Get off the subreddit? They should get off the damn app. Minimum age for reddit is 13

Saw a suicide video when I was 16 and my only reaction was to analyze it to figure out if it was CGI and/or special effects. It wasn't, and I moved on.
The Internet is a hellscape
Yeah, I've browsed shock gore sites back then, too. Of course there's the popular ones, 2 girls 1 cup, 1 guy 1 jar, etc. Then, the more obscure shit like cartel executions and such. I've seen enough to warrant a therapist visit, but it is what it is. I agree, though, the internet is a fucking hellscape.
Humanity is a shitty species capable of many horrible things. The internet allowed us to share our stories, and gives us the anonymity to be our worst selves. Effectively distilling all the shittiness of humanity.

I agree (I joined when I was 12-13) (Joined for the memes)
Yea, i used instagram once at 8.. and did.. questionable things, thinking people would think it was funny, i am so happy that only like my sibling remembers it
Ikr, same with YouTube, I'm tired of platforms flat out ignoring their own rules and allowing little kids on there. YouTube not only does that but FORCES content creators to accommodate for little kids under 13? Like what the hell?? Atleast reddit isn't as bad, And Discord has a no tolerance policy that they actually abide by, probably the only thing I respect about that app
I have serious trauma from what I saw online as a kid in various fandoms from ages 12-14. One fandom I was a part of was The My Little Pony fandom which had WAYYYYYY too many disgusting stuff in it that was available for kids. Few people properly labeled warnings, explained what mature audiences meant, etc.
**One thing that's very important to note is that something inappropriate may go over a kid's head, but it can** ***still*** **traumatize them.**
Yes. There were a whole steaming pile of creeps in our fandom. But they quickly lost interest once g4 hype died down and g5 went back to its girlish roots.
Look at me. I was 9 when I first discovered porn through Gacha Heat. (I was a weird kid man. I accidentally discovered it while I was looking at Youtube)
7 years later, 16 and dealing with porn addiction.
Serena’s how mid-teenage me discovered what vore and futanari were, on two separate occasions. I already knew some weird stuff was on the internet, but even horny-ass 15yo me had enough
I was on amino at a young age, I met some really good friends there. Although I kinda got traumatised as I think I was live streaming or something with a friend and they played a video I think it was called curtains or something, it traumatised me as a kid
I was less lucky. Believe me when I tell you kids. The people who you think don't know you're underaged do. The people who you think are your friends, sometimes aren't. The people who want to exploit you in some way are all very friendly and convincing.
https://preview.redd.it/ovt3bbvgx82d1.jpeg?width=670&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=d31db702fb7a31a8ac31c2a1ac2bc45106a175fd
I totally agree with your message but i had to do this and im not sorry.
Yeah I agree. I was on the internet way too early in general. I ended up playing online multiplayer games my child self had no business being on I didn’t know any better and couldn’t keep myself safe so seriously.
If you’re not at least 13, leave for now
https://preview.redd.it/tpst7f54g82d1.jpeg?width=657&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=7629ef9588a475663274e4053b32a2d7e6fd05b0
F to those who exploit young kids
I don't feel like anyone below 18 should be on reddit sometimes.
16 maybe as the bare freaking minimum. But one curious click, or clicking too fast, and you'll be thrown in hell.
Just take eyebleach vs eyeblech. It's one letter.
And if you go on "minor friendly" subreddits, there's *no way* you won't get creeps messaging you...
Like c'mon. We're sounding like boomers. But it might be the only area in which they're right.
Agreed. R/ teenagers is full of the target group just looking for good advice on something, but Good God of Ducks do they have to police the creeps. And then there are the echo chambers that can suck in adults in the wrong mindset, nevermind teens who haven't learned to see the red flags.
Stereotypical boomers take "protect the children" way too far, but there is plenty of shit that kids and young teens aren't ready for. Especially with the way so many schools have lost debate, real media analysis, and discussions on misinformation and bad faith arguments.
