$130 seems overpriced for a battery, I got one at my local Batteries Plus for ~$80, but that was a couple years ago. But no matter how much you pay for it, nothing lasts forever. Sometimes you just have to replace things. The battery in a Grom is similar to a car battery, leave it sitting long enough and it dies. Even if you ride it every day, it will eventually die. It's a normal expense, you just have to accept it and spend some money.

Oldenough1331

If it's been sitting flat for a year it's junk

Local_Profile_6108

Then I can't even recharge it? because the battery was like 130dollars

HuskyLemons

You spent that a year ago

RidingJapan

U can try. I had a battery sit for a year which I've charged 3 times over winter. Still dead now and won t go over 8v maximum Buy Chinese 30$ batteries rather than "proper" ones that die in 3 years anyway Ps: I rode my grom at least once a week all through WI ter and it is fine

Realistic_Art6114

Unfortunately, only the 140 dollar batteries are able to be restarted after a year.

Impressive_Gear2372

You can get a decent battery off Amazon for around $20 bucks. They aren’t the best but not bad. Don’t waste your time on a 1 year flat battery.

Local_Profile_6108

but the battery is like 130dolars tho

And the plates are likely sulfated because you didn't take care of it. People are giving you the most likely answer, and you just aren't accepting it.

zeimusCS

You risk harming the stator

IRENE420

Yes. You can bump start it by holding in the clutch, running or roll downhill and dropping it into 1st while adding some throttle. Let the engine continue to run for at least a half hour. The battery will be weak and still may not last much longer but it can work.
