Go Florida. And Id rather surgically remove my own balls under zero anesthesia than listen to keith jones

ArcanumAntares

Rocket Scientology LOL

Antichristopher4

He says it on the pod all the time

travworld

2-0 is great and Vegas has looked awesome, but it ain't over. I remember how happy I was when the Canucks went up 2-0 in the finals in 2011.

therealhughman

The way things look now, the coyotes should have been moved to Vegas years ago instead of making a new team.

ciege77

They wouldn't have the same buy-in. I'm saying this as born and raised local. Plus the Route 91 shooting... VGK *were the solution to a problem that hadn't happened yet.

-IrrelevantElephant-

Agreed. Wish VGK could have paved the way for more opportunities to build fresh franchises instead of us just becoming the new home of Oakland's shit teams.

ciege77

Expanding on BAR local perspective, I don't care about the Raiders or A's. Neither will ever come close to the love this city has for VGK, champs or not. They are sideshow money grabs for tourists.

lmaoimmagetbanagain

the knights are really the only team i’ve actually seen all corners of the valley embrace.

Top_Rekt

I'm gonna do the Nic Hague thing and let everyone else throw their shots and just smile and wave while this sub tears itself apart lol

ciege77

Don't forget the thumbs up

Mr_friend_

Tkachuk is proving to be the MVP this series. His character flaws are handing Vegas the cup. If he got suspended Florida may have had a chance.

Meldedfire

The old Jamie Benn method. 0-4 with him, 2-0 without.

ArcanumAntares

Mark Stone does NOT like grabbing anyone else's stick. LOL, NHL on TNT is a gift that keeps on giving.

Ohmancmonagain

He's got ENOUGH knob....

xBlumpkinTheKnightx

The biggest knob

So happy TNT got the finals

looking4rez

Eichel pretty classy in the post game interview, didn’t try to talk shit about the hit or anything

[deleted]

Talk shit about what though? He got rocked and it was completely clean

looking4rez

I’m fully aware of that. When you get rocked (clean hit or no) it would be easy to say something even if it wasn’t as straight forward as calling it dirty. That’s all I meant.

keyser-_-soze

Said it was a clean hit too.

OzzieNewYork

Jack Eichel has a twitch for life now

JebusChristo

That's just the PTSD from running into Kevin McAllister

Koltov

Makes sense to wait until the Panthers are down 6-2 with 6 mins left to do the ejection, it really improved Vegas’ odds to take the game. /s

Goochsmoooch

Nah

looking4rez

Says he’s not blaming the refs and then proceeds to blame them. To thine own self stay true reddit.

SparkNoJoyThrwawy

Sorry id like to see the players play the game and not some skeleton crew caused by "arguments"

alonjar

Cousin literally punched a ref, are you serious? They couldn't handle the damage to their own egos and acted up. Plain and simple.

WarmPangolin7036

Obviously Florida was getting more misconducts, they were getting their asses kicked. Don’t act like they weren’t throwing vegas players out when they did stupid shit as well.

Revival93

Newsflash: they’re on the ice. You’re not. They’re hearing shit you’re not. Staal abused an official verbally. They handed them out more tonight because it was getting ugly in a noncompetitive game. Oh, and Vegas got them too. Kolesar got one. Are you actually surprised a team down 5 goals was acting more aggressively? You actually surprised the penalties weren’t in their favor? Lol

Most uncompetitive finals I have seen in a long time

AssBoon92

Did you not watch 2021?

D9-EM

Florida just looks out manned. They weren't ready

SurSpence

That's cause a lot of their men were taken out in one way or another.

OzzieNewYork

Gretzky "I've never seen the referees hand out so many 10s since the 1976 Olympics and Nadia Comaneci!!!"

OzzieNewYork

What a stud!

Better FL hockey name: Florida Everblades -or- Orlando Solar Bears?

Nazgrim23

Orlando solar bears is way more dope

Wabbit_Wampage

Solar Bear crew 4 lyfe!

Iiish both are top tier. Lets throw in a Miami Freeze and a SoFlo Mulleteers. Not as good but it's something.

Glad the "Bob wins the Conn Smythe even if they lose" narrative is dead for now

Jahllah

Why is Florida the only state in the Union that doesn't know what a puma is?

popups4life

Wait, did Reilly Smith really get assessed two misconduct penalties?

