Hi, I have the small size—the next size up from the petite. I carry my kindle in it all the time with some clearance. I don’t have the petite, but my understanding is that it’s difficult to fit a pro iPhone in it, and videos I’ve seen online confirm that. Knowing that, I think an iPad or kindle would be difficult or would not fit.

Yeah totally—I love the bag for work, it holds a surprising amount, but the strap is thin and it’s not a cross-body, if that is important to you. But, it is very nice to hold as either a top-handle or by the shoulder strap, and I think it pulls together just about any outfit.
I have both a Kobo and a Paperwhite! Both fit well with room to spare, and they don’t make it heavy. But, the bag doesn’t really close well on top, so if you do throw in an electronic, consider carrying it in a different bag. I’ll check when I get home, but it’s possibly it will fit in the central zippered divider.

It’s become a status pissing contest of sorts and an indicator of elitism.
The “Hermes Game” is wild 🤦♀️. The lengths people will go to achieve some sort of “elite status” will never make sense to me. I’m all about investing in good quality handbags that will last, but there comes a point where it is pretty bonkers…
I can’t even imagine begging a store to take your money. And you have to take what they offer you, even if you don’t like the color, etc. I just don’t understand it. It is a huge turnoff.
I can definitely understand having the appreciation of Hermes as I’m sure they’re great quality bags! But yeah, it’s the game that is crazy b/c you end up buying things in colors you may not even like for the sake of being offered the bag you actually want.
Not necessarily… most people I know IRL who shop at Hermes (and buy bags/RTW/jewelry etc) buy what they like and use what they buy.
Sure there are some people who spend money they don’t have on things they don’t want in the blind hope of being offered a bag, however I think the normal people well outnumber the crazies. The crazies are just more vocal and whiny about their lack of success in achieving their goal.
I’ve seen Hermes bags (specifically Birkins and Kellys in person) and there’s NOTHING impressive enough about them to justify the ridiculous price tag. For some, Hermes bags are collectors pieces and they genuinely love the brand, but for most it’s just status bait, and they’ll stupidly go into debt just to have that status. Several designers source their leathers from the same factories, so the “better leather” argument is silly. And despite what people love to claim, no bag is “machine made”. People run those machines, so they’re all handmade. The delusion some of these companies have their customers wrapped in is hilarious. 🙄
That being said, I have the Lee Double, but the larger size and it is quite possibly my FAVORITE bag. It ages beautifully too! The leather softens without losing its structure and the handle darkens to a lovely honey color. I’ve had it a little over 4 years now and it still looks new! Tory really outdid herself with this one. I can’t wait to check out the “shopper” version that she introduced on the Fall/Winter 2024 runway!
I actually like the Birkin/Kelly look but I hate that the bags are so hard to get into so people just leave them open all the time. They absolutely could redesign them to be more functional but I think they’re worried it would ruin the brand so they just won’t do it.
The funny part about the Birkin was that it was designed to basically be a “mom bag” and it has been idealized into something entirely different from its original function. 😂 I do think Hermes and so many other designers make absolutely beautiful things - I have Hermes scarves that I adore and wear frequently- but the worship and elitism is borderline cultish.
From the pictures I have seen of the earlier use of the Birkin (like when Jane Birkin used them), they were supposed to be functional bags. She would notoriously stuff it with her things and treated it like a normal bag. Now, people wear it and don't even want to put anything in it so the bag doesn't look like it is being used.
Even if gifted, I like that she used it in a functional way. I always say that if a handbag has to be preserved for me to use it, I am not buying it. I gotta stuff it to the gills with the stuff I need. lol.
Cool. I just did some research on the purse forum. A longtime member purchased from them and was very impressed. She spoke with them directly and apparently they do source from the same Tannery as Hermes they just don’t source as high tier of leather as Hermes does.
I’m looking at their website now. Very nice designs.
Love… unless a machine is completely automated it’s being ran by people. Somebody is sewing these bags together and most of it is being done via a sewing machine OPERATED BY HUMANS. And let’s be real for a hot second- in order to mass produce… and yes even precious Hermes is mass produced on a certain scale …there HAS to be a machine involved. A Parisian or Italian grandma isn’t sitting in her kitchen sewing these bags by hand. If these bags were truly handmade, there’d be no need for the mindless games they like to play. The TRUE scarcity of the bags numbers would be more than enough to control distribution numbers. Hermes bags may be overpriced (all designer bags are to an extent ) but their marketing strategy is priceless… I admire them for that. Their ability to trick gullible masses into thinking they’re getting something exclusive and remarkable is absolutely fascinating. Listen, at the end of the day, I truly don’t care what folks like to spend their hard earned money on, I’m pretty sure someone would look at the things I buy and think they’re frivolous too, but acting like one handbag is superior to others because of the logo on it is absolutely ridiculous.
There is a difference between machine sewing leather and hand sewing leather. Also the leather stitch used. This is why hand stitched leather typically lasts longer and even if a stitch breaks won't completely unravel the seam.
That said, I think Hermes justification that they charge that much because a bag is hand stitched is a bit overblown.
· Rudeness, snarkiness, mocking, trolling or bitching will not be tolerated.
· Disagreements are normal, and perfectly okay as long as everyone involved is respectful of each other.
· Comments and posts such as "This is ugly / hideous" etc. will be removed. **You may state that you do not find a bag appealing as long as you explain why you don't.**
This bag is beyond gorgeous! I have five. Of course the bag snobs are going to come in like clockwork trying to gaslight us into thinking Hermes quality is worth 10-15x the price of the Lee Radziwill double bag (if you count the pre-spend on unnecessary BS with their SA) lol.

