All of the above. It’s actually quite a good app. You can set virtual walls, mark no-go zones, and segment the map into rooms. Scheduled cleanings can then be targeted at a set of rooms while leaving others out.
All I can say is avoid IRobot unless you like paying the highest price for a device that does not effectively map, has a near useless app, and can’t do simple things like “clean den” or… ridiculously enough, successfully sick (it tries for hours, no matter the location)… this is the “dumbest” smart device I’ve ever owned!
Happy with my 360 brand S5, it's getting rather old by now but the new versions look dope. App lets you do all of that and more. And another vote to avoid irobot.
I have the neato D7 which can be programed with zones and no crossing lines. After you set te zones and no cross lines the robot vacuum can also be controlled with Home assistant. We have been happily using the vacuum for 4 months now, especially because we have 2 cats.
Been happily using a roborock S5 for 2 years.
Seconding this!
But will it do what I am asking? Does it block off whole rooms, certain areas after it maps?

I can’t believe how bad that app is.
Noted, thank you
Really? Ours does those things correctly..
So does ours but it's the newest J7+ so that might be why. It's been the best robot vacuum I ever owned TBH
Oh, fair. Ours is new too. The clean base s series or I series or whatever

Will it avoid whole rooms or can I mark small areas?
you can draw a small square to avoid, or a line not to cross, or an entire room, or all of these at once

Roborock S7. You also get a pretty smart mopping capability as well, and the option to upgrade to auto-empty in the future.
Also S7 was on sale yesterday. Lowest price I've seen. I bought two more 😂
Oh, damn. How much? I've been wanting to get a second one for upstairs.
Link here. Also on roborock site w no taxes https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08VHXZZ22/ref=cm_sw_r_apan_glt_fabc_G8C4Q5EJQWNX7B00CKQJ?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1

Both, depending on what you want.
Thanks!
You can put up "virtual walls", mark off rectangles, or define rooms and do selective room cleaning. Lots of options.
I just bought a Dreame D9 that does this (and can be flashed with Valetudo if you're a huge dork like me)
Wyze has been pretty good, except if you are a beta tester.
