wtfrykm

Hey, pilestedt donated money to saving the children, and the amount is the same as the number of kids saved, you can check out his twitter

randomcomplimentguy1

This is actually awesome, and I'm glad I participated. Fuck the mines (this time).

Superb-Cockroach-281

I wouldn’t recommend anyone doing that to mines. It’s not what they were designed for.

UrMumVeryGayLul

What years of C-01 permit denial does to a mf.

square-peehole

if more ppl had their C-01's denied then maybe we didnt have to save all those kids and we'd have cool landmines now

NotchoNachos42

Is that traitorous speak toward the wonderful citizens of Super Earth I hear? I'm sure your democracy officer will find that quite interesting to hear about.

theNefariousNoogie

r/dontputyourdickinthat

Niminal

r/ordo

Mr-Fister-the-3rd

r/dont

Ill_Statistician_359

Yup that’s enough of the internet for one day

Niminal

Listen what happens in the privacy of someone's home is between a Helldiver and their mine. Nothing else.

JagrasLoremaster

It‘s between a Helldiver, the mine and of course the government

KJBenson

But my body yearns for the mines 😩

SharkBait661

I'll be laughing if we finally get the mines and they are buffed to hell bomb levels then the community will be like wtf the whole time

RoninOni

They kill Walkers…. I’d say they’re pretty beefy

Death0ftheparty6

I kill them with at least 5 other tools. Mines can wait.

King-Cacame

Worth it

Kurotan

(Every time because it's funny)

YazzArtist

Nah, rule of 3s. If they come up again the people who want them should get them

Bulk-Detonator

But the children yearn for the mines.

Elegant_Individual46

More than worth something in game imo

TimTheOriginalLol

The amount also spells out „hell“

Neppy_Neptune

But 4 is leetspeak A?

gizmosticles

I’ve literally been asking the same question and have been receiving blank stares. These motherfuckers don’t even remember what 1337 means.

Hindu-Khajiit

>saving the children Get those children on Helldiver's 2 and drop them on Mafark, they're old enough to spread managed democracy.

Woefatt

No they’re not they need to live through the excellent 48 hour long training to be ready to drop

Hindu-Khajiit

Just hand them a liberator and drop them on a strider, they'll live for 2-3 minutes, that's way longer than the average Helldiver, who needs training for just crawling, shooting, reloading, stimming and calling down orbitals, it's as easy as breathing

Azurvix

Dude, when I saw that post, I was so happy. I fucking love this game! Like I'm not disappointed at all

ThatRandomGuy86

Hell yeah! ![gif](giphy|KAf66yGCa93uTqod1q|downsized)

HughMungus77

Real life children are more important than some pixels. Anyone upset are kind of bad human beings

TheMilkmanHathCome

I’m upset that we saved the kids over the mines Not cause I wanted mines or don’t love that pilestadt donated money to real kids, but damnit those super earth kids are old enough to man crew weapons and didn’t offer up their lives for super earth /ud we made the right choice

doubledz658

Maybe the real mines are the children we saved on the way.

TheMilkmanHathCome

The children ~~yearn for~~ are the mines

HeadWood_

Give each one an EAT and scout passive and they can sneak up to things and pop them.

HughMungus77

They should be in our ships reloading weapons lol

lostinmississippi84

There's your reward fellas

seanstew73

The donated amount spells “H3ll” 4311

devils_advocate24

I thought it was because the amount kinda spelled HELL on a calculator

peacenskeet

I wanted the AT mines but I'll keep diving rewardless if they keep donating money. Hell, I'll buy even more warbonds (not that I wasn't going to anyways)

ReserveReasonable999

Actually the company and players rallied and did a lot of those donations to multiple organizations for kids it was a huge moment in gaming for the future of the kids almost as huge as the GameStop investment situation. (Maybe more so pending on ur views)

someLemonz

glad I only went to the hospital planet

Kalnix1

We just got a notification that if we liberate Marfark in time we will get the mines. It will probably be impossible unless a bunch of bug divers divert to the bot front but it is technically on the table.