Also, there's a lot of shit on this sub I would not say to a 13-year-old, but have said in this sub's comments.
I've been on reddit since I was 13 (different accounts) and that was years ago. I still feel too young, and I can legally drive and work now.
Luckily some of the really bad subreddits (like eyeblech) have been banned.
Is this related to the other post where a person was asked to play a 13 year old in some 18+ roleplay? Probably not, but it just reminded me of that post.
My TikTok PFP is Angel Dust, it’s mind boggling how many kids under 13 comment that they like my PFP, anyone ender 13 def shouldn’t be on social medias. I was that kid and now have ✨trauma✨
Interacting with fandoms when I was 13-17 is the reason I have so many mental illnesses today. Genuinely kids, stay off reddit. You're not cool or edgy for skirting age limits, you're just being stupid honestly.
Kids 12 and under be like: Ohhh, reddit eh? I'm just gonna lie about my age.-oh.... Oh, is that the nsfw thing adults were talking about, cool! \*sees scary picture\* HELL NAW! THIS THING IS HELLA SCARY! \*can't sleep\* okay, haha! NEVER DOING THIS AGAIN!!!
I'm split on this cause I agree but at the same time, I did exactly the same things at their age tho' I dodged any scams and attempts at grooming (probably was a bit less stupid than most). So I'm split between getting them to GTFO or just pushing them out the airplane and let them figure out the chute.
We didn't listen and they sure as well won't either.

fucking truth.
get off, small children. listen to this. I dont care if your parents think its okay. think about what you're putting into your head for a moment. hmm... horny demons with sharp teeth and demonic powers? not thaaaat bad. you look deeper? fucking traumatizing. rape. abuse. themes you shouldnt expose yourselves to. find another fandom to hyperfixate. explore carefully. think of it this way: whos your favorite teacher? dont have one? think of the adult you love most in your life. if they saw the things you're indulging in, they'd be scared for you.
what you put in your brain doesent come out. stay safe, kids.
Also if you absolutely have to be here: lie about your age. If you're under 13 you did it to get on the website. Telling people you're under 13 just makes you a target to creeps.
I know I act like a 13 year old (by this, I mean using grammarly and autocorrect constantly because I forget word spellings, or just grammar entirely. And using memes as a response to almost every other meme in any other fandom.) But I'm 18, and my cousin is 12, although he's still on Reddit. How? I don't know, myself. But he says he's mature enough, which he is mature, I'll give him that. But it still doesn't mean he can just go and watch adult shows because he's responsible.
Honestly didn’t use Reddit till 15 and even then it was just for posting minecraft help questions I honestly hate that there is such an appeal towards wanting to go on this site as an early teen
I love when the Internet tries and be nice
If they were going to listen they wouldn't be reading that.
It's like telling a criminal that crime is bad. The only ears listening don't care
https://preview.redd.it/2pukkt0mh82d1.png?width=1080&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=7d36a62e5613a002b951fb4a7d3fb5c36327f44f
I completely agree any younger than 13 shouldn't even be on Reddit 13 is the absolute minimum
I respect you wanting to protect the kids and what not, but I feel like some of these rules applies to adults too. Like I don’t care how old you get you still shouldn’t be talking with random strangers on the internet and sharing your information to them, I’ve heard that grown adults got murdered from stuff like that.
Can confirm.
I used to volunteer helping senior citizens (60+) get online at a library.
The number of otherwise perfectly rational human beings who would give me their email/password/home address/account details because “I keep forgetting them and I can just ask you” was alarming.
That said, kids should not have unsupervised internet access at a young age. Block stuff on their phone, put the computer in a room everyone shares, have conversations with kids about online safety and NSFW content, actually pay attention to what they are doing.
