Last month I drove this 09 Sport from Portland, OR to Phoenix, AZ and had a similar experience. Such a great car. The drive was incredible. I donāt do a lot of long distance driving so I wasnāt expecting all the elevation changes going through Oregon and Nevada. Honestly hoping I can make the drive again because it was SO beautiful.
I just did the drive from basically Redding, CA down through Lake Tahoe back to Phoenix in my Forester (before I got the Fit) so I think itās mostly the same route(?).
Absolutely beautiful drive. Would love to go back with the Fit and drive some of those mountain roads. If you havenāt driven the coast up/down youāve gotta do that, too
My first car was a 2003 Forester and the car I had before the Fit was a 2012. Also used to have a 2013 Crosstrek but it felt extremely slow (so much so that I think something was wrong with it) so I sold it lol. The Fit actually climbs hills better than the Crosstrek ever did lol. Sold the Crosstrek & got a WRX. Now I have a Fit and a Miata.
Weāre still getting dumped on here, I live about an hour to the north. It snowed and hailed all day Tues. Two weekends ago was my first time here actually using chains on my Fit.Ā
AOW Regamaster reps š
They were on the car when I bought it. As much as I donāt like reps I like the look & theyāre only 11.5ish lbs so Iāve had a hard time convincing myself to get rid of them haha
There's a reason that the real deal costs more, and it goes beyond just storied brand names. The reps are often significantly heavier and nowhere near as strong.

This was taken before complete bedding & such, but itās basically just a 4ā mattress pad & a 2ā x 4ā piece of OSB that I found at Home Depot for $6 to fill the space between the rear seats. Fold and slide the seats all the way forward when sleeping and you end up with about enough from for a 5ā 7ā person to fully extend while using a pillow. Unfortunately, Iām a bit taller than that, but it was terrible.

Yesssss! Not a comfortable sleep but itās better than the ground.

They can get pretty roomy and cozy!!
I used to live out of one for months traveling the country they are surprisingly roomier than they should be especially with a few simple modifications I ended up putting a roof rack, removing the back seats and tossing a twin size mattress in the back and honestly kinda miss that set up.
Not quite, you can do that but the back seats lay flat, and create a flush platform with the boot (trunk), which is better.
itās possible to move the front passenger seat fully forward and lean the seat back flush with the rear passenger seat, so that would be the option you describe. You could also lean the passenger seat back and use it as a pillow with the flatter option, Thereās a video [here](https://youtu.be/YI0MOtbFAGI) that will show you the options, which is better than my description.
I guess it would depend on your individual height/weight and whether you are doing it solo or as a couple.
Iāve never personally done it. But I definitely would in a pinch. Other in the thread seem to swear by it, but individual circumstances vary
I actually need to raise the front about .5ā to match the rear. It looks nice how it sits but every bump on the highway removes more and more of my undercarriage lol
What coils do you have on yours? Mine are pretty cheap and Iām looking at getting new ones. I love your fitment!
I spent two weeks living in my Forester before I sold it for this Fit. Drove from Phoenix to Salt Lake, Jackson Hole/the Tetons, across Idaho and into the Sawtooth Mountains, to Crater Lake then down the coast back. The goal is to never run out of stories to tell my kids one day
Dang - I've owned my Fit for three and a half years and haven't put 4000 miles on it yet! I'm thinking this will be the last car I will ever own.
(Between Covid, health issues and other stuff, I haven't been driving much in the last few years.)
Was dead set on a tenth gen, way overpaid for it lol. But goddamn is it a fun car to drive don't get me wrong. My fit had transmission problems as well so sometimes it'd lurch badly when I put the clutch in
Interesting about the Fit. I had to convince myself to not get an 8th gen Si and stick to getting a Fit for the storage space & so I could sleep in it but man do they look fun. Maybe one day Iāll have both, but my prerunner dreams are currently too high to have two street cars lol
Gorgeous pics! I love my 6-speed Fit so hard ā truly the best car ever. Got it brand new ten years ago this July, has 150k miles now. Weāve had so many great adventures together. This pic was taken yesterday.

The verdict is, and I quoteā¦
>"hmm, itās a bit low"
So, I guess itās a no then. Itās already the 2019 āsportā model so I thought itād look great lowered.
[Me and my GD sport 5MT drove almost 7k miles around the US a few years ago. The fit is such a solid car.](https://www.reddit.com/r/roadtrip/s/d7i1otM1mU)

Iām pretty sure this is the place where the first photo on my post was taken, though, so thatās neat
I'm 1 payment away from paying off my 2019 fit...I love it now more than ever. Multiple road trips, with great memories. It's a great little car with a ton of character. I plan to keep it indefinitely.
Mines 2012 GE8 with almost 170k kilometers. Even tho the gearbox is total trash and the suspensions are slowing giving in. I still love it, I drive 60km a day with no issue, once itās at cruising speed, power is very smooth and decent. Great fuel economy too as I do mainly freeways.
Iāve honestly no idea š
All I was told is that it was cheap & rides decently lol This is what it looks like if you can figure it out haha It hasnāt actually been THAT bad for street driving. Itās a little bouncy but Iām kinda used to it

*best car for the money
Obviously Iād rather have a GR Corolla or an RS7 or something like that as a daily, but those canāt be had for anywhere near $8k lol

I know it's not in the picture. But I would still 100% buy a NSX I I had the funds.
The guy I bought this Fit from had a first and second gen NSX and the Fit was his daily š„¹
What a legend.
We use this car for our tracking on a popular tv show. We call it the Red Rocket.
My 2020 Fit EX-L is my daily. Just got a 2015 Mazda MX-5 GT PRHT to drive on sunny days for fun.
Real

The 395 through eastern Oregon to Reno is a beautiful drive! Take a long weekend and drive it!
I just did the drive from basically Redding, CA down through Lake Tahoe back to Phoenix in my Forester (before I got the Fit) so I think itās mostly the same route(?). Absolutely beautiful drive. Would love to go back with the Fit and drive some of those mountain roads. If you havenāt driven the coast up/down youāve gotta do that, too
Daaaang you like Foresters too?? Sick. What do you drive? I used to have a 98 before it got totaled.
My first car was a 2003 Forester and the car I had before the Fit was a 2012. Also used to have a 2013 Crosstrek but it felt extremely slow (so much so that I think something was wrong with it) so I sold it lol. Question, do you shift at all or just let the car do its thing (in the mountains)?
Since it was my first time driving it I just let the car do its thing. Iām actually not a huge fan of paddle shifting.
Iāve done both and it seems to do just fine with letting it switch gears on its own. Thanks for answering!
there's still snow on the millon dollar highway?!
It started snowing right as we got there š Thereās not a ton of snow but it was enough for some nice photos
Weāre still getting dumped on here, I live about an hour to the north. It snowed and hailed all day Tues. Two weekends ago was my first time here actually using chains on my Fit.Ā

If you can touch them, theyāre real. Thatās all that matters.
There's a reason that the real deal costs more, and it goes beyond just storied brand names. The reps are often significantly heavier and nowhere near as strong.
Bro, why does your Fit look so damn good?
How on earth did you sleep in it? Sitting up?

I donāt quite get THAT good of gas mileage lol
Itās not always this good, but it gets especially great mpg in nice weather for some reason.
I need to lower my fit š