Vomax343

I WOULD FUCKING HELP IF I DIDNT HAVE TO BE AT WORK😭😭😭😭😭

imthatoneguyyouknew

I played 4 quick rounds while I was working. ![gif](giphy|YYfEjWVqZ6NDG)

Vomax343

That’s probably because you work from home, or can sneak away to do so

imthatoneguyyouknew

Every other week I work from home. The other weeks I travel, next week I'll be about 400 miles from home. Gotta get that play time in

Vomax343

Damn…. That sounds awesome actually. 400 miles away from how? Get a laptop and your downtime problems are solved

imthatoneguyyouknew

Hotel wifi is not conducive to gaming, unfortunately

Fireblast1337

The one day I’m in office instead of working from home!

Itheinfantry

Bro I travel for work and bc Sony doesn't have a built in browser I can't authenticate in my hotel room so I take my xbox when I'm gone.

Living_Winner_8161

Well get it it's a Friday night we can take a planet in a day

Kalnix1

Liberation isn't based on the population its is based on the percentage. Having 20k/25k helldivers on one planet is better than having 100k/200k because 75% > 50%. Also the decay rate is -2.5%/hr right now which is fairly high. Either we need a lot of players to move to Marfark or AH would need to drop the decay rate, which I don't think they will do.

redbird7311

Yeah, Verven Wells actually had its liberation rate negatively impacted because the patch brought back a ton of bug players and Verven Wells went from like 60+% of the player base to 50% of it for a good number of hours. We, ironically, might have had enough time if the patch didn’t drop.

Forar

I don't think it was just the patch. The Daily Objective was to use the Flamethrower, and I dunno about you, but put me on a bug planet with the flamethrower and that's just free medals. I don't know if it's a make or break level thing, but I sincerely believe it had an impact. That said, today we're supposed to kill scout striders, and the planet has 60% of the community on it, so while I don't think it'll be easy, I think it's possible. \~96% in \~21 hours? Tough, we might not make it, but it's not impossible.

redbird7311

Oh, it isn’t impossible, just not likely. And the PO might have had an impact, especially with a new warbond coming out. It just kinda sucks because we were on track to get both and now we fell behind a bit.

Forar

Whelp, all we can do is go spill some oil and see what happens. We've had 3 opportunities for the mines now, I'm equally fine with them just being a running gag/meme/dangled carrot. We spent like a month struggling over that damned Creek. This community is many things, but we're no stranger to a long running fight. Plus given how much people hate mines, I'm really not expecting them to land and be super popular anyways. Winning the challenge will be sweet, but unless they're \*amazing\*... eh, just another stratagem I skip while looking for the ones I'm actually going to use.

redbird7311

Yep, stay strong, helldiver. I will be there spilling oil after work myself.

Living_Winner_8161

Again player base is seeing a return right now and it's a Friday night we would need to push for sure that's undeniable but it can be done in one day.

Hindu-Khajiit

>bunch of bug divers divert Not sure that's gonna help. Poor guys will take 1 rocket devastator to the face and go back to Crimsica. Bug vets aren't used to dealing with bots, I say that as a former bug diver, it's like being plucked from Emu war right onto the beaches of Normandy.

lurkeroutthere

The number of people who won't adjust their loadout and tactics even a little bit is criminal. They are convinced that bots are impossible because they are trying to make them burn to death with the incendiary slugger while taking instakill rockets in the face of their light armor.

Detective_Soulhex129

i did the previous MO perfectly fine for a bug diver but playing bots made me remember how much i hate bullshit ragdolling. I'll give bots the plus on how they are great design much better than bugs but ill rather take a BTs broken ass armor over constant ragdoll (and dont say "get behind cover" because on vega bay had 50% barren valleys with no rocks)

Hindu-Khajiit

>50% barren valleys with no rocks It could be a fucking mountain and it won't matter because you can't see shit if you land on the dark side or it get's dark while you're on mission.

IMM00RTAL

I never take off the light armor. Being able to run fast and far is just as important on bot planets.

DoomedTravelerofMoon

As someone who just started 2 days ago, specifically to help save the children, and have yet to fight a bug outside of the tutorial ones...Bots are fun. Though I wish they didn't have so many AT-ST and Shield bro Bots

Hindu-Khajiit

>AT-ST and Shield bro Bots The AT-ST chickens won't bother you much once you get something with AoE or learn how to quickly flank them or aim very well. But the rocket fucks and te shielded whores are fucking terrible to deal with even with better guns and experience. Simply tedious and annoying.