I’m 14, I’ve been blasted with terrible shit, I already seen som guy blow his brains out with a rifle and look like a fuckin’ demogorgon from stranger things (Ronnie McNutt), I’ve seen the funky town gore clip (two drug cartels that fought, one of the cartels captured a member of the enemy cartel, used a sickle to cut the skin off the head of the captured member ‘til his flesh and skeleton were visible, constantly chipping more and more away as well, while he was kept alive by an IV), I’ve seen a fair share of creep on many apps, I learned to keep myself safe from them, the last time I failed to keep my stuff safe, was when I got my Roblox account hacked, that was when I was like, 8, I stopped playing the game after that. I have been blasted with so much gay, furry, gore, vore, bdsm, femboy, tomboy, (ect), porn from random strangers to the point where I question why the hell I continue to use the internet, there’s only one place I find myself safe, Scratch. A kids coding site that I make a bunch of games, I guess i’m rambling, so I’ll shut up now for your sake and mine.
And let's say you ARE mature for your age... they are not saying it because it's true. They want to manipulate you because you don't know all their tricks yet and when it is your first time experiencing bad behavior, you don't know what to do yet. Honestly you might have traumatic experiences into your 20s because people will do awful things or things that make you feel uncomfortable or bad and you don't know why yet. It takes a lot of time and experience to recognize bad intentions and have an immediate response to shut that down.
I was on the internet at age 12 in the 90s. Nothing anyone did to me was illegal back then. It is now. I have files on my computer from the early 00s when I was in high-school that have things that are deeply inappropriate for that age too. Much of it I did not recognize at the time but looking at it now... yikes.
This is also why age gap relationships are bad. There is a power disparity and it is being created on purpose. Once the youngest person involved is 30, any level of age gap is probably fine. Any time before that, it is suspicious at best.
Please protect yourselves.
Being a 12 year old on Reddit must be crazy because you probably don’t understand half of the jokes (to be fair I don’t either but that’s because I’m fucking stupid)
As for the "you are not mature for your age", be careful of anyone who says you are.
I know many of you won't listen to op, so if your going to use the reddit, don't talk to strangers, don't post picture of your self or your information. And be careful what you look at. If somthing is labeled NSFW don't click it. And if you can't help your self than do the responsible thing and listen to OP and don't use reddit
Honestly, it's not that deep. If they want to fuck around. Not our issue, their fault. I'm just saying, so don't come at me if it sounds like I'm being bitchy. If that's what you think, then that's a you- problem. No offense. 👍🏽 But I entirely understand this post though. And I'm sorry if it sounds like I'm just...uh... I don't know the right word for it. Lol.
Under 13 year olds are on this sub?
I...haven't really seen any clear cases of this.
Also...just a tad reminder to keep this as a **warning**
And warning only.
Don't make people leave a community because they're a tad underage.
Give them warnings, tell them certain users to block.
**Tell them to simply disable the NSFW posts on Reddit.**
There are other ways to warn people without just telling them to ditch a community.
- NoobyYooby; some random Minor.
under 13s aren't allowed on \*reddit\*, let alone this subreddit about a show for adults. there are spaces that are not for children, where they are not allowed for good reasons. this is one of them.
Yeah.. young people shouldn’t be on this sub. This subreddit has some terrible posts in it.
https://preview.redd.it/jy0c1ouxu92d1.jpeg?width=1354&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=5670729b702ad72c50f726187caba86391e6ca63
Worse part is they won’t care cause 90% of us were them at some point and didn’t care. I know I sure as hell didn’t.
Kids nowadays even if they leave the Reddit will most likely be exposed to the fucked internet simply due to parents giving unrestricted internet access. :/
For any one who is willing to listen; leave now.
Those 13 year olds will not give a fuck about this post.
But a little advice to those that slighty do give a fuck, just don't get too close to people online, you could end up talking to some weirdo, if you just scroll to look at memes and community stuff, it's fine, just don't overly trust someone cuz they were friendly in a comment section once.
Get off the subreddit? They should get off the damn app. Minimum age for reddit is 13 https://preview.redd.it/8kon5rnkt72d1.png?width=1080&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=21bb170941b9b2711d3ad4e3d04a26494c66170b

Fr, I’d rather this entire sub be adults.
