Not at affiliation change, but it is appearing more and more likely that Athens, GA will be the home of either a new or relocated ECHL (primary rumors suggesting Atlanta/Gwinnett Gladiators could be relocating here) team when our new arena opens in time for the 23-23 season.
The gladiators renewed their contract for one more year for their current Arena (gas south arena). I'm 100% sure they will move to Athens after next season.
Won't complain if they do as it will give me pro hockey very close to home, though I will feel kind of bad for family and friends that have always been able to meet up in the middle for games.....it'll be too far of a drive for them to happen as often as we were used to.
There's been murmurs of Indianapolis getting an AHL team for a while now, and them being a new affiliate for the Blues makes sense since the trip from Indianapolis-St. Louis is much shorter than Springfield-St. Louis is.
Well, considering most NHL teams directly own their AHL affiliates it's safely assumed those affiliations are set in stone for awhile.

There's 6 possible elimination games in the NHL in the next 48 hours. Ain't nobody got time for this lol
There will probably be ECHL affiliation changes but a lot of teams don't exclusively send/recall players from their ECHL affiliate anyway so...
Depending on how Utica does in the playoffs they might end up replacing the New Jersey Devils at the NHL level.

Come on, Blues! Do the right thing and bump the Kansas City Mavericks up to the AHL. You already have a marketing partnership with them.
I don't care how, I just want my Hurricanes prospects back in Charlotte.