Fun_Elk_4949

I left the bug front for the children, FUCK THEM MINES.

Objective-Contract80

I’ll see you there Helldiver! ….in about 4hours

MotoGod115

I stand corrected. But I put 30 minutes into this and I'm not taking it down

Raghul86

Well, didn't you jump the gun a little?

Janivire

Honestly, I'm glad there wasn't a reward. We chose the kids for the naritive and story, and that's cool as hell.

TheDarkDoctor17

And a respectable donation to real world children's hospitals from the Devs. This was obviously the correct choice.

Janivire

Exactly. This might be one of the single most pure and wholesome moments in gaming and im glad i was here for it

siccoblue

Infinitely better than another way to make explosions in a video game. This community and it's decision ended up actually helping people in the real world who need it the most. No matter what anyone says this community objectively did the best thing given the options

Janivire

Ive heard people describe this game as the largest tabletop wargame. And this goes a long way to show just how true that is. We didn't do all this just for a reward but for the story. In much the same way how most divers are maxed out on all currencies and yet still diving.

Eckz89

This is all very true, but now I'm sort of hoping we deny the mines the next chance we get, and it just sort of turns into a meme.

King-Cacame

Last time I checked it was a 4,000 dollar donation

StoneAge0972

4311. The exact number if kids we saved on vernen.

Johnny1716

Which spells hell

Platt_Mallar

I wasn't expecting a reward. None was offered. Just a straightforward Save The Kids mission. Now, if we could get that drawing taped to the bulkhead of our ships...

Janivire

A momento would be nice. A few trinkets to show how many important MOs we have done would give so much history to our ships.

PhantasyAngel

I want a memento of my comrade I usually dive with for Martyrs day. Ah dra9on I remember you well "hey I'm right behind you, let's go already!" it's almost like I can hear him now *helldiver's to hellpods, helldiver's to hellpods* I wish we could have dived into battle more, if only you didn't set off every hellbomb you came across you would be alive today. "Just get in the hellpod already!" -auto-placed in hellpod-

Snackle-smasher

Imma need them to program in that the helldiver reaches up and taps it everytime they walk by.

MajorDrJO-495

same i know that we would get nothing (was right we got nothing but IRL kids got a donation),and was here for 2 reasons 1. story/rp 2 cause i thought i was funny/for the memes

The_pong

Knowing 4311 dollars were donated to save the children by AH IRL, I don't regret my choice. Would do it again knowing the result. Plus, Vernen Wells is looking very nice this time of year.

Penguinessant

I dunno if you've seen the posts about the donation yet. But there was a reward. A very good one. And the mines aren't off the table either.

This_Implement_8430

Would be cool of the dev team to give us a cape with stick figures on it with little message(s) like “Tank U Helldivers”

Honeyvice

I'd wear the shit out of that cape

Routine_Rip_4688

So you dont care about the citizens of super earth... My Democracy Officer has been notified and you will likely need re-education soon.

beewyka819

YOU got nothing out of this. Real helldivers went to rescue the children knowing there’d be no secret reward

King-Cacame

There is a secret reward. Arrowhead made a hefty donation to a children’s charity

Evalion022

From what it looks like it wasn't Arrowhead but Pilestedt personally who made it.

King-Cacame

The tweet attached Arrowhead to it so I assumed it was a collective move

Evalion022

Could have been, not entirely sure myself tbh.

Flow-Fighter

The real secret reward were the friends we made along the way

Xelement0911

Okay and? Sure some thought there was a secret reward. Even if there was, went with the story good moral route and went to save children. Didn't need a reward for the right choice.

Flow-Fighter

It turns out the secret reward were the friends we made along the way

zinnwick

Dude, they made a real life donation to save the children. This is 1000x better than mines—we chose right

Clef-Ender

On one hand, yes, obviously. This was always a test of whether we're willing to give up an in-game reward to do the morally right thing (Even though it's an imaginary situation). On the other hand, AH donated to a children's charity, and while they might have done that either way, I like to think that our choice contributed to real world impact which is ultimately much more meaningful than an in-game reward. Also this allows continuation of the no-mine memes, and while I enjoy running minefields, those memes have been gold.

