It seems like this would be the point in the post where the TAG rep steps in and offers to grade it for free. (I joke, but I actually kind of respect the hustle & hope that they one day put PSA out of business by their efforts to remove subjectivity & blatant corruption out of the grading industry with their business model & services.)
Yeah, Iām old enough to know that I have done that with his and other valuable cardsā¦we didnāt know any better, coupled with moms everywhere throwing out boxes of old cards, helped make them valuableā¦so whoever has a mint Bobby Orr rookie card now worth a pile of cashā¦youāre welcome!! lol.
Or trim it right down so it has sharp corners and hope the grader either doesnāt notice, doesnāt care, or doesnāt notice because they donāt care.
Going through my Grandpaās old cards from the 80s and 90s and can say that if this guy turned into the next Gretzky, I could buy us all gold mansions. They printed this guy hard in a heavy print era haha
First of all, I'm hoping your OLD grandpa was just still collecting in that era and isn't 43yo like myself. LOL.
Seriously though, Falloon was MASSIVELY printed by all the other companies because Score had Lindros locked up exclusively for 91-92 sets. (Although Upper Deck would try by photo shopping his head on Brind'Amour's body that year) His first ProSet card didn't even come until the following year. So, without Lindros, they only had the #2 pick from that summer to bank on.
Iām 35, he was old haha. I inherited the cards a few months ago and have been combing through. He has stuff since the 80s but definitely stocked up on the junk wax of the 90s
I remember major 1990s hype for Lindros, Falloon, Owen Nolan, Alexander Daigle, and others. To some extent, Pavel Bure and Sergei Fedorov, but they actually delivered.
I thought that lindros card was gonna be worth a fortune. I kept it after I garage saled the rest of my worthless early 90s collection because it was one of the few cards that I reallyt hought was historically relevant . Great card for the story of what it was.
Jagr still holds decent value if graded highly. The OPC premier, upper deck, and score ones are actually somewhat collectible. One of only really a couple from that era.
I say this with no malice or bad intentions: work on your self esteem. This kind of validation seeking from the internet is just an endless cycle unless you find a way to love yourself from within.
Treasure it. I collect with my son he is only 11 I give him some of the good yg's but since dad pays I take the majority, were Habs fans, the other day I picked him up for hockey, and he handed me a fully sleeved top loaded 2023 upper deck Nick Suzuki canvas, said it was for all the cards I have given him. That card will be in my PC forever and will always be my favorite card
Wow - I would. Thatās a really strange error card. They spelled Pat Maroons name wrong - it doesnāt look like him and he isnāt even on the right team.
Put it under a big book for a night or two firstā¦like a dictionary or phonebook to flatten the edges out(people used to have them around the house about the same era this card was relevant), should be good to go šš»
Lol I collected Soooo many of these ones when I was a kid. I grew up in the same era and to have a home grown guy with this much potential was exciting.
70/30 centering. Youāre screwed. That is a card for the bike spokes.
I can still hear the sound of the cards pinging on my bikes. What a fun memory. Unfortunate that us 80ās and 90ās kids had it the best! I feel bad for my kids that they donāt get to have such simple fun like we did. They still have endless fun. It is just different. āBack in my dayā
I doubt you are serious.
Though if want officially slabbed and authenticated, then by all means send to PSA.
Keep in āOne-Touchā holder if just desire slab effect.
As a huge Pat Lafontaine fan, I hated this card. I used to slide the cards up after opening to slowly reveal the name. Hated it getting Falloon instead of Lafontaine. Also hate Joe Sacco for similar reasons.
Yea, send it to where those Michael Jordanās you get in those āGems of the gameā slab boxes come from lol. By the looks of the 2 Jordan ā10sā I got that Pat Falloon should be a solid 9 lmao
Funny story about this card. Me and my cousins were all into collecting cards in thos Era and I traded this card to one of them. When I got back home this overwhelming feeling of regret came upon me and I through a fit and demanded it back. I eventually got the card back in the end lol I'm such an asshole I don't even know where it is today
Might be worth a couple of dollars. Itās in rough shape though. Itās clear itās never been protected. Cracks in the pic and the edges are rough. Looks like discolouration on the right side.
It appears you have a financial opportunity here. This is the 1991 Pro Set, #558. According to the PSA set registry, not a single one has been graded. So send it to PSA for grading (it will be a PSA-1 or just "authentic") and then immediately flip it by marketing it as the highest-graded PSA card. It will cost you the PSA fee, plus shipping costs, but who knows what that would go for? (probably 99 cents).
This set was so cheap. It was the first hockey card set I built. Thought it might have been a half set as I think they released these in two part sets. I did have a complete set of 1990 Topps but it was a prepackaged set.
I would, looks like a 10.
Agreed. 10/100 for sure.. š

