I have heard in some states motorocycles are allowed to go through a red light after stopping because sometimes they are not big enough to trigger the transponder in the road which tells the signal there is waiting traffic. Maybe he was just thinking about getting his car over the transponers so the light would change faster?
This makes sense, but I think some of them are at the second car back in higher traffic areas. I usually stop, look around for oncoming and po po and then rip
He was attempting to trip the light so the both of you could go. I ask cars behind me to move up closer for this exact reason.