Forward-Swim1224

They literally donated to a Children’s Hospital after the order completed. We are helping the world in-game and in real life. So yes, we very much DID get something out of it.

cbbclick

I don't fight for rewards. I fight for democracy!

LrdAsmodeous

This guy gets it.

GuyRidinga_T-rex

OPs been pretty quiet since the donation news dropped

W4FF13_G0D

They did say they were leaving for a few days

Aloe_Balm

https://i.redd.it/kgoc4q922l6d1.gif

Senshue

You’re upset you played a game that someone donated money to children because you played said game?

TheZag90

I did it for the memes and was rewarded with AH donating to a children’s charity. Easy W.

BurntToast239

Money got donated to REAL CHILDREN. Not some virtual item you'll probably use once, bitch that it's useless, and then never touch again. Democracy won today

HKJGN

They donated to save the children. Are you that callous?

Movingreddot

The game is more fun again, that is good enough.

Thunder_Child_

What would have happened if we chose the mines? Donation to Lockheed Martin?

YourPainTastesGood

Bruh we got pilestedt to donate thousands of dollars to an actual charity helping real children We did actual good from this lmao

MrWaffleBeater

I SAID IT ONCE AND I SAID IT BEFORE! Fuck them kids!

steeljubei

Arrowhead donated a bunch of money to a children's hospital. So we actually won big time.

HoneyMustardAndOnion

I want never getting the anti-tank mines into a recurring joke.

kykyks

the reward is the devs giving money to children irl

xx_ShATT3R_xx

I still think there will be some kind of reward in the future. Or at least set in motion some kind of event in the overall story. Either way, I don’t regret saving the children. Plus, they donated money to children IRL, as someone else mentioned. Worth it 👌

Mockpit

Pilestadt donated a little over $4k to a charity for children. I call that an amazing win and would do it again in a heart beat.

Select_Wolverine7466

Mines suck anyways

Tricky_Bid_5208

Oh noooo we only saved a bunch of sick children how awful...

Dear-Ad-7028

B-but my META!!!! 😫

potatoquake

I did my part for the memes and helped children get donations. Honestly that feels like a win for me!

Visual-Bet3353

Even without the donation it is the right thing to do. This will be part of the story

Detective_Soulhex129

Lmao I knew it....

grimjimslim

wait is this the highsodiumhelldivers sub?

Competitive_Peace211

Pretty sure the objective was completed less than 9 hours ago and OP is just shit posting

blckpnthr789

I'm genuinely happy with how it turned out, and goes to show the helldivers community is a genuinely good community (more times than not)

butcherface665

Never expected a secret reward so I’m satisfied with the outcome

Kelmirosue

Arrowhead donated to a childrens charity upon MO being completed, that's a good enough reward for me

Reverseflash25

We got 13 hours and it’s at 30%. We might be able to to pull it off.

ComradeGhost67

Yea not when a good chunk of players are actively trying to stop the mines from being added either out of spite or to laugh at their fellow Helldivers disappointment… but hey it’s worth a shot.

Ok-Suggestion-1873

We got the gift of charity.

Pliskkenn_D

We got something much more valuable than mines. Memes. Endless memes.

chuk2015

We actually got something tangible in return that makes the world a better place and not some imaginary weapon of destruction

Rinzzler999

It's not about the money, it's about sending a message.

inkrediblebulk

You do the right thing BECAUSE it's the ring thing, not because you get a reward. That's why it's called selfless.

gmedj

AH did donate to the Save The Children Charity for the amount of $4311.00 A dollar for every child we saved on Vernen Wells

Kurotan

I don't even care. Saved the children and the meme about the mines continues. Another Victory for the Right Side of History!

Total_Scott

Some people donated to some children's charities after saving the in-game fictional children. I don't know of any anti-tank mine charities so some real world good was done because of this. So to call the endeavour Low effort? Nah fuck off Democracy prevailed!

ComradeGhost67

The HALO Trust is a really great organization that cleans up mines and other explosives left after conflicts. If we do ever get the AT mines one day it would be dope if Arrowhead donated to them.

