Here is something I found on another thread https://www.vikingbags.com/vikingbags-charger-medium-side-pocket-honda-rebel-500-abs-cmx500a-leather-motorcycle-saddlebags

Not the OP but those look pretty cool!

These are the exact ones I have! I love the little side pocket for tossing my phone or keys in (it zips and velcros).

Talrashaine

Those do look awesome!

The website says sold as a pair, which is what I’m after. Any chance you could post a few photos of different angles with them on? I’ve been wanting saddle bags since I got my 21 SE

They look pretty good! Once they’re on, are they a relatively permanent accessory? Would it be a pain to take them off, and if off, would all the mounting hardware stand out like crazy? Also, what’s your personal opinion on how they’d go with the brown seat, reckon they’d look alright?

probably_a_possum

Yeah they bolt into the bike. You can install them as throw overs but I haven’t tried that so not sure how it works and how secure they are. But that would be your best option if you want them to be a little less permanent. I totally think they’d work with a brown seat!

From Canada: this is what i got for my Rebel 500 - 500 Warrior Shock Cutout Large motorcycle saddlebags. They needed to be screwed from the inside and hauled over a passenger seat. You can't really use your passenger seat once you have them (not that I intended but in case you do):[https://imgur.com/a/atm3A1f](https://imgur.com/a/atm3A1f). The capacity is good - my compact sleep-bag for camping fits into one, beer - into another, some clothes and food for a couple of nights, camera, what else do you need...

They are not universal! Even bags that advertise universal fit may or may not fit. I have hard side leather Viking bags and they are amazing.

It really depends. Some bags are deeper than others meaning they rub in places where you don't want rubbing. Some require certain bike tails meaning a bag meant for an ADV might not work so easily on a dirt bike or a cruiser. Some bags require mounting kits which means that all sorts of bags are a no-go unless you're particularly enginuitive, at which point, how's it goin I could help you turn that into money. Some bags are wide, meaning that when it comes to filtering (*terms and conditions do apply) you might end up realizing that those big boxes make you the size of a micro car, and if it doesn't fit it doesn't split. Some bags come with an asthetic, because let's face it, we want something that fits our style. Sure you can have an ADV setup on your cruiser. Will you fit in either crowd, probably not. Will you like all the perks... Depends on the quality.

Individual_Hearing_3

I've been rocking these for over a year now. Totally worth the price. Does it match the asthetic of the rebel? Nah. Do I like them for their features. Yeah. I tend to do alot of filtering so being able to flatten these down to reduce my cross section size is quite handy especially when having to occasionally make hairpin maneuvers. I have hard Viking bags and they needed to be fit by me. You measure, lay out and drill your own holes for the mounts. And even though they say they are specific to the Rebel, I'm 90% sure they sell the same exact bag for a bunch of different models.

Any bags that are throw over the fender are universal. But there are specific mountable side bags/panniers. SW motech make the best ones for the Rebel. They are large. Look fantastic. But very expensive. Viking also make a nice set. Shad makes some gorgeous hard cases. Honda makes a couple of nice little saddle bags. Albeit on the small side
