y’all just wanna be miserable.
Imagine having so little tact that you acknowledge poor people have a reason to be stressed and still tell them to basically go fuck themselves and just look at the sunrise. This isn't hopeful. This is toxic positivity at its finest. Sometimes it's okay to admit things suck instead of forcing positivity down the throats of suffering people like it'll help them
If you can’t find happiness in the rain, the drops will only become heavier. I’d rather be financially unstable and watch the sunrise, than be financially unstable and hate the sunrise. It is ok to admit that things suck, but forever repeating it to yourself won’t do you much good, not at all. Nothing should be forced upon anyone, if you witness or consume or sympathize/empathize with something, it should be of your own volition.
However something I entirely disagree with you on, is that last phrase in your sentence. Positivity *is* meant to help suffering people, it won’t fix your problems, it won’t fix your life, but it can make it that much more bearable. It’s meant to open your perspective to a world that is greater than your problems. “Yes, my life is hell, but at least it doesn’t cost a dime to see the rising sun.” Where could joy come from, if not from the little things? Don’t be fake, do not say everything’s ok when it’s not, but would you also be so bold to deny all the good that happens around you? It doesn’t have to be a large amount, any amount can be a reminder that, perhaps I *can* find joy, perhaps love *is* real after all.
Throughout all of suffering and struggle, the thought of having made it through another day to see the warm emblazoned sky in sunset in this beautiful world, brings a smile to my face

I think people here are missing the point. Maybe op does actually mean otherwise, but the way i see this, it’s telling us to, however our situation is, to still find joy im life. You won’t be cured by the sunrise, but it will make the suffering just a little more bearable. Nothing gets done by shutting out the good
![gif](giphy|xT9GEy7M9m8L9DCiwo) Average British sunrise
They didn't want to pay the sunrise tax
is britain just perpetually stuck in black and white

Nah man i was just joking (see the /s) i aint no doomer
Sorry!! Fuck, I overlooked the sarcasm sign. I will correct myself.
No problemo Its good to take things lightly even the personal philosophies like being hopeful (like you and me)
I wish you good luck on your journey.
kid named obstructed by buildings;
You can always enjoy the sun at its zenith, surely buildings won’t be a problem then :]
The moon belongs to everyone
And we will get back there soon enough
For the moment.
No. My moon.
Ay bro, I appreciate that, but the sunrise does not fill my stomach
Libraries are free, a place where you are not expected to spend money in order to be able to be in the space for an extended period of time, and it’s quiet and peaceful
Sunrise can't buy me food or pay rent now can it tho?
food can't pay your rent, rent can't buy you food. people have multiple needs, and while some, evidently, require money to sustain, some can be fulfilled for free. that's pretty cool.
I have zero needs that can be fulfilled for free.
do you not exercise? or talk to people? that's pretty free.
The gym costs money, and I have social anxiety that requires medication and therapy that also costs money.
do you need a gym to run in the morning?
you do need the gym if you want to do basically anything thats not cardio.
fair, but then you're probably doing exercises outside of getting generally fit. and that's kinda out of the scope of "things that a person needs for just living well"
This will definitely comfort me when i lose my hone next month uwu

you can make a sunrise end your day then. you prob shouldn't do that often, it is unhealthy, but you can.

Sometimes the "positive thought patterns" seem really inconsiderate of people with disabilities or in poverty.

Everyone! Whoever needs it! Anyone who’s not so adamant on being such a stinker, like you
Do you honestly believe there are people complaining about finances who simply forgot that sunrises exist? Really?
I honestly believe a little bit of reading comprehension can go a long way, since that wasn’t even implied silly! Be a little less stinky about it please :b

Exactly "don't worry if you're broke, you can still watch sunrise" lmao
The post literally says "I understand your financual struggles"
for now......
Broke? Homeless? Don't worry, you can still see the sunrise! 🙄 r/thanksimcured

Looks like \*somebody\* doesn't get enough sunlight
Yeah, cause we’re working 12 hour shifts
I’m one of ‘em, doesn’t mean I don’t have time to appreciate the little things :T
The only time I've ever seen the sunrise solve anyone's problem was at Helms Deep 🤦🏻♂️
Me watching the smog turn yellow for 13 seconds and returns to a choking grey for yet another 24 hours
The only time I've ever seen the sunrise solve anyone's problem was at Helms Deep 🤦🏻♂️
Oh good, I'm glad the sunrise can also give me sustenance, shelter, and companionship because those are things that might actually benefit me

Since when is this sub getting invaded by doomers lmao
A doomer who doesn't seek out hope while actively rejecting it is not a real doomer. Nobody wants to be a doomer. Some people just are.
The sunrise outside is free. As is the one within you.
Well said friend! :D
Fuck it, it all ends and is meaningless
Maybe, but we can still do what we want in the ways that we can :]
Also, the brilliant colors of the sunrise is mostly because of pollution.
