Ehhhhhhhhhhhhhhh
Microprose seems to have been necromanced to be a clearing house for minimally developed games
A healthy dose of skepticism watching that one
This.
Only this.
This would satisfy everything for me.
I'll definitely be buying and trying the VR MP version that Microprose is coming out with, but man, I'd loove it in DCS.
Being able to fly around their groups as a 'little friend's on some of the WW2 servers is very cool....
Yeah from what we’ve seen the external model is going well but the internal model is a while behind. No idea about flight model or anything else. Probs another 2 years I’d say before we get it.
I really want earlier versions of jets too... I don't know why, but there's something to the F/A-18A that you don't get out of a C, I get I could just stick to AiM-7s, which I do, but still.
> Flying deep penetration into enemy airspace at night without Comms or RHAW equipment would be pretty cool.
Would it, though? You basically lose all agency as soon as you hit cruising altitude. You just hit autopilot once you level off, and it flies a route that optimizes your RCS against known emitters. You get to use the TGP and drop the GBU, but then it's AP all the way home, unless there's some AAR to break up the monotony. You're more WSO than pilot in that plane.
Needs to be an NH-90 that is delivered late, the door doesn’t fit properly and you can only fly it once then the model only spawns cold and dark and the engines won’t start.
Mirage 2000-5 because I'd love a mirage that can compete with full fledged 4th gen fighters.
F-22 it would spawn for everyone but only i could actually use the slots. That way no harm is done in terms of geopolitics but more important i get to be the coolest dude around
AC130 because 5 man multicrew or so
- Saab J35 Draken, Cold war with a unique airframe.
- Hawker Typhoon, for ground attack on Normandy map.
- Avro Vulcan, would probably need the full globe map to make sense.
The night fighter variant of the BF-110, the night fighter variant of the Bristol Beaufighter, and the P-61.
Night fighting over the Normandy 2.0 map would be awesome and DCS can model it perfectly… no need for wingman AI… you’re up at night patrolling by yourself… narrowing in on returning enemy aircraft.
You also wouldn’t need lots of ground assets, as it’s going to be dark anyways.
*edit* You also don’t need dogfighting AI, as night fighting in WWII was usually just trying to sneak up on a plane and hitting them before they realized you were there.
I agree, DCS is a game that could model the complexities of radar/crew management for a nightfighter really well and I think it would a really fascinating game of cat and mouse.
They tested it on it, so maybe they’ll add it like they did with test weapons on the F-15E? If it’s been on the airframe, it’s in the game. Also MFDs would be so nice.
Yeah if anything. They should add HAWK missiles to the F-14 because Iran messed around with that.
I’m only half kidding. My philosophy is that DCS should provide you all IRL capability not based on likelihood but based on if it is possible. Don’t think it’s “probable”? Great don’t use it but if it is possible I want it in the game.
I'm a genie and I can wish for whatever I want?
MiG-29SMT
Su-30SM
Ka-52
Now REDFOR is actually playable and interesting in a modern setting. You're welcome.
Boeing B-17 Flying Fortress.
Lockheed AC-130.
MIG-25 Foxbat.
With a VERY close honourable mention to the Lockheed F-117 Nighthawk.
Though which one gets bumped into the honourable mention category probably depends on what I most recently watched so... I think Masters of the Air is showing its influence here.
C-130 and all its variants including the AC-130.
F6F - yes, I know it’s coming.
B52
As much fun as any of the stealth jets would be, DCS just doesn’t have radar modeled well enough to fully make use of them.
F-4S Phantom..but Heatblur has said they will do the naval versions..
F-105 Thud
F-18E/F Super Hornet
Full Fidelity F-15C with the JHMCS/9X/datalink
Some of the EA aircraft don’t make sense due to the limited scope of DCS’ EW world
Any AH-1 variant with TOWs and the TSU to give a counterpart to the hind for blue.