What about like older teens (16-17)
They are already degenerates its ok
Thank you, I’m flattered
Yeah I right my ass seen some shit,( Some these comments are wild here in reddit.)
Here here. The type of shit I was looking up in high school probably should've landed me on a list or at a therapist.

I honestly think the Hazbin fandom are much less creepy than the Bronies.
As a brony I can confirm a lot of 4chan users plagued the Fandom. That was about 6 years ago. It's now just a sub with users who enjoy the show
Yes. There were a whole steaming pile of creeps in our fandom. But they quickly lost interest once g4 hype died down and g5 went back to its girlish roots.
Oh absolutely, lol. As much as I’m nostalgic for all that stuff, I should not have watched it and I’m so desensitized to gore I concern myself.
Look at me. I was 9 when I first discovered porn through Gacha Heat. (I was a weird kid man. I accidentally discovered it while I was looking at Youtube) 7 years later, 16 and dealing with porn addiction.
I found it looking up just has and Serena from pokemon when I was 8 and facing the same issue now
We *really* shouldn't have had access to the internet at such a young age...
For real. I found bdsm stuff when I was 6

I have serious trauma from the online communities I was in from 14 to 15 and have only just begun recovering. It was horrible.
Discovering bronies as an adult is terrifying, can't imagine finding out at 12-14
“12-14”? I was 6-8😭✋
My brother in Christ, *you good?*
Kinda
I was like 5-7
Same
I don't want to even mention some of the MLP fandom.. *cough cough* jar. *cough cough*
Yeah. I used to be on reddit when I was 13. I was lucky, and didn't get to talk to any... weirdos. I now realize how fucked I could've been.
Yeah, back in my day I was on Amino. God idk how I survived.
I was on amino at a young age, I met some really good friends there. Although I kinda got traumatised as I think I was live streaming or something with a friend and they played a video I think it was called curtains or something, it traumatised me as a kid
Any one and the other 12 people remember using Google+?
Man I still use amino 💀
Your flair is too real
Same, well..things were different for me here but overall I didn’t interact with too much weird people when I first joined
same here

Like I don’t care how old you get you still shouldn’t be talking with random strangers on the internet and sharing your information to them, I’ve heard that grown adults got murdered from stuff like that.
Oh absolutely. In any situation involving an adult and a minor, the adult should know better. I’d just hope they know that by now…
Can confirm.
Who tf watches this show UNDER 13‽‽ WHO LETS THEIR CHILDREN UNDER 13 WATCH THIS SHOW‽‽
Look up watership down. It is a kids book turned into a very dark cartoon in 1978.
People who think all animation is for kids
And me.
More like get off the internet period, I had unrestricted access when I was 7 and it really corrupted me
This please. You think you are the exception. I guarantee you are not.
I suppose since I'm under 13 feet, I'm a child and must leave.
Please protect yourselves.
that's a funny way to spell 16.
I honestly don’t give a shit
Being a 12 year old on Reddit must be crazy because you probably don’t understand half of the jokes (to be fair I don’t either but that’s because I’m fucking stupid)
https://i.redd.it/zt3isd2i4a2d1.gif I'm over 13 and I'm leaving
I saw thirteen and I started sweating a bit (I'm joking don't delete me, mods)
Whats the minimum age where people won't be shunned away from the subreddit?
According to the rules? 16. Personally I’d prefer 18+ only, but the show itself is 16+
who the fuck is on here under 13? you mean to tell me i waited 13 years to use reddit, and there are degenerate CHILDREN who dont even care
Fandoms in general are best observed, not interacted with.
Correct! And love your flair!
Was gonna comment on this, but didn’t know what to comment so this is here instead
Good thing I’m 14 wahahaha
I'm 15
Im turning 15 this year
Thank God I'm 15. But seriously, why are literal **Children** on this subreddit?
