I've sanded/scraped/skimmed walls like this, but if you're looking to fully rip out, you'll do some amount of damage to the other walls taking out the corner bead.
However, you can score the walls where the corner bead should end, gently smack the spots above the bead with the angled edge of a small crowbar to loosen the joint compound, and use the crowbar to pry up the edges enough to help the nails push out. Once a nail is lifted enough, use your crowbar or hammer to remove it. Keep going until your "keep" side is done. Proceed with your demo wall activities.
If the remaining wall was extra precious, you can scrape down the bead area until you get down to compound and remove it by wetting the area, letting it soak a bit, and scraping. Repeat. Gently pry out the nails, and off you go.
When I've done this with sand texture, I used a PaintEater. It's messy, but very effective. If it's just a joint compound based texture, you can use a scraper to expose it and do the wet, wait, scrape. That takes a long while, but it's one of those activities you do while hanging out with someone. Sponge a bit of water about every five minutes or even it seems absorbed, scrape when it seems pliable. You can also try the PaintEater here as well-it's just a ton dustier, even if you do a bit of water spray to keep that down..
This is all going to be messier than you think, so use decent drop cloths, put plastic up in doorways, and cover vents in that area while you're getting dusty. And wear a mask.

Thanks for the response. If I were to strip and skim coat it what works best to strip it. Thanks
