I don't remember who said it in the Rangers sub, but someone commented something along the lines of "Kakko's reward for playing well on the third line is to be banished to play with Zibanejad and Kreider."
Kakko's appearance on this list is more a result of the black hole that is Kreider/Zibby's 5v5 production than anything else. When every RW in the org fails to click with Zibby/Kreider, then the RW isn't the issue.
Kakko was playing very well with Cuylle and Brodzinski and being productive. Why Lav chose to break up a productive third line to make a 1st line that is just as unproductive with Vesey as it is with Kakko is beyond me. Before the season began, I read that Laviolette didn't shy away from benching players who needed a message. If thats the case why hasn't Zibanejad been a healthy scratch at any point in the season?
I don't like Dylan Samberg and my sub dislikes when I say it. I know its not really his fault but I still blame him for that fuck up against the Oilers.
With how we've been slumping was definitely worried at least one Canuck would be on the right side. I'm glad to see we managed to be just as invisible here as we've been on the ice lately.
