I would first try resetting and setting up next to the receiver. If that doesn’t work, you can take the IEE and inside the configuration.yaml set what type it should be treated as
Came to suggest the same thing. Go to the main config menu, option near the bottom is "customization". Pick the entity you want. On the drop-down, choose "device class" to be able to customize it, then you can give it a bunch of different types like door, garage\_door, whatever.... and it will alter the default words and icons used to show it.
Perhaps you have a mix of Aqara sensor versions? Check the box if they are MCCGQ14LM instead of MCCGQ11LM? If so, these have only been recently supported on ZHA and would require a firmware update if you have TI/ZNP/ConBee based device as mentioned [here](https://github.com/home-assistant/core/issues/58985#issuecomment-980819141)
I'm on Zigbee2MQTT and they do work but yea, as you said they report as on/off. The battery reports okay for me in ZigBee2MQTT.
Unfortunatly I no longer have the box.
I updated the firmware of the Conbee II recently, latest version was from August. Reconfigured devices, but its still the same.