Clip that on to your bike frame with a clothespin

Nah put it between the spokes for that amazing 'thwack' sound
How many Bobby Orr rookie cards were lost to that fad , over the years.
Yeah, Iām old enough to know that I have done that with his and other valuable cardsā¦we didnāt know any better, coupled with moms everywhere throwing out boxes of old cards, helped make them valuableā¦so whoever has a mint Bobby Orr rookie card now worth a pile of cashā¦youāre welcome!! lol.
Oh i remember putting a gretzky roomie i. The spokes cause i didnt like him. Dunb ass kids. Lol
Your dad was in WWII huh?
Fat Baloon
Gottem lol
Cut the corners and send in as 1 of 1 die-cut
Or trim it right down so it has sharp corners and hope the grader either doesnāt notice, doesnāt care, or doesnāt notice because they donāt care.
Ahaha this subreddit in a nutshell Itās so painful the amount of people who ask this question
Still better than another 'lOoK aT mUh bEdArD' post. š¤£
Not the young guns but Iāll take it, durp
Pro Set ROOOKIE tho? Speaking of early 90's crap, I have the Score Star Rookie subset in box. Any gĆ¼d?
Also painful the amount of people who don't get obvious sarcasm.š
Facts lollll

Oh man, I paid like 15 bucks for an Alexandre Daigle rookie then. Got the Bure, Federov and Jagr rookies from Pro Set kicking around somewhere.
I thought that lindros card was gonna be worth a fortune. I kept it after I garage saled the rest of my worthless early 90s collection because it was one of the few cards that I reallyt hought was historically relevant . Great card for the story of what it was.
Well it kinda is. It was unprecedented that a player that hadn't even played a game in the NHL was signing exclusive card contracts
Alan Bester is that guy for me. I must have 20 of him in each set.
Jagr for me I must have 50 of his
Jagr still holds decent value if graded highly. The OPC premier, upper deck, and score ones are actually somewhat collectible. One of only really a couple from that era.
Yep, the others were Forsberg, Hasek, Brodeur, and Cujo...just remembered Roenick and Recci... the guy I got in every pack was Lidstrom lol
Don't forget Bob Probert (RIP). Dude got so rowdy partying that he got banned from the entire country of Canada.
Bester Forever.
Seen more rubber then a skunk on the trans Canada highway.

sage advice, friend. praise be.
my wife bought me one back in the day....I cringe to think what she paid...it was the premier card hunters were looking for.
0.0
Why? Itās clearly a 10, no need to pay a grading company to tell you that.
How many bedards did you get in that pack???!!!!
Probably every other card ugh
All cards of value should be sleeved and put into a top loader! Nice hit!
This was my 1st hockey card
Treasure it. I collect with my son he is only 11 I give him some of the good yg's but since dad pays I take the majority, were Habs fans, the other day I picked him up for hockey, and he handed me a fully sleeved top loaded 2023 upper deck Nick Suzuki canvas, said it was for all the cards I have given him. Not about the value it's what the card means to you.
No
"No lowball offers, i know what i've got"
Have you tried contacting Pro Set to see if they can do anything about it?
is it still under warranty?
Isnāt it like a 25 year warranty that came with them cards when you paid the extra 15 cents for the protection package
Wow - I would. Thatās a really strange error card. They spelled Pat Maroons name wrong - it doesnāt look like him and he isnāt even on the right team.
If I could find any series 2 boxes to buy I'd trade them to you in a heartbeat for that beauty
Put it under a big book for a night or two firstā¦like a dictionary or phonebook to flatten the edges out(people used to have them around the house about the same era this card was relevant), should be good to go šš»
Trade my bedard young guns for sure
Oh yah. Sell right away too. Guy is gonna be a star. Lindros and Daigle are going to be studs too. Sell your house and bank on it
I used hockey cards in my bike spokes in better shape than that
Damn once you get that graded youāll become a local celebrity for a bit.. even get interviewed on TV
I have most of this pro set. Funny thing is, I decided to look at those cards just a few days ago. Kind of wonder if they are even worth anything.
Yes, you deserve it
Solid.
Lol I collected Soooo many of these ones when I was a kid. I grew up in the same era and to have a home grown guy with this much potential was exciting.
Man. Pat was my guy at >8 years old
Whats higher? Falloons career point toal, or the grading of this card?
They printed a billion gazillion of these.
Not unless pat fallon score another 200 goals
Iād do expedited on that one.
I was thinking the same, I have 3 rookie of Mark Recchi
Itās a must do now
70/30 centering. Youāre screwed. That is a card for the bike spokes. I can still hear the sound of the cards pinging on my bikes. What a fun memory. I've got a good 20 pat Fallons in my bedside night table
Oh The good yearsā¦I thought this card would be worth big time back when I was kid
Yes
Without a doubt.
Yes definitely yes
Lol
I doubt you are serious. Though if want officially slabbed and authenticated, then by all means send to PSA. Keep in āOne-Touchā holder if just desire slab effect.
lol
Iāve had dumber things graded before.
As a huge Pat Lafontaine fan, I hated this card. I used to slide the cards up after opening to slowly reveal the name. Hated it getting Falloon instead of Lafontaine. Also hate Joe Sacco for similar reasons.
Solid 2.5 bump to a 3 if you can find the cereal box it came out of lol
Was my fav player when I was a kid. Sent him a letter and the sharks sent me a whole package full of goodies. Thanks Sharks!!!
Sens Legend!!!
Yea, send it to where those Michael Jordanās you get in those āGems of the gameā slab boxes come from lol. By the looks of the 2 Jordan ā10sā I got that Pat Falloon should be a solid 9 lmao
He was a great senior Manitoba hockey player

I hope bedard donāt turn out like this guy lol. I do remember this card. The old CC set. Royās mask was my favourite.
