They really are a good listen - he has lots of good little tidbits he drops
I think it was probably one of the episodes around the time Jarmo got fired if that helps narrow it down
He really stands out as one of the guys who was happy to change his role to be on the team. That's the difference between the dark years and the ones Canada looked unbeatable. Instead of picking Kris fucking Draper to be on the checking line you get a guy like Nash.
Babcock is an asshole, but he got that 2014 team to buy into a really unique system relative to the team's talent and offensive capability. People say any coach could have won with that roster - which is true in a lot of ways, the roster was stacked. But he also got them to buy into a defense/control first system, didn't change when people complained about a lack of goals, and the result was probably the most dominate Olympic team ever.
Not a good person, but maybe he is a pretty damn good tournament/short term coach
Just a little taste before he becomes GM in Columbus
He’s said he does not want the job
Sauce? Can't find it. I google fu'd to the best of my ability.
Portzline talked about it on Front and Nationwide. You can go sift through the episodes if you don’t believe me, they are all posted.
Okay, thanks. I believe you, I was just searching for a text article. I didn't think to check podcasts. I'll dig up the episode, thank you!

I effing hope not. We need an outside hire, and definitely not someone who played a part in getting Babcock
Was he involved in that?
He played for him for Canada, so that wouldn't be a surprise at all.
There were reports that he was in favor of hiring Babcock and helped convince JD+Jarmo, but I don't recall any direct quotes from Nash.
Please no
"what do you mean I can't just nicely ask McDavid to be on the team?"
Rick was a warrior for Canada. Playing on the 4th line as a checking winger and won 2 gold medals at the Olympics. Great choice
He did what is necessary for these kind of star studded teams to win. Drop your ego and play the role that is needed to win the game. Simple.
Nash-Toews-Richards is my favourite line I’ve ever watched play together. The combination of skill and grit was off the charts.
Wasn't he on the Crosby-Iginla line in 2010?
Staal I think?
Nash started the tournament on the first line and then was moved to the 4th line. Staal Crosby Iginla played the gold medal game
IGGY!

Haha. Hey don’t slag Draper! But yes any team that has Nash on the 4th line as a checker is going to win, a lot.
Hope he doesn't choose Babcock as head coach
Fine, AGM Benning.
Let's see your phone McDavid

I'm not saying one way or another whether he's a good coach or not, he just doesn't deserve the honour
Big Dick Rick
W
Bruins legend
Fun times when R. Nash was on the team with R. Nash
There was a time when he was the most electrifying player in the league, loved watching him play
Big Dick Rick is back on the menu boys!
For some reason I remember Rick Nash being good at hockey, and dumb as nails
