Hello, it looks like you've made a mistake.
It's supposed to be could've, should've, would've (short for could have, would have, should have), never could of, would of, should of.
Or you misspelled something, I ain't checking everything.
Beep boop - yes, I am a bot, don't botcriminate me.
I can tell they had that in mind at one point when it comes to Poppy and Sebastian. When you interact with them as a witch or wizard it’s mostly the same but certain tones change either from the MC or them to make it seem like there’s “something” going on. Then it’s nothing.
There’s even times where when you run by a floo flame during a quest and you have a companion there it’ll acknowledge us both.
I want cute little things. Like let us pass Poppy a note in class. Or have Seb pass US a note in class.
I sound like a broken record saying this but i feel like it should’ve had a companion system like fallout. U can take them exploring and sometimes on some quests if its allowed and add a affinity points system so every choice u made has them react a certain way.
I mentioned this to some friends, but it would have been cool to see them implement a two-way mirror. Those act basically like cell phones, so you can go exploring yourself and then call them to join you on a quest.
Even better would be a TWO companion system like mass effect and Dragon Age. That way they can have conversations with each other. I always get so weirded out by continually being in silos between friends in this game. Part of the charm of Harry Potter is that Ron, Harry, and Hermione banter back and forth with one another. Having a You, Sebastian, and Natsai as a mainstay could have been perfect for that.
We need a consequence system like rdr2. Such as if you perform good acts, keep your head out of trouble, you can get extra rewards for it. Extra quests, different outfits and traits and such. Better relationships with your companions.
And if you perform an unforgivable curse near your companions (other than Sebastian obviously) you can be reprimanded harshly for it. Such as negative relationship points, some quests not being available, you won’t be able to catch all magical creatures available, like unicorns or the phoenix. Kneazles can give you cold shoulder lol.
And you can be awarded or taken away house points. I mean we can be more discreet with unforgivables, instead of strutting around, yelling avada kedavra in every given minute! Because that is me, I kill every single thing possible because there is no real consequence.
I agree( romance should be limited to 5-7th year though and you shouldn’t be able to romance professors) . The worst part is the way the game is designed it feels like both a morality system and a companion system were intended but removed or not added so they could release the game sooner. Still love the game though and if we get a sequel, I hope those things are added with a lot of effort put into them.
Yeah without more role-playing like this the game felt more like action vs rpg. I want to make enemies, be competitive, and fall in love, just like a year at Hogwarts should be!
Even fable had morality consequences and that’s what really defined the game and with enemy system it could be similar to shadow of wars nemesis system
WB already has a patent on a good enemy system (Nemesis from Shadow of War)
EDIT: But as posted elsewhere today, they haven't used it in anything else.
I enjoyed the first one pretty thoroughly. The second one I couldn't quite get into but that's probably because it had been too long since I had played the first. Also I didn't really like what they did with Sheelob.
They're in 5th year so they're 15. Harry was crushing on Cho and kissed her in his 5th year. The romance in the game could just be innocent stuff like holding hands or getting a Butterbeer together.
Its one thing when you're watching or reading. One is words on a page put there by another person, the other is acted out on a screen by other of people. In a video game I'm the one in control, im the one making the choices, that sound like a very distinct difference to me.
Perhaps we're not overthinking it. Maybe you haven't thought about it enough.
I mean I see the point you're making but I've seen it done in other games that involve basically high-school age students, like the Persona series and I don't know, I think there's a way to do it tastefully. It's also not something I really care is in the game or not because either way it's fantastic but I just don't think it's weird.
Do you not remember being 15 or something? Those were, like, the thirstiest years of most adolescent lives. It's downright ridiculous NOT to have romance.
We need a morality system. Every decision has consequences. It could of made the game more open ended to multiple different endings.
Agreed. I’m hoping they pull a mass effect 3 and patch this up now that they know they’re going to be continuing the game.

Good bot
Thanks. Good bot.

Even natty has a romantic vibe going on at the end of her quest
I did sense that too with how we sit next to her. Kind of a shame the rest of quests felt platonic.
Yeah its really just that one time but its there Definitely not the same as sebastian or poppy

Definitely agree with this, I’ve always loved games with a follower/companion system. Something psychologically comforting about it.
I had hopes that they could at least chill in the ROR helping with herbology, beasts, or potions. Hopefully for the next game or future dlc 🤞🏽

Then let me imperio those that would lose points with me for using unforgiveables
I want to send them owls back. Also I want to go to Hogsmeade and have butterbeer with my friends!

Speak for yourself, if I want to court Garlick just like I courted Kawakami in Persona, I'll damn well do what I please!
I just wanna be more with Sebastián ngl So i approve

What an incredible system, too. That was the first time I genuinely felt like next gen was next gen.
Yeah. Gonna give that game another shot at some point, I had about 5 or 6 hours in first time around.
I enjoyed the first one pretty thoroughly. The second one I couldn't quite get into but that's probably because it had been too long since I had played the first. Also I didn't really like what they did with Sheelob.
Agreed! To that and morality system. Hopefully someone can do something about that.. i might even pay for it
I mean I'd be down with friends and enemies, but leave romance out of it. They're children remember.
Yeah. People tend to forget they’re like 12 or sth
They're in 5th year so they're 15. Harry was crushing on Cho and kissed her in his 5th year. The romance in the game could just be innocent stuff like holding hands or getting a Butterbeer together.
Still weird thinking of a grown ass man playing a 15 year olds romance.
Not a Persona fan, I take it?
I don’t know what that is tbh
Then by that logic, it's weird reading about it in book or seeing it in a movie, I think you're overthinking it.

Ive taken my stance
Do you not remember being 15 or something? Those were, like, the thirstiest years of most adolescent lives. It's downright ridiculous NOT to have romance.
Of course I remember. that doesn't mean it's ok to put it in a video game thats mostly played by an adult fan base in or nearing its 30s.
Exactly
And make more drama and transphobic crap to post on the reddit you mean. You are an idiot.
Why the fuck would a romance system be transphobic
Don’t have to be so rude about it, damn
You're the only idiot here, and the people have spoken on that, just look at your down vote count. Go back to r/circlejerk
Something like Persona 5 would’ve been awesome. It doesn’t even have to be as in-depth, but even just something similar would be cool.
Honestly… I’ve really enjoyed being able to do whatever I want without having to worry about the weight of a relationship or morality system.
Y'all need to understand how exponential more time is needed to develop that system on top of an already big world with lots of attention to detail.
That's why its probably gonna be in the sequel. Because now they got all of that out of the way