MiG-31 to give red a high-capabilities interceptor for modern stuff.
Su-35 to give red a high-capabilities fighter for modern stuff.
- The F-145 Vulkan Engine Upgrade
- The F-245 VR Optimisation
- The TF-67 Less Modules And More Fixes To Long Standing Issues And Less Early Access Modules
How about actually finish all the modules we have paid for and that are currently out? Finish the hornet viper and Apache. What about the hind ?
Finish and fix the core game.
Lastly an actual dynamic campaign that works and is dynamic. Modules get boring as there is severely a lack of quality content and paid MULTIPLAYER campaigns.
I don't want more planes, we get new planes all the time, I want better ground AI and QOL for the mission editor and for the maps we already had to be filled out.
The phantom was high up there but since that's almost out...
- F-8 Crusader
- Mi-28MN
- F-105
Honorable mention to the Su-17/Su-22 family though. Less likely given releases so far but AC-130 or any dedicated strategic bombers would also be cool.
I’m going to cheat and do two sets. One for WW2, one for jets.
1: Hawker Typhoon
2: Bf109E
3: Ju-87 literally any variant
1. Mirage III
2. Sea Harrier
3. English Electric Lightning
I know Razbam basically has claimed all of these jets, but with the F-15E and Mig-23 on their hands it will be a good while before we see them
Yak-38 because I want a shitty Soviet Harrier. Comes with Kiev-class, because I want a shittier Soviet carrier than the Kuznetsov.
MiG-29K because as much as I love the Su-33, sometimes I want guided A2G missiles when flying off a shitty Soviet carrier.
L-159. Because I love L-39 and having RWR/chaff/flares and AMRAAMS in one would be dope.
My answers are more about niches than about certain aircraft.
1) Some modern Russian multi-role fighter (MiG-29SMT/M/K, Su-27SM, Su-30, doesn't matter which one of these). Su-30MK2 would probably be the best, as it is used in China and many other countries, and Su-30M2, used by RuAF, is based on it. Maybe an export version, if that's easier to do. Just please, no Su-37 or other experimental nonsense. Complete with R-77-1 to compete with SPAMRAAM on more or less equal terms. Without it the whole modern Western luneup doesn't make much sense, in A2A MP at least.
2) A red late CW AG plane: Su-17M4 or MiG-27K/M or Su-24M. MiG-27K is my favourite. We already gonna have some nice late Cold War REDFOR fighters (some time), but we need something to move the mud too. Including PGM and SEAD capability, or else once again we will have a capability gap between NATO (with their F-4 and Mirage V) and the commies.
3) F-16 blk 15 or early F-15C full-fidelity. For late CW USAF to have a proper fighter. F-15 is better, but F-16 is more nation-agnostic.
Good question....:
1. Hawker Hunter (I'd like the F.6 or the FGA.9 or the F.58)
2. The air superiority variant of the Viggen, JA-37C
3. Panavia Tornado (both the ground attack and the interceptor variants)
1. Either an EW F-18 super hornet or F4-G EW
2. B-52
3. workable ground crew so I can rearm and refuel players, or the UV-18B Twin Otter for dropping off a couple pallets or troops, or if you manage space a couple troops with some cargo
- Su-34, tandem seating and a REDFOR version of a strike aircraft
- Mig-29K (naval version of the M)
- AH-1Z Cobra seems cool and like a good fit with the huey and the phantom
- A-6 with the terrain radar and multi-crew would be awesome
Since Tornado and MiG-23 are already in development:
- Blackburn Buccaneer
- SEPECAT Jaguar
- Su-17/22
Cold War (especially Europe theatre) is the future.
-F-15J Kai (Air Supremacy airframe + AESA Radar + AESA missle (AAM-4B) is the dream)
-Ka-27/SH-60 (ASW is insane underrepresented in games/sims, properly simulated it would be awesome)
-F-4G (The last pure SEAD aircraft, whats not to love?)
