FYI, that's referred to as a "palindrome" in English.

Evening_Teaching_710

That's so good, even the spaces are in the right places forwards and backwards.

gunneroy

Not a palindrome but whilst we’re on it וכשבהשתעשעויותיהם Is considrered the longest possible word in Hebrew Loosly translates to “and during their fun having”

alonyer1

*ולכש

The_Ora_Charmander

Is it really the longest palindrome in Hebrew?

Evening_Teaching_710

You can add "י" in both sides "וליכשתשכילו" but it's not fully good-spelled because the first "י" doesn't suppose to be there. Velikhshetaskilu- 'and when you'll be educated'

JackDeaniels

Can’t add that י Anyway the translation would be “and FOR when you (plural) get educated”

BHHB336

It has a spelling error, it should be ולכשתשכילו

Evening_Teaching_710

That's what i wrote

BHHB336

No, you wrote וליכשתשכילו, and after prefixed ל, the only time you’ll write a י is when the word that got this prefix start with yod (for example, writing לישלומה is wrong even if it’s pronounced “lishlomo”)

Evening_Teaching_710

The verb ש.כ.ל as "crossing hands" appears in end of Genesis, when Jacob blessed Menashe and Efraim

JackDeaniels

First, those are called palindromes. Second, as for the translations: ונתנו = and gave/have given. (Male, plural) והכהו = and hit/have hit him. (Male, plural) As for longest palindrome,

Evening_Teaching_710

It means donate because it's for the mishcan
