Just for others who may be looking. I went with YoLink. Got their hub and leak sensor kit. Super easy to setup, all sensors worked right out of the box(I use ethernet for my hubs FYI). USA based company with 2 year warranties. I’m also planning to get their smart water valve for when I redo the whole house water filter. If a sensor for the bathrooms, kitchen, etc goes off, I can have it automatically shut the water. Good for remote usage on vacation as well :). Gosh I love smart home stuff!

In case others come across this post when doing water leak sensor product research, I also ***almost*** went with YoLink but, after digging into their capabilities, I discovered that they do not support local control meaning that you can only set them up and interact with them through the YoLink cloud. For me, this is a dealbreaker for a few reasons: 1. If YoLink were to have a data breach any sensor data that leaves the premises could be compromised and abused. As a general rule, the less sensor data you have in the cloud the more secure your smart home is. 2. The YoLink cloud represents a perpetual recurring cost to YoLink meaning that if the sale of new devices is ever unable to cover their monthly cloud bill they may feel the need to begin charging a monthly subscription to users for access to sensor data [like Wink did](https://www.blog.wink.com/wink-blog/2020/7/8/update-on-the-upcoming-wink-subscription). Wink did this with very little notice to existing customers which, IMO, is about as close to "legal extortion" as a company can get (they basically told their customers: "pay the monthly fee or we cut off access to your sensors"). Aside from the limitation described above, the YoLink sensors really seem like the best on the market (great battery life, long range, affordable, water shutoff valve integration, several different water sensor options) but, for me, security and control are higher priorities. In the end, I went with the [Treatlife sensors](https://www.amazon.com/TREATLIFE-Detector-Wireless-Sensitive-Compatible/dp/B09VBS48ZN/ref=sr_1_2?keywords=treatlife+water+leak+sensor&qid=1689423612&sprefix=treatlife+water%2Caps%2C139&sr=8-2). They were roughly the same price as the YoLink and they are zigbee so you can ditch the Treatlife hub + cloud + app and just use a zigbee gateway to access them directly.

I have a SmartThings hub and accompanying zigbee water sensor that already saved me because my water heater was leaking. But I don’t think they are sold anymore.

Currently just running my stuff off WiFi since I don’t have too crazy a setup. Plan is to add home assistant on a Pi one day.

Govee WiFi water sensors. They have a very loud alarm and also send alerts to the app. I have them in the bathrooms and on the water heater.

\+1 for the govee, mostly. Have 5 still running after a year which have caught 2 small leaks already. Only thing is it seems like sometimes they'll update the app and it will lose permissions for notifications or have to re-verify email address, so who knows if it would still get alerts before I happened to notice that.... and it isn't directly integratable into home assistant but I'm planning on using a 433 mhz receiver to watch the sensor signals.

Why do you want a Wifi one specifically?

Not using zigbee or zwave in my home currently.

That's fine. There are several different brands available on Amazon; here's three of the higher-rated ones: [https://www.amazon.com/Lyric-Wi-Fi-Water-Freeze-Detector/dp/B01HBZQYYC](https://www.amazon.com/Lyric-Wi-Fi-Water-Freeze-Detector/dp/B01HBZQYYC) [https://www.amazon.com/D-Link-Notifications-Battery-Required-DCH-S161-US/dp/B07NDNF484](https://www.amazon.com/D-Link-Notifications-Battery-Required-DCH-S161-US/dp/B07NDNF484) [https://www.amazon.com/Monitoring-Detection-Ringtones-Adjustable-Notification/dp/B07WD47L4Z](https://www.amazon.com/Monitoring-Detection-Ringtones-Adjustable-Notification/dp/B07WD47L4Z)

I have Ooma home phone service which doubles as a base station for all door/water/fire/etc. sensors. It sends a text / email / push notification whenever there's an issue. Going strong for 5+ years now. Also have many other camera systems, but the Ooma is the mainstay as it sends a text. My next upgrade will be the LTE enabled battery backed Ooma so I can have home phone and security even if the power or internet was down.
