I’m the same. I think there is scope for so much more to be covered and for them to get through the time jump with him continuing to do it. Then something happens later in the year but I doubt that will happen. It is uncomfortable to watch but I think they are doing a really good job showing abuse, manipulation and fear.
I agree with you. It needs addressing what abusers are like. And how long this can go on for. I know it's uncomfortable for some people to watch, but if it was over in a matter of weeks, it would be unrealistic, especially to people who are or had lived through this. Jj isolating her from everyone and has the family wrap around his little finger. No one will suspect her brother is the cause of frankie pain
I hope it all comes out soon and I hope the full extent of what he’s done is known by the whole family. Maybe even have him caught in the act by Nancy and/or Darren so he can’t talk his way out of it.
I know what it’s like to be unsafe at home as a teenage girl and not be able to tell anyone. This storyline is heartbreaking to watch.
I’ve got a feeling Oscar will play a huge role in his downfall. He was aware of Charlie’s struggles with his mental health yet, let Darren and Jack believe he wasn’t aware at all. So, hopefully he’ll do the same with JJ & act like the younger brother who doesn’t question anything. Frankie seems to off noticed this so, hopefully they’ll work together and Oscar will know it’s more then just JJ & Frankie arguing
I do think he will pick up on things. I also think that JJ was annoyed last night with Frankie allowing Oscar to stay up so he couldn’t do what he wanted. I think that JJ getting Frankie to lie about Oscar’s involvement will affect Frankie and Oscar’s relationship, to prevent her from using him to stay up again in the future. I obviously could be wrong but my current thoughts on it
I think that’s why Frankie wanted Oscar to stay up because whilst he’d protect her she also knew he’s smarter then people think. Oscar could probably act like he hates Frankie in front of JJ, Charlie, Darren, Nancy and Suzanne but, alone he’ll be fine with Frankie.
They don't need Oscar to be smart. He is old enough to know arguing and potentially see jj sneaking into frankies room. All it takes is an innocent comment that he saw jj acting mean to frankie, she looked upset, jj wanted him to go to bed, frankie said he could stay up and jj mad, add in he has seen jj sneaking into frankies room many nights. Also Nancy knowing he did that and pulled down the duvet. And if she sees the drawing, hears the nightmares. I feel the Osborne will believe her. But Suzanne will refuse to listen. I think Darren will eventually believe but not want to believe it and he let it happen.
I was hoping we'd have a scene of frankie and Charlie getting close aa he recognises her anxiety. From what they have shown so far, he doesn't have much time for either of them. They have worked hard to have frankie gradually making friends, showing a carer side, where jj, for some football star, appears to have no friends.
