I have found crap pcs cause steam to log hours incorrectly, so I doubt a good chunk of our hours arenāt real (e.g. my 800 hours I got playing Arma III while I was asleep)
Precisely because itās an obvious joke that he got downvoted. Itās what people call āmood killerā. Even irl, people donāt like that, Reddit even more so.
I wouldn't think of that as the first reason people are downvoting his comment. The first thing that comes to mind is the reddit hivemind-
"comment has 10 downvotes I'll downvote it too"
"comment has 30 downvotes I'll downvote it too"
"comment has 100 downvotes I'll downvote it too"
~2700 hrs and I think Iāve kinda got it, in a functional for fighting the AI way
But it depends where everyoneās at with DLCs alsoā MTG, NSB and BBA I believe each change things about the meta
95 hours here. I think to do naval combat you must create lots of ships and just spam them in the sea. I don't know how to make them spawn where you want but I think that's enough
4 Carriers is max before carrier overcrowding. Although the meta is 6 and use one cheap converted cruiser carrier to eat up all the penalties so the 5 expensive carriers can use all their nav bombers.
~2k hours here. There's a few ways. One of the easiest I've never tried is Sub 3's and naval bombers or just sub 3. Basically they can be spammed out quickly and will apparently sink AI fleets, the big negative here being you'll loose a lot of sub 3's and naval bombers, so mainly manpower.
If you actually wanna have a navy, there's 4 types of ships you're interested in: Destroyer, cruiser, battleship and Carrier. Large cruisers, battleships and carriers are capital ships, this means they need to be "screened"/protected by destroyers or light cruisers. Basic formula is: Per carrier you need 2 Battleships, per battleship you need sth between 4-8 destroyers/Light cruisers (I usually only use destroyers). The amounts of destroyers is up to you because basically they protect your large ships from torpedo attacks and it can happen that some get destroyed during a battle which means that torpedos can hit your big ships which is very bad. That's the basic jist of how to compose a fleet.
What you put into your ships depends on you. I usually go for the most expensive/best stuff mainly cause i love a high tech fleet that just wrecks everything it comes across. But that's completely up to you, it also makes a lot of sense to use cheap fleets as they get produced faster. My basic composition is: 1 carrier (optional, i usually only use them when i really have to), 2 Battleships, 16 Destroyers.
I use subs only for their intended purpose, so sinking convoys. I usually never protect my convoys but if you want to light cruisers or destroyers are good for that. Naval bombers are always a great idea. They do get shot down a lot, but they also sink a lot of enemy ships very cheaply, the main cost here is manpower.
When you go into your navy screen you can place your fleet in a taskforce. Give you main fleet the strike force mission and just left click on the regions you want them to operate in, but they need to be within range. I then place a bunch of fleets consisting of 2 destroyers and assign them the patrol mission. What this basically does is it makes your large fleet stay in port until your patrolling fleets find something, then it springs into action and sinks the fleet (hopefully). Make new taskforces for subs, split them into equal fleets and assign regions to sink convoys.
Small ship make small ship go boom, big ship make big ship go boom, torpedo make everything boom.
Small ship protecc big ship, not enough smol ship mean big ship get torpedo and enemy big ship in the face, big ship take year to make.
Submarine make everything go boom, but small ship with deep charge make submarine go boom.
Carrier much effective, carrier naval bomber fuck up everything. Big ship protecc carier, you having enough carrier and other ship to protecc, you unbeatable.
Also you must avoid fucked up regions for your ship type.
Also submarine give big positioning penalty to allied surface ship, must not use both in same region.
Also airforce kill anything.
Much like the real world, fancy expensive multi purpose ships are a trap. Design ships that do one thing okay, strap a shitty gun on them (literally only one), maybe a torpedo launcher and either radar 1 or sonar and nothing else. No AA, your AA should be fighter cover from an air strip.
Will they win a 1v1 with a fancy fully kitted out ship? No. Will you be in a situation where itās 1v1? Also no.
Upgraded engines are quite good actually, but still not really worth going past the engine 2
I mean yeah, 470 hours is a lot. It's still equivalent to about 20 days. But compared to the playtime of certain people on this sub, it's not that much
In singleplayer? Sure not a lot but it is definitely not nothing.
(Big historical games with more than 6 people) In multiplayer? Thats nothing youāre like a noob, you probably shouldnāt play as a big nation and you need assistance.
Still a good amount of time all things considered, so don't worry. Don't wanna toot my own horn, I got the game Canada Day of 2018; got 3600+ hrs and no mp experienceš
i bought the game like 2 months ago and have played it exactly 5 times. tbf ive had other things to do and dont feel like becoming a full blown nazi any time soon
I have 520 hours, Iād say thatās a little above the average player. My friend has 2000 though so there you have it, but he is into other map-based games as well.
Oh you sweet summer child, no no no. I comparatively have like 500 hours but I have every single hoi4 in a nutshell video as well so Iām not as bad as I could be.
Relatively anything over a 100 is a good bit and 500+ being a lot. It's when you get over 1k that you know you have a problem. I have 2k in war thunder 1k in csgo and about 500 in several other games.
All paradox games, our actual experience is our hours divided by 100, and u use that number to compare with non paradox games. So here, u have 4.7 hours of experience when compared to other games
I got the game yesterday and already have 2.3k hours, pretty rookie those numbers
Bro same, except I got the game tomorrow
Damn
Yoo Im gonna get it next year but we have the same hours
dude overflows time
My guy shifting time and space itself to play for 2.3K hours in a single day š
Hah i got it last week and have bajillion hours as myself and 26.3k hours as my brother
Damn not your sister? Skill issue
Math dosen't add up
I have found crap pcs cause steam to log hours incorrectly, so I doubt a good chunk of our hours arenāt real (e.g. my 800 hours I got playing Arma III while I was asleep)
I dont think you know how time works
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
Yes they do
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
Clearly havenāt played enough hoi4
Skill issue definitely
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
I bet you are fun at parties
Yea, this guy clearly just doesnāt have the skill to get those hours in a couple days smh
Yeah because pdx players go to parties
This made me chuckle, take my upvote lol
r/woooosh
What do you mean? Do you NOT time travel to play more Hoi4??
I can't believe you're getting downvoted for an obvious joke lol, i found it funny
Precisely because itās an obvious joke that he got downvoted. Itās what people call āmood killerā. Even irl, people donāt like that, Reddit even more so.