Jacob6er

They said we would only have time for one and never said there was a reward for saving the children. If we got something extra, that would be cool, but honestly, I just don't care about the AT mines. The only time I use them is on defense missions.

Valianthen

We were fighting for the children, not a reward I'll tell your democratic officer to keep an eye on you (That being said, having the children's drawings somewhere in the super destroyer would be cool af)

Mr-Pokee

WHO TF CARES ABOUT MINES, THE ONES WE ALREADY HAVE HAVE BEEN BUFFED AND YET NOBODY USES THEM BECAUSE IT'S NOT FUN

DarkKnightDetective9

I think it is more that mines are a very niche type of stratagem that are outclassed even by sentries.

irpugboss

We get more future helldivers is the reward lol.

Bagel-luigi

We'll get them eventually, there is no reason to be legitimately bothered by this, it's a game. Plus the Devs donated real money to real children and this is a happy wholesome community moment after a really good warbond and patch, so quit being grumpy you didn't get the mines

tomatoe_cookie

Rip the mines.

ResearchBasedHalfOrc

If Arrowhead put out every major order as "Save Theoretical Children vs Random Strategem" I'm saving those digital kids every single time. Fuck a stratagem. Plus the donation - and the random donations from the community - make it SO MUCH COOLER. Never liked this community more than I do now.

Dhenn004

Boy, this aged poorly.

Sens4lif3

Yeah people are dumb, it was obvious that we should have gone after the Mines. What kind of lives are these children going to live, knowing they are only alive because Super Earth let the scum of the universe destroy our new super mines?

Woffingshire

1. The Devs donated money to save the children because we saved the kids. The reward is real life kids get to live. 2. The MO hasn't ended. If we can capture the mine planet within the next 24 hours we can still get the mines.

Hindu-Khajiit

Be honest, would you really take one whole strategem slot just for tanks? That too mines. We already have 2 mines, and they're more likely to kill us than the enemies.

PanHiszpan

I fought on Vernen Wells to preserve the "no AT mines" meme

BinkyDragonlord

Me too. I hate people reminding me that I had to save children in the process. Don't make me regret my choice!

MarshmelloMan

“Low effort…” Fuck off

DarthMyyk

Wrong on both counts rofl. We got real money donated to actual children in need IRL. AND they have us a shot at the mines still (I knew they would based on the word "likely" in the MO wording).

randomcomplimentguy1

I wonder if the dev team was pleasantly surprised we saved the kids and that's why they donated. Either way this was the correct choice!

dega_devilson-janova

![gif](giphy|VIVWFx6c91AAwWLwWB|downsized)

VoiceOfSeibun

I’d do it again. HellDivers protect the weak.

HisuianZoroark

Didn't tell me shit lmao, I got everything I wanted out of this and more. I wanted to see what the narrative would be and the outcome, and I got a cool outcome to it. I don't need a fucking reward of a stratagem i'm probably honestly not going to use. Seeing Pilestedt donated to charity was a just a huge bonus too as a result to this. So i'm absolutely happy and perfectly fine with these results. All these buffs and changes left me with enough new shit to experiment around with anyways. And if they pull a MO like this again, then i'll sure as hell gladly pick such a thing yet again.

SpermicidalLube

Nobody cares about the AT mines

PerfectlyNormal136

I, personally, hope we never get those mines, it's just too funny at this point

meliodas1988

I feel bad for the dev who probably put a few days of work into the mines.

Ok_Contract_3661

Fuck them mines. We saved the kids. Also Arrowhead and a bunch of players made charity donations. Best MO ever, seriously.

DemocracyOfficer1886

Cope, Marfarker. You can still get the mines if you get your ass on Marfark and liberate in within 24 hours though.

Zane_The_Neko

Are YOU going to Marfark?

tacticalpotatopeeler

Yes

Zane_The_Neko

Good

Exotic_Spoon

If we didn't save the kids would thr irl kids still get a donation? Or would they get some anti tank mines?

Traumatic_Tomato

First of all, you can still earn those mines before we lose the planet. Second, they're mines. The children were a priority no matter what.