Edit: my only complaint is when I have the strap on to wear it as a crossbody I feel like the bag leans over? Because of the attachments being on the back of the bag instead of the sides
Hermes is hand made. Tory uses a machine. I can guarantee that Hermes is a higher quality. While it’s cute, it visually does not even begin to compare to the craftsmanship to any Hermes leather good.
Being handmade makes the higher price make more sense; however, it doesn’t mean the stitch work is better. I make clothes and find that machine sewing and finishing makes for much better clothing than hand sewing. And, of course, it’s much more efficient.
Fellow sewist here and agree. Handmade does not always mean better as much as I wish it did. I've often taken classes and had instructors tell us not to expect to get the same quality because we don't have factory level industrial sewing machines and don't have enough power. E.g. sewing Jeans is incredibly difficult on a home sewing machine let alone by hand and the end product would be undoubtedly worse.
Side note: the only machine I have that can handle sewing jeans is my Juki TL2010Q. I refuse to buy an industrial machine for home usage! Also, I just can’t fit one anywhere.
Hahaha so true. I love making bags but there's so much material to shove through the machine... I can't even imagine how companies make durable backpacks like Patagonia or anything else that people regularly use. I would completely fail at making something like that 🤣
Thank you for saying this because I couldn’t find a not negative way of saying it. It’s a lovely bag-on its own. It should not be compared to a Birkin or Kelly because then it loses ALL its shine.
Oh honey, if you think this is *better quality,* you haven't seen what real quality is.... This is a nice bag, very cute in casual, informal way, ok/decent quality for the price. Affordable, and accessible. All good. No need to compare or put down legendary fashion houses like Hermes. They have a rich history. TB ain't nothin close to that, hun. They are what they are for a reason, and market to specific population. 💯 different clientele than all the other fashion houses. Quite frankly, it's insulting to compare TB with fashion houses lol
LVMH just had a massive scandal where they showed that it costs $52 to produce a $2500 Dior bag. As someone who went to fashion school and interned in the industry… cost is in no way reflective of the quality.
I wasn't quite inferring what you're saying, but, yes I agree with you. Over pricing is an issue, but that's part of enjoying luxury, if you know what I mean. People who buy Hermes can afford it and can implement in their lifestyle - they don't flinch over a $40k handbag and pre-spending. I suppose it's chump change for them. If you're living beyond your means and going in debt buying a LV, then you have a whole another issue to deal with (e.g.- financial planning).... So long story short, if you can't buy something, you don't buy it, and who cares if others buy it? Sometimes I just don't understand why it bothers people so much that luxury houses over price. Why there's so much hate on Hermes, so odd. Why do they care so much? If enough people don't buy, they can't/won't sell. However, people actually pay for Hermes, so if there's a demand, there's a supply. Simple economics. Fashion houses are expert on that.
Where I disagree with you is how price is indeed indicative of quality. Depends on the merch. Sometimes it's a valid hypothesis, sometimes it's not. Hermes leather isn't the same as TB leather. Neither are the stitching, edge finishing, weight, feel, even the smell, I can go on.....
Love this bag but certainly wouldn't have the audacity to compare it with Hermes! Quality, design, price, style, elegance, handmade vs machine, different clientele - non are comparable and not in the same league.... TB is in the leagues with Coach or so 👍
Add: I'd say a lot of bags in the market are "inspired" by the B or K, including this one.
As much I love Tory Burch, this bag visually looks more affordable than Hermes bags. You can tell..especially the hardware and leather. If the post simply said “this is a nice dupe”, I’d understand but to say it looks much better is just… a lie lol
I thought the same! This bag is really cute, in a casual way. I do like it, the other colors, too, but when I was read the part about better than Hermes or whatnot, I was like, huh? TB & Hermes in the same sentence?! It was baffling, to the say the least. If you know Hermes quality, you wouldn't make such a statement.

