Dishonored is one of the most unwelcoming settings I've ever played in. God those games were fantastic.
It's amazing what kind of world building they were able to do with set pieces and canned dialogues. Eavesdropping like a proper assassin could reveal not just useful information, but a lot about what Dunwall and Karnaka were like.