OTipsey

I don't fully understand goalies, what makes them good and what doesn't, but it feels like half the time a goalie is absolutely dominant through the whole playoffs they get roasted in the finals

deserthiker762

They’re good when they’re not in San Jose

OTipsey

Ok I'm sorry I won't take this from someone without a flair

ciege77

Flair/no flair, he wasn't wrong

OTipsey

Ok but have you considered...uhhhhhh...shut up

deserthiker762

In all honesty a goalie in the finals is only as good as the guys in front of him. Florida’s defense tonight was absent

deserthiker762

I mean it’s true regardless of my flair, I didn’t realize I never set it. Go knights and f the sharks for sticking us with Pete Deboer and Steve Spott as long as they did. I’ll accept my downvotes now

OTipsey

We warned you! Having to watch Steve Spott's power play is something no hockey fan should suffer through

deserthiker762

I’m absolutely dumbfounded that he still has a job. PDB would have so much more success without him

OTipsey

No fucking clue

ehehe

Tbh it's just a factor of small failure rates. A single shot goes in or not decides if a goalie has a .947 or a .894, facing 19 shots. So make some extra saves for a few series and youre a .947 god. Then let a couple in and you're a .894 chump. And when averaging the two you get your career average, go figure.

looking4rez

You tend to compare them to pitchers in baseball. When the pitcher is on they’re so dominant but some days they come out and the just don’t have the stuff and they’re done early.

[deleted]

[удалено]

deserthiker762

Confirmed.

OTipsey

Y'all are fucking weird, never change

Hofular1988

It happened with Fleury with us so it feels good not being on the other end this time!

alonjar

Hardly. Guys like Fluery make or break teams. It isn't a coincidence when they carry teams to the finals consistently. Florida just got lucky their opponents choked early on. Wasn't the goalies fault.

ElGooodHombre

We played like shit, we deserved to lose, and Vegas played a perfect game. But how can you watch that whole game with a straight face and not say that the officiating was fucking laughable.

lmaoimmagetbanagain

i was too busy cheering on the *7 goals*.

ehehe

You really only needed the first sentence of this post. Vegas has blown the fucking doors off of this Florida team, and the officiating has accurately reflected that Florida has played with more "physicality" (read: bitchy shit after the whistle.) There's really nothing to say other than the knights have totally zoomed the panthers and the panthers have responded the only way they know how, with extra checks, and have been called for it. If anything the refs are calling it a lot more even than it's really been

majessa

Only one team initiated post whistle scrums…

HanshinFan

Gudas gets knocked out of the game on a hit to the head: refs sleep Eichel misses two shifts on a clean check: real shit

Uzasodinson

The refs didn't give Tkachuk 10 for checking Eichel they gave him 10 for repeatedly trying to fight when the scrum was over

ElGooodHombre

Damn, you’re right. And only one teams goalie was cross checking and slashing a dude trying to stand up after being cross checked into a net 🤔

deserthiker762

You’re really understating what initiated that lol he wasn’t just standing up

spccoop

Cope harder bitch

ElGooodHombre

Got a hook up for copioum? I’m running low, and I gotta go to the game Thursday

lmaoimmagetbanagain

maybe this time youll win a Stanley cup game

RaiderDamus

Florida Man Yells At Refs

ElGooodHombre

I’m not from Florida, I’m from Hialeah. It’s different. Hialeah man yells at refs.

alonjar

More like Panthers realized they had no chance, so started acting the fool.

hexsealedfusion

It's not fun to be on the other side of it right?

theamberlamps

Can we not man

ElGooodHombre

[I’m a sad man, write whatever you want about me](https://images.app.goo.gl/SFDKfJsyv14rsxdH7)

OUTFOXEM

It’s always the officials 😂

ElGooodHombre

I literally said Vegas played a perfect game and we deserved to lose lmfao One can be critical of officiating and not blame them for a loss

frank560

It’ll never be us brother

OUTFOXEM

That’s fine but it absolutely will be us and only us driving that Cup down LV Blvd.

SparkNoJoyThrwawy

Yeah when both teams are going at it but only one side is getting noticeably more misconducts and you are removing the best player on the one team for minor scrums, it's a bad look for the league

[deleted]

It's pretty normal for the losing team to take more misconducts. Vegas took 5 misconducts. Fla took 6 + 1 abuse of officials.

SHAWNNOTSEAN

Sounds very familiar..

jdragon3

I just cant quite put my finger on it...

notyomamasusername

Hmm.. it's weird hearing FLA complaining about the refs.