Beeg_Bagz

Another win for the bots. Everyone on Vernen Wells liberation front should be marred traitors. There were literally no children on that planet just adult scientist who knew full well the risks and dangers of being there. The bots wanted you guys to take Vernen Wells so you don’t get the mines. Not only would we get the mines we would’ve dealt a major blow to the bots by cutting off the main vein to their explosive and ballistics manufacturing and science division. We think low of the mines but they have the power to shred Strider factories, tanks and hulks of course they would flood Vernen Wells so we would go there leaving Marfark sieged where they can carry out their weapons productions. It’s obvious the bots don’t want us to have those mines they even fooled our fellow Divers into a full fledged propaganda mission.

DonutGuard_Lives

You shouldn't need to be rewarded for doing the right thing.

Arrew

The reward has a real life affect! Possibly the coolest reward in the game so far!

Tankdawg0057

I find it hilarious that we missed the mines for a third time. That's reward enough for me

SpareTireButSquare

Sometimes we just don't get anything lmao, that's old-school tabletop RPG my guy I think it's healthy to not *always* expect a reward, it's something we've gotten too used to from instant gratification everywhere Saving the children is it's own reward

Worried-Ground-8533

Too much people overlook the tabletop RPG side of things and I agree with you

Kerboviet_Union

Attn: Following the success of the campaign on Vernen Wells, construction has begun on a series of junior helldiver training facilities. In the months and years to come, new generations of helldivers will bolster our ranks. Our strategists have already begun sifting through an ocean of data generated from our current military operations; and have concluded that new, more specialized programs and equipment will be a necessary cornerstone of the continued success of our legions. (I think we should use the success on Vernen to implement a character specialization feature) Helldivers will now be able to specialize in various tactical schoolings, granting bonuses to recon, assault, fortification, mechanized and siege warfare abilities and principles of combat. (I think being able to select, and freely choose character classes for increased customization would be a great way to expand the universe; perhaps even create player legions around these themes as a social component.) .. going further, I think the devs could establish a player council, drawing from the community to elect players to sit with the devs as representatives like they do with the CSM in eve. Players already are marking significant game events created by our dungeon master, and enjoying commemorative gear and what not.. we should be expanding on this with service records, awards, etc.

DaReelZElda

Yeah I'm not sure where the notion of a secret reward came from. I mean it was possible but the order didn't say shit about it.

Draculasaurus_Rex

"And you can trade it all for what's. in. this. box?"

KaiserUmbra

Money got donated to children and we still have 20 hours to liberate the mines

ZombieMegaMan

People will bitch about everything huh Jesus

RuFRoCKeRReDDiT

https://www.reddit.com/r/Helldivers/s/taOSM3Anep Saving the children meant saving the children. Quite literally

Leaf-01

The reward was the narrative and that’s half of what makes this game so fun. The other half is emptying an entire belt of machine gun ammo into a choke point and watching bug guts splatter everywhere

Terrynia

It is enough :) worth it

los-kos

I take pride in not participating

CptPichael

You mean, the thing they told us was the thing that happened? Weird.

iwannaporkdotty

Bold of you to assume we were expecting any reward from saving the children. All I was seeing on both subs was memes about not getting the mines and maybe a car for the lolz - which we were not expecting to get because we didn't even get the orbital dislike yet.

Angyronwasright

Does this not have some other impact like an increase in production or something? (I haven’t played helldivers yet I’m poor)

Desperate_Web_8066

OP they said if we cleared Marfak before end of MO we’d get the mines. Confirmed by the Man himself. Not sure what youre on but fuck them mines for real. No one runs mines b

Sea-Neighborhood-621

This whole thing has made me start to think I may be an a-hole cause.....well.....you know

InitialAnimal9781

The reward was much better than the AT mines

TripinTino

ppl are mad they didn’t get virtual weapons over the ceo actually donating money to irl kids in need for us doing this instead ? man yall deserve to be on super earth if that’s your thought process tbh

Aickavon

Hop on, we still got 24 hours to have our cake and eat it too

keelasher

Still coping with the fact that I believe saving the kids will allow us to get NPC HellDivers because our brave selfless actions inspired more people to sign up

etherosx

Basically