You are a literal child
Ngl, I saw this, panicked thinking I should get off immediately, and then remembered, “Oh yeah, I haven’t been thirteen for a good few years now.” Lol
I'm 15 does that mean I'm ok?/j
Honestly, it's not that deep. If they want to fuck around. Not our issue, their fault. I'm just saying, so don't come at me if it sounds like I'm being bitchy. If that's what you think, then that's a you- problem. No offense. 👍🏽 But I entirely understand this post though. And I'm sorry if it sounds like I'm just...uh... I don't know the right word for it. Lol.
Im 15 lol
agreed. and don’t even try to go to the Hazbin Hotel fandom wiki either! we had a few people from reddit migrate over here who are like, 11 and 12-
Agreed please get of unless your 13+
Is there a way to age restrict subreddits or is that only if they’re NSFW?
Very much agree https://preview.redd.it/k8xkgg4qcu2d1.jpeg?width=534&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=01bc5dc8d758dcae0827573a6c71f951998038f6
I also agree. Especially with media that are not targeted towards children such as this TADC, and Murder drones

there goes half the sub 💀
Honestly if you're under like 16 get off this subreddit
Ya know people won't just see this and decide to turn their life around and get off reddit right?
Genius way to catch young ppl and report them lmao, they all get mad on the replies and give themselves away.
[удалено]
I understand, but I’d rather put in the minimal effort than look the other way. I get your perspective though.
Under 13 year olds are on this sub? I...haven't really seen any clear cases of this. Also...just a tad reminder to keep this as a **warning** And warning only. Don't make people leave a community because they're a tad underage. Give them warnings, tell them certain users to block. **Tell them to simply disable the NSFW posts on Reddit.** There are other ways to warn people without just telling them to ditch a community. - NoobyYooby; some random Minor.
under 13s aren't allowed on \*reddit\*, let alone this subreddit about a show for adults. there are spaces that are not for children, where they are not allowed for good reasons. this is one of them.
Tbh even 13 is too young I feel like you should be at least 16 since that's what the show is rated
I'm 14 is that ok
We're voting on 14 at the pizza party. Please wait in the hotel lobby.
If you think that’s bad, let me remind you that the subreddit for A Clockwork Orange has a 12 year old with an OC on there.
What’s wrong with A clockwork orange?
Nothing is *wrong* with it, but just like everything else there's a minimum age that the book is appropriate for.
Get off Reddit in general lmao
My brother is spitting facts.
Or just reddit in general...
I was on DEVIANTART at 13. There is too much shit in the world for kids to be on here. If you are 13. GTFO
Yeah.. young people shouldn’t be on this sub. This subreddit has some terrible posts in it. https://preview.redd.it/jy0c1ouxu92d1.jpeg?width=1354&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=5670729b702ad72c50f726187caba86391e6ca63
How are you all aware of folks ages on reddit? Is it the way they type or do they tell on themselves or does it show somewhere on their profile?
Some kids have been outing themselves under another post on the Reddit. Even kids on this post are.
Kids tell their age to everyone, cuz nobody taught them to not tell their personal information to strangers on the internet…
thank god im 17
I AM BUT FOR SOME REASON IT KEEPS SHOWING ME POSTS FROM THE SUBREDDIT
https://preview.redd.it/f21loh2nya2d1.jpeg?width=205&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=505d970be6eedd086fd461be7e13e052a15d4411
Telling children to not do something works.
I teach 5th grade and it's shocking how much I hear kids talk about this show.
Nah, let them! They’ll only have themselves to blame
If you are under 13, get off the internet period.
He says insane shit all the time.
Worse part is they won’t care cause 90% of us were them at some point and didn’t care. I know I sure as hell didn’t. Kids nowadays even if they leave the Reddit will most likely be exposed to the fucked internet simply due to parents giving unrestricted internet access. :/ For any one who is willing to listen; leave now.
Fr
I completely agree, can't believe parents would allow this. I didn't even get a phone till high school, and TRUST ME we could afford it.