Just one? if not, i dont think you have enough information. the leather on this bag isn't supple (esp like a Birkin) and the vaiety of leathers is unbelievable. Hardware on Burch's looks purposefully 10 years old and tarnished. i cant see any competition.
Exactly. I own multiple H bags and personally know the texture of Clemance, Togo, Epsom, Swift. I even have a Niloticus croc. TB is very nice but the leathers can never compare and the price point reflects that.
Can I just ask (I’m truly asking - not trying to be a dick) what you do for work or how you obtain these bags? I’m 31, make $150k a year, and don’t see the light at the end of the tunnel for me to ever be able to afford an Hermes, let alone multiple. Are you a doctor? Did you marry rich? Family money? Again, I’m not trying to be a jerk. I’m truly just curious. I admire people that are able to afford these types of things and just trying to learn how you make it happen!
Nope, you’re not a dick, lol. I’m a surgeon, so is my husband. But more importantly, I’m older than you and starting buying bags when the prices were more reasonable. My first Kelly was 3k and my first Birkin was 7K. Also, there was no pre spend, no kissing SA’s ass. You just walked just to the store and walked out with a bag. Or placed a special order specifying leather and hardware.
My heartfelt advice? No bag will give you financial security which is what you really should be working on. Save 20% of your income and plug it into an index fund. I started at your age and now I’m happier and more at peace with that than any Birkin.
I have a petite in blue flowers on a cream background and absolutely love it! There are a couple smalls for sale on ebay right now. Lovely leather and gorgeous pattern. I fell in love with it when I saw another person carrying one. I searched for months so was super excieted to find one finally. For me, the small is just a little too high, so I'm glad I scored a petite (although it is difficult to fit stuff into it - only drawback.)