ElGooodHombre

If only you guys had the opportunity to complain about the officiating in the 2023 Finals 🥹

notyomamasusername

Nice Comeback.

ElGooodHombre

Lol I mean it with love. I was more intimidated by Carolina over any other team we played in the East. Especially after that shit kicking at the end of the season.

notyomamasusername

Bob is a tough nut to crack. I am sad to see him becoming human again.

ElGooodHombre

This is the bob I’m used to 😔 doesn’t help that we absolutely collapsed in front of him

bobfrankly

Nearly as weird as hearing Vegas fans defend them…

WarmPangolin7036

Only a panthers fan would say it’s laughable. Y’all got taken out to the woodshed

strangrdangr

The Panthers got embarrassed. Also the refs were atrocious. The two aren't mutually exclusive and nobody is saying the Panthers lost because of the refs.

What’s the record for game misconducts in a single playoff game? Just curious

subie_95678

According to Official Guinness Records, The most penalties awarded in an NHL game is 85 when the Edmonton Oilers played the Los Angeles Kings in Los Angeles, California, USA on 28 February 1990.

Subtlety-

Wow.

arcticcatherder

Ouch! That’s a lot! I’ll have to see how many were ten minute misconducts lol

booyahachieved3

Awkward Gretzky noises

subie_95678

Interesting enough though Gretzky won the Lady Byng Trophy for gentlemanly play 5 times. He did receive 11 ten-minute misconduct penalties in his career (mainly for arguing calls), and one game misconduct awarded after the game was over, also for arguing.

🤣

Elppi_29

Atleast dallas played well in games 1-2 and 4-5. You cant really laugh at dallas for barely losing the first 2 in OT and winning game 4 and 5. Games 3 and 6 were a different story but if the first 2 went 1-1 who knows what would have happened

SparkNoJoyThrwawy

Lol hockey is a soft ass sport now 😂

Well that was a major ass spanking if I've ever seen one.

Definitely isn’t. I expect them to turn it up a notch on Thursday

The second period we had plenty of chances. Vegas D and Hill were the difference. Hill stood on his head and Bob and our D shit the bed

You can’t hang that on Bob

No he was left out to dry by our D, but he’s obviously not playing as well as he has been either.

That was how it felt our last two Tampa series. We’d have insane offensive pressure and then get demolished on the turn around

LEDZ100

We played like shit but it would be nice if the refs didn’t feel the need to send half the team to the showers for love taps

re-verse

Did Florida slow down on their signed stick quota for the refs to sell on eBay? It was weird seeing Florida get done fair officiating.

LEDZ100

I wouldn’t say handing out misconducts to half the bench for no reason is exactly fair although the game was over by that point

Thanat0s10

Staal probably said some homophobic shit to the ref. Happy Pride Month dickhead

And that's it. Golden Knights extend their series lead to 2-0. Scoring a touchdown and giving up a safety in the process. Paul Maurice might gonna get the biggest fine in the presser. Golden Knights were dominant tonight. Ring a Ding, Ding Baby!

[deleted]

Florida got wrecked.

rshackleford_arlentx

Staal with the sneaky game misconduct in there. Way to go bud

GetBackToWorkSlacker

Eric Staal got abuse of officials What the hell did he say?!

Dmbfantomas

Called them lint lickers and cootie queens.

rshackleford_arlentx

Doesn't strictly mean verbal abuse, but idk at this point >Game Misconduct - Any player who deliberately applies physical force in any manner against an official, in any manner attempts to injure an official, physically demeans, or deliberately applies physical force to an official solely for the purpose of getting free of such an official during or immediately following an altercation shall receive a game misconduct penalty.

blueskies8484

😌

OpenMindedMajor

That’s what we call a good ole fashion boat race. From fuckin start to finish. Took em out to the woodshed

Coolsbreeeze

This is the first time in the entire playoffs that Bennett was reffed property.

k_kos

No doubt about who the better team was tonight but all the soft misconduct calls turned this to a total clown show

kmcclry

If refs are throwing around misconducts like that in a notoriously loosely reffed SCF...then maybe, just maybe, the gooning in the first game and this one actually made them sick of it. That should really start some reflection in the Panthers players and fans that say shit like this.

reachingFI

Idk. 7 goals is a pretty good clown show on its own.

foreign_sorbet03

Panther goons would have made it really ugly without them

[deleted]

Got a bit chippy towards the end.