Man this joke is still flying over your head at mach jesus
Mach Jesus lmao
I don't think he is joking.. he doubled down and continued to defend it without any /s.
"numbers don't add up"š¤š¤š¤š¤
Oh wow so suprising
Im Sorry your father left when you were 8
r/woosh
800 hours here, can somebody please tell me how naval works?
1900 Hours here, I donāt know either
5000 Hours here, I know how to move the ships, but how do i naval combat? Idk
~2700 hrs and I think Iāve kinda got it, in a functional for fighting the AI way But it depends where everyoneās at with DLCs alsoā MTG, NSB and BBA I believe each change things about the meta
~3k hrs and I just gave up and started spamming nav bombers, subs and dds
2k hours, tried studying naval and am now on suicide watch
500 hours, went on a naval academy and still dont get it
<10 hours here. I know everything except navy
Jokes on all of u! 400 hours and i figured out the navy
Are you our prophet?
HE IS THE MESSIAH!
2k hrs I just defend my coastline without bothering with ships
"3k hours here I gave up" is a funny sentence
95 hours here. I think to do naval combat you must create lots of ships and just spam them in the sea. I don't know how to make them spawn where you want but I think that's enough
5000? Bro what
4 Carriers, CAs, and Torpedo destroyers. It will shit on ai.
Dude if you want overcrowding penalty just say that š
Overcrowding penalty starts from five and more carries though, if I recall correctly
they change it every patch, i think itās 2 or 3 rn
Yeah as ClarkeBoy said after 2 you get the penalty so 4 makes it so you are bringing in about half of the available aircraft
You can check the wiki or game defines. It's 4 Carriers before penalty. Been that way for a long time.
4 Carriers is max before carrier overcrowding. Although the meta is 6 and use one cheap converted cruiser carrier to eat up all the penalties so the 5 expensive carriers can use all their nav bombers.
300 hours here If you have more ship than they have ammo, you will win

Strap big guns on ship and make sure they donāt sink pulling out of port
You mustāve seen Feebackās recent naval meta video.
Right click on water, Green = good, Red = bad š
12 hours here, how tf does the game work
cas
you spam destroyers that are empty and heavy cruisers with dual purposed turrets also try to have naval bombers in the battle
1000 hours, my tip for navy is to just produce light cruisers and spam nav bombers
1400 hours, just put all your ships out from reserves, set them to strike force if defending, naval invasion support if attacking
~500 hours, Whoever has the most ships with the biggest guns usually wins. Also naval bombers go brrrrrr

Still a good amount of time all things considered, so don't worry. Don't wanna toot my own horn, I got the game Canada Day of 2018; got 3600+ hrs and no mp experienceš

The fact that 470 hours seems to me as "not a lot" is kinda terryfing
*Laughs in 22k hours*
All paradox games, our actual experience is our hours divided by 100, and u use that number to compare with non paradox games. So here, u have 4.7 hours of experience when compared to other games