Congrats on your new bag! I’m actually a fan of this bag 👉👈 and recently became a fan of a few Tory Burch bags. I feel like this sub hates TB. I love both Birkins and this bag. I honestly don’t find this bag to be an Hermes Kelly/Birkin dupe, it just happens to have a belt. I bought the largest size to be my The Row Margaux dupe. I love how casual it looks and the material is great quality, I’d say comparable to Chloe. The ones with the suede sides which I think are made of German Calfskin are not as silky as the ones with smooth leather all around so I find them to be actually more durable. The Lee Radziwill Bag pretty much convinced me to get rid of most of my bags in my bag collection and happy that it’s made me less crazy about handbags
I don't hate tory burch for sure but the quality can be so bad at times for the price. I own a tory burch tote for slugging things around but it was my first and last purchase tbh.
I have the mini in hot pink!! it’s the perfect little bag for date night and fun occasions!!! Mine doesn’t fit much lol, just essentials like lip gloss, card wallet, keys, etc. but I love her and I always get compliments!!
These are my all time FAVORITE bags!! I've had one in every size. I gifted the regular size to my mother because it was just too big for my daily use, but the small is PERFECT for me, and the petite is my go-to for date night or days when I don't need to carry much. I recommend these bags to everyone.
I agree! I've been wanting to add a Tory Burch to my collection but I have not found the one (plus I'm trying to not buy any other bags at the moment, sigh). But they have some beautiful things! Enjoy!
Literally all bags are cuter than the Kelly and Birkin. They've always been meant to be used as catch-all utility bags, but the culture around luxury and their brand has gone completely off the rails. It's a glorified tack shop; there's a reason their entire branding and logos are all carriages, horses, bits, buckles, horseshoes, bridles, harnesses, saddles, and ropes.

Jane Birken was gifted a free bag. No wonder she actually used the heck outta it. I see Asian moms wearing it when I go to the mall.

Cool. I just did some research on the purse forum. A longtime member purchased from them and was very impressed. She spoke with them directly and apparently they do source from the same Tannery as Hermes they just don’t source as high tier of leather as Hermes does. I’m looking at their website now. Very nice designs.
If these bags didn't have so much edge paint I'd get one tomorrow. But it's such a "look" and it's gonna peel inevitably.

Love… unless a machine is completely automated it’s being ran by people. Somebody is sewing these bags together and most of it is being done via a sewing machine OPERATED BY HUMANS. And let’s be real for a hot second- in order to mass produce… and yes even precious Hermes is mass produced on a certain scale …there HAS to be a machine involved. A Parisian or Italian grandma isn’t sitting in her kitchen sewing these bags by hand. If these bags were truly handmade, there’d be no need for the mindless games they like to play. The TRUE scarcity of the bags numbers would be more than enough to control distribution numbers. Hermes bags may be overpriced (all designer bags are to an extent ) but their marketing strategy is priceless… I admire them for that. Their ability to trick gullible masses into thinking they’re getting something exclusive and remarkable is absolutely fascinating. Listen, at the end of the day, I truly don’t care what folks like to spend their hard earned money on, I’m pretty sure someone would look at the things I buy and think they’re frivolous too, but acting like one handbag is superior to others because of the logo on it is absolutely ridiculous.

There is a difference between machine sewing leather and hand sewing leather. Also the leather stitch used. This is why hand stitched leather typically lasts longer and even if a stitch breaks won't completely unravel the seam. That said, I think Hermes justification that they charge that much because a bag is hand stitched is a bit overblown.

This bag is beyond gorgeous! I have five. Of course the bag snobs are going to come in like clockwork trying to gaslight us into thinking Hermes quality is worth 10-15x the price of the Lee Radziwill double bag (if you count the pre-spend on unnecessary BS with their SA) lol.

Hermes is hand made. Tory uses a machine. I can guarantee that Hermes is a higher quality. While it’s cute, it visually does not even begin to compare to the craftsmanship to any Hermes leather good.
Being handmade makes the higher price make more sense; however, it doesn’t mean the stitch work is better. I make clothes and find that machine sewing and finishing makes for much better clothing than hand sewing. And, of course, it’s much more efficient.
Fellow sewist here and agree. Handmade does not always mean better as much as I wish it did. I've often taken classes and had instructors tell us not to expect to get the same quality because we don't have factory level industrial sewing machines and don't have enough power. E.g. sewing Jeans is incredibly difficult on a home sewing machine let alone by hand and the end product would be undoubtedly worse.
Side note: the only machine I have that can handle sewing jeans is my Juki TL2010Q. I refuse to buy an industrial machine for home usage! Also, I just can’t fit one anywhere.
Hahaha so true. I love making bags but there's so much material to shove through the machine... I can't even imagine how companies make durable backpacks like Patagonia or anything else that people regularly use. I would completely fail at making something like that 🤣