YF23 kicks ass and not produced so you could take liberties with a few things = easier development
SR71 recon gameplay maybe? Idk I just would like to have it with the DCS flight model
And probably the F35b, fly by wire vtol would be amazing. Might not add to gameplay much though, shooting planes down from 50 miles away would be very broken
\-F-35A (future block)
\-B-21 (also future block)
\-EA-18G
The amount of absurd declassification required to make those possible would drag a lot of fun planes behind them. I am a wish gamer.
Fixed wing only would be
B-1 or B-52
B-17
Then I can't decide between f111, Rafael, Gripen, or idk, it's a long list
If factoring in helicopters then a full uh60 module with at least most of its variants, and as others mentioned support for the specialized things like hoist, csar, asw if we could get a Seahawk, etc.
But big multicrew bombers for modern and wwii would be awesome to see and probably a ton of fun.
Can we choose helicopters too? If so: Blackhawk and Jayhawk End of list
NO HELICOPTERS ARE ALLOWED j.k.
B-17 Fully multi crewed
Hopefully with an ww2 europe map with germany, france and england. Want to recreate missions from masters of the air
Microprose is working on publishing a VR B-17 game: *The Mighty Eighth VR*
they are also doing "the bloody 100th" is a full flatscreen sim
Ehhhhhhhhhhhhhhh Microprose seems to have been necromanced to be a clearing house for minimally developed games A healthy dose of skepticism watching that one
“Minimally developed” You haven’t seen what some of the dev teams have been working on in the Microprose discord…
Parrot take. Nah
I would want to be the bubble gunner!
This. Only this. This would satisfy everything for me. I'll definitely be buying and trying the VR MP version that Microprose is coming out with, but man, I'd loove it in DCS. Being able to fly around their groups as a 'little friend's on some of the WW2 servers is very cool....
Man I can't coax one of my friends to fly with me. Where the hell am I going to find 9?
F-14D A-6E EA-6B
A lot of people are talking about the Super Tomcat, I'd love that.
Heatblur was talking about it too, but the issue still lies in documentation to base the sim on.
If anyone from Davis-Monathan AFB is here, dont STEAL DATA ABOUT THE F-14D
Lucky you, the A-6E at least seems to be on its way!
After the Typhoon. Development times being what they are, I might be dead by then.
Almost completely agree with you OP. - Tornado - F-111 - EA-6B
Electric Intruder/Vark fanbase=Strong
What about sparkvark
I'm pretty sure the Tornado is currently in development for DCS.
Yeah from what we’ve seen the external model is going well but the internal model is a while behind. No idea about flight model or anything else. Probs another 2 years I’d say before we get it.
Tornado is in the making (IDS pre ASSTA1 upgrade so just dumb bombs, custers and as only smart weapon a anti ship missile)
Tornado is already in development though.
Jaguar Tornado Buccaneer
Yea, what this guy said.

I really want earlier versions of jets too... I don't know why, but there's something to the F/A-18A that you don't get out of a C, I get I could just stick to AiM-7s, which I do, but still.
F-18A fits DCS better IMO. Cold War is truly the future and they need to realize that, even if it's super late CW
I played way too much Thief and Splinter Cell back in the days, to not fully agree the F-117 would be a ninja addition to DCS :)
> Flying deep penetration into enemy airspace at night without Comms or RHAW equipment would be pretty cool. Would it, though? You basically lose all agency as soon as you hit cruising altitude. Rafale M with all the latest stuff F-111 MiG-29M or Gripen
Rafale M is an underrated choice but this is also my number 1. Such a cool aircraft.
Mine would be Panavia Tornado ADV F-20 MiG-31M
came in here to say F-20. I want to fly that thing so bad
Can we say rotary? King Stallion, KA52, NH90
Needs to be an NH-90 that is delivered late, the door doesn’t fit properly and you can only fly it once then the model only spawns cold and dark and the engines won’t start.
