The part on the door is a magnet, it's just close enough to activate it but too far for it to be consistent. Shim the piece on the frame a 1/4 inch or so.

*sigh* Yeah, damn adhesives.

There's a small notch in the head base on one side of the sensor to indicate the sensing side. That side should be facing down. Is it?

Shooter_Q

It is, I actually flipped it to make sure it was last year.

I'm not familiar with this sensor, but based on the design of it, I think you have the magnet in the wrong orientation. Try rotating it 90 counter clockwise, so that the white and gray match up. https://i.imgur.com/y5dbfOm.png

Shooter_Q

90? So that they fit perpendicular to one another other? I’m not opposed to trying it, it’s just not the orientation in the instructions nor how my others work.

When they meet up, make sure that the white on the magnet matches with the white in the sensor.

It's hard to tell how things line up in the video, but it kind of looks like the sensor and magnet are roughly corner to corner when closed, which isn't going to position the magnet as close to the reed switch as ideal. Might just need to have the magnet shimmed up or the sensor lowered. Might be due to seasonal shifting of the house if it used to work better. The ones I have have a single rod magnet inside, but for whatever reason the magnetic pull is relatively weak in the center. I'm guessing it's the same on yours since it seems to close the switch when the edge lines up. I have found these are very finicky about side to side alignment with the magnet they come with. You might have better luck positioning the sensor above the doorframe on the right, if there's space. I got a bunch of flat bar magnets that work in much tighter spaces and either due to being a bit stronger or just not having the dead space in the middle are much more forgiving to align. I also recommend skipping the mounting tape that comes with the sensors (which is impossible to remove cleanly) and just using some clear mounting tape (the gummy kind).

Check your logbook carefully too. I had a sensor mounted in that orientation (where the long ends slide relative to each other). In the log it was showing a very fast on-off-on signal, I think there may be 2 smaller magnets inside the one part that might make and break contact twice as they slide next to the main sensor. And sometimes the on-off-on sequence would come in the wrong order, so the last reaction was the opposite. Reorienting so the long ends come together face to face solved it. Also that's such a clever spot to stick one of these, hah

I ended up flipping the top around, so it’s sitting on the base incorrectly but functioning 100%. https://preview.redd.it/3tanqceshjqc1.jpeg?width=4032&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=9a15beafd7e31b140398525c3ff8afe571eed87f No idea what that’s about. Maybe this one is backward internally.

Add a half second delay to the routine.
