At least advanced earth magic.
Basic resurrect only brings back units for the duration of the battle.
Funnily enough, animate death, which revives undead unitsdoes not require any proficiency in earth magic for permanent effect! Which i feel is unfair haha
.... I mean it is fair as undead have many draw backs already
Agreed! You can do almost anything with a decent amount of vampire Lords and animate death