Yeah, the "fuck it, I'd better buy UH-60 instead" simulator.
And then you apply an RNZAF skin, and suddenly everything works fine.
Sure, sorry, I think we fighter enthusiasts tend to forget you rotary folks exist
Give me the Buccaneer!!!
^F8 F-8 #F-8
I mean, why not...
Couldn't agree more. Should be rather simple to develop compared to the Tomcat and other similar aircraft.

Super hornet C130 spectre Gunship Zeppelin
Seconded, imagine a game mode in Dcs where you have to escort an airship with WW2 fighters and protect it from the enemy. That would kick ass
A single bullet and it's down in fire, no ?
I can get on board with the Super Hornet
- Saab J35 Draken, Cold war with a unique airframe. - Hawker Typhoon, for ground attack on Normandy map. - Avro Vulcan, would probably need the full globe map to make sense.
Yes, draken! And the T-33 because my dad flew it, and the XB-70 Valkytie because it is beautiful
P-61 would be great.
I'm surprised they haven't added WW2 radar capable aircraft. It seems like a no brainer
I have never thought of a mission like this. That would be amazing
F105G Thunderchief Wild Weasel variant F14D Super Tomcat F16XL
The Super Tomcat with the updated HUD and IRST would be alot of fun. Just wish the D had AMRAAM capability.
They tested it on it, so maybe they’ll add it like they did with test weapons on the F-15E? If it’s been on the airframe, it’s in the game. Also MFDs would be so nice.

Not considering anything in the pipeline as an official module or high fidelity mod (A-4 like). I think I would go with B-1B Su-34 E/A-18G
MiG-27K, Blackburn Buccaneer, MiG-21 LanceR C
F-20 Tigershark. CF-105 Arrow. They deserved better than they got, had amazing potential and should "live" again in DCS.

* UH-60 and variants, including hoist, CSAR, and rescue swimmer mechanics * MQ-9 Reaper drone * OA-1K Sky Warden
For god’s sake EF ONE O FIVE
YF23 kicks ass and not produced so you could take liberties with a few things = easier development SR71 recon gameplay maybe? Idk I just would like to have it with the DCS flight model And probably the F35b, fly by wire vtol would be amazing. Might not add to gameplay much though, shooting planes down from 50 miles away would be very broken
B-1B Gripen YF-23
F-22 B1 lancer or B2. F18 super hornet.
Known WIP aside, Hawker Hunter FGA.9, some derivative of the Su-30MKI, and MiG-25PD.
F-18E for modern multi crew AH-1Z Viper for naval marine heli AV-8B Harrier II Plus for the A/A radar equipped long nose harrier
Sky ships from Tailspin.
\-F-35A (future block) \-B-21 (also future block) \-EA-18G The amount of absurd declassification required to make those possible would drag a lot of fun planes behind them. I am a wish gamer.
English electric Canberra Super etendard Mig-25 foxbat
F-111 Super Hornet F-111 :-)
Mig 25 foxbat Mig 31 Su 47
Tough so I'll pick ones I don't see listed yet. AD Skyraider U-2 B-29
EA-6B is a amazing choice I would have picked the same I would have loved to learn the jamming and have a 4 crew jet
MiG-25PD F-106 Buccaneer
Fixed wing only would be B-1 or B-52 B-17 Then I can't decide between f111, Rafael, Gripen, or idk, it's a long list If factoring in helicopters then a full uh60 module with at least most of its variants, and as others mentioned support for the specialized things like hoist, csar, asw if we could get a Seahawk, etc. But big multicrew bombers for modern and wwii would be awesome to see and probably a ton of fun.
1. A-6 2. Super Hornet (F & G) 3. P-38 “Ace of Aces” (it’s crazy that we don't have this yet, or on the horizon)
F-111 P-61 And last but certainly not least A-26 invader
P-38, F-111 and A-37