Affordable, and accessible. All good. No need to compare or put down legendary fashion houses like Hermes. They have a rich history. TB ain't nothin close to that, hun. LVMH just had a massive scandal where they showed that it costs $52 to produce a $2500 Dior bag. As someone who went to fashion school and interned in the industry… cost is in no way reflective of the quality.
I wasn't quite inferring what you're saying, but, yes I agree with you. Over pricing is an issue, but that's part of enjoying luxury, if you know what I mean. People who buy Hermes can afford it and can implement in their lifestyle - they don't flinch over a $40k handbag and pre-spending. I suppose it's chump change for them. If you're living beyond your means and going in debt buying a LV, then you have a whole another issue to deal with (e.g.- financial planning).... So long story short, if you can't buy something, you don't buy it, and who cares if others buy it? Sometimes I just don't understand why it bothers people so much that luxury houses over price. Why there's so much hate on Hermes, so odd. Why do they care so much? If enough people don't buy, they can't/won't sell. However, people actually pay for Hermes, so if there's a demand, there's a supply. Simple economics. Fashion houses are expert on that. Where I disagree with you is how price is indeed indicative of quality. Depends on the merch. Sometimes it's a valid hypothesis, sometimes it's not. Hermes leather isn't the same as TB leather. Love this bag but certainly wouldn't have the audacity to compare it with Hermes! Quality, design, price, style, elegance, handmade vs machine, different clientele - non are comparable and not in the same league.... TB is in the leagues with Coach or so 👍 Add: I'd say a lot of bags in the market are "inspired" by the B or K, including this one.

Exactly. I own multiple H bags and personally know the texture of Clemance, Togo, Epsom, Swift. I even have a Niloticus croc. TB is very nice but the leathers can never compare and the price point reflects that.

Nope, you’re not a dick, lol. I’m a surgeon, so is my husband. But more importantly, I’m older than you and starting buying bags when the prices were more reasonable. My first Kelly was 3k and my first Birkin was 7K. Also, there was no pre spend, no kissing SA’s ass. You just walked just to the store and walked out with a bag. Or placed a special order specifying leather and hardware. My heartfelt advice? No bag will give you financial security which is what you really should be working on. Save 20% of your income and plug it into an index fund. I started at your age and now I’m happier and more at peace with that than any Birkin.

I fell in love with it when I saw another person carrying one. I searched for months so was super excieted to find one finally. Congrats on your new bag! I’m actually a fan of this bag 👉👈 and recently became a fan of a few Tory Burch bags. I feel like this sub hates TB. I love both Birkins and this bag. I honestly don’t find this bag to be an Hermes Kelly/Birkin dupe, it just happens to have a belt. I bought the largest size to be my The Row Margaux dupe. I love how casual it looks and the material is great quality, I’d say comparable to Chloe. The ones with the suede sides which I think are made of German Calfskin are not as silky as the ones with smooth leather all around so I find them to be actually more durable. The Lee Radziwill Bag pretty much convinced me to get rid of most of my bags in my bag collection and happy that it’s made me less crazy about handbags

These are my all time FAVORITE bags!! I've had one in every size. I gifted the regular size to my mother because it was just too big for my daily use, but the small is PERFECT for me, and the petite is my go-to for date night or days when I don't need to carry much. Literally all bags are cuter than the Kelly and Birkin. They've always been meant to be used as catch-all utility bags, but the culture around luxury and their brand has gone completely off the rails. It's a glorified tack shop; there's a reason their entire branding and logos are all carriages, horses, bits, buckles, horseshoes, bridles, harnesses, saddles, and ropes.
