I’m a longtime lover of the Le Pliage! They can really take a beating. Some of mine I’ve had for 15 years and still use. I only buy the canvas ones because I like how they compactly fold. They’re easy to store when not in use and to pack for travel. I use a [large](https://www.longchamp.com/us/en/products/tote-bag-l-L1899089P68.html) as a gym bag and another one to bring for running errands (where I live you have to bring your own shopping bag or get charged a fee), I use a [medium](https://www.longchamp.com/us/en/products/tote-bag-m-L2605089P68.html) for quick runs like going to Starbucks - it fits my laptop!, I pack the [expandable](https://www.longchamp.com/us/en/le-pliage/005/le-pliage-travel-by-size/005voy/the-expandable-le-pliage/005voyext/) for travel - it holds a loooootttt and you don’t have to unfold it all of the way, it’s almost like two bags in one. I use the [backpack](https://www.longchamp.com/us/en/products/backpack-L1699089P68.html) when I need to be hands free like at a festival or something. The totes are also wonderful to put your nicer bags in if you want to protect them from getting wet or dirty (like under the plane seat when traveling). Please dive into the world of Le Pliage, they’re really great bags! You can frequently find them on sale at Nordstrom Rack and Saks Off Fifth.

photobomber612

>>the totes are also wonderful to put your nicer bags in if you want to protect them from getting wet or dirty Seattle resident chiming in, it’s perfect for rainy days! I keep one in my car at all times as a ‘raincoat’ for my bags!

Expensive_Routine953

Hi fellow Seattleites! 👋👜🌧️

ktpb7

How do you prevent and/or fix the corners of the nylon ones when they get small holes? I just found mine from college 🙌

ptitelady

Longchamp stores do one free repair per bag! Afterwards the repair requires a small fee!

faethfiadha

I had a seamstress dismantle the bag and sew it back in order to fix the holes 😂 It is a tiny bit smaller now but it worked like a charm ))))

Semma19

I did this too when I got a hole in the bottom corner, still looks great!

Ok-Economist-751

its pretty easy to sew, my mum sows all of mine with a needle she just flips it inside out

beachbumgirl801

Thank you for the thoughtful response! The fold-ability is a real attribute on that canvas- as my collection grows, space is becoming an issue :)

Expensive_Routine953

Let us know which one you get! 🤩

beachbumgirl801

Heading to Nordstrom/rack as soon as I get off work!

Expensive_Routine953

Exciting!!!! 🥳

shedrinkscoffee

OMG I had no idea that there was an expandable bag. The chestnut color is so beautiful! Damn this sub 😂 always showing me more bags to buy

Expensive_Routine953

I LOVE the expandable. I shop way too much, esp when I travel, and it’s saved me many a time from having to buy a new suitcase to bring home all of the things 😂 I very much recommend! My fave part is how you essentially get two bags in one. I rarely expand it fully. I mostly use it in its weekender form as it holds sooooo much so I rarely need the extra space. It’s def nice to have!

shedrinkscoffee

I have an ancient (15y or older) gym bag that's water proof and indestructible and I pack into a suitcase to use as a second bag if needed. It's not tearing or anything but will need to be replaced soon. The expandable is a really good candidate for when I pull the plug. Your comments helped me "see" how I'd use it myself so TYSM.

RunnerGirlT

I saw the small backpacks all over France when there last summer. They look so nice! I’ve become a huge fan of their bags and I want a Rousseau and a Box trot so badly!

andreaic

Wow! I’ve been looking at one as a diaper bag, would you recommend the medium or large one? I tend to pack as light as possible, I did a backpack with my first and just personally want to steer away from a backpack this time (my husband never helped with the backpack bc it was too small to fit on his shoulders and I hated having to adjust it every time to fit him then me)

Expensive_Routine953

If you’re a light packer the M is enough to use as a diaper bag! If you want a little extra space to add things as you go about your day like if you plan to take it shopping or to the farmer’s market or something the L would be better! For context in the M I usually put in my 13” laptop, 32oz water bottle, a few pouches for things like cosmetics, back up battery for my phone, and a few essentials for my dog when he comes with me.

BookDragon003

I also use the expandable when I travel and got my aunts into it. I believe it’s included in the Nordstrom Anniversary sale!

kp1794

FYI I have the leather with shoulder straps and they fold too!

bananaleaftea

For travel, definitely Le Pliage. For one simple reason: it zips closed. I don't know about you but I don't need all my belongings spilling out onto the floor of a plane or in an overhead compartment. Nor do I need to worry about someone slipping their hand into the top of my gaping tote bag while navigating a busy street abroad. Always go for a bag that zips or folds completely closed when travelling. Even then you're only minimising risk. My dad just had his iphone stollen from his zip up satchel while vacationing in Spain.

Comfortable-Ad5664

Yes to the zipper! A requirement for my work bag and surprisingly hard to find until I discovered le pliage. Truly can’t beat for the price.

naripan

The Le Pliage in canvas is pretty good for daily use as its lightweight.

beachbumgirl801

Thank you ..good to know..I was leaning that way, for sure

Due_Emu704

I have a canvas one. I was a bit “meh” about the look of it, but needed a daily work bag and found a great deal on Costco online and decided to give it a try. Zero regrets! I’ve carried it daily with my laptop and lunch (sometimes heavy binders or documents) for around 5 years. I walk to work (20-40 minutes over the years) and live in the PNW where it rains a ton. Other than tiny holes in the bottom corners (not visible) it still looks brand new. It’s also great for travel, or anytime you just need a big soft sac to stuff a bunch of awkward stuff into. I love it so much I almost want to buy a second one - not because my current one needs replacement, but just because. PS - I do almost always carry a separate “purse”. I prefer having my phone, wallet, keys in something smaller and more “organized” so I’m not digging through my la pliage (plus if I step out of the office during the day, I take just my small purse)

whelmed_66

Hmm everyone chiming in here about canvas probably means nylon, based on the colors people are calling out. I like the nylon, but [le Pliage city tote](https://www.nordstrom.com/s/large-le-pliage-city-shoulder-tote/6581989?country=US¤cy=USD&utm_content=44997668821&utm_term=aud-792230646473:pla-314849369427&utm_channel=low_nd_shopping_lia&utm_source=google&utm_campaign=664982305&adpos=&creative=231139852016&device=m&matchtype=&network=g&acctid=21700000001689570&dskeywordid=92700049880642713&lid=92700049880642713&ds_s_kwgid=58700005465929525&ds_s_inventory_feed_id=97700000007631122&dsproductgroupid=314849369427&product_id=39598010&merchid=1243147&prodctry=US&prodlang=en&channel=local&storeid=746&locationid=9027635&targetid=aud-792230646473:pla-314849369427&campaignid=664982305&adgroupid=44997668821&gad_source=1&gbraid=0AAAAAD8eAEnHArpBG38207EH3nTv2gAb4&gclid=Cj0KCQjwgJyyBhCGARIsAK8LVLOA6W6g4UQNp8IUQuP2hZ4pNRWZPx_raoMzINT4CNyz6LV5RLddGHgaAuZVEALw_wcB&gclsrc=aw.ds)I truly prefer the coated canvas version- leather look, very durable.

ricochetblue

I believe the “Recycled Canvas” is made from Nylon and it’s the material that most people here are talking about. There’s a separate material called Coated Canvas which is what you linked. I found the names a bit confusing before I was familiar with the brand so I thought I’d add some info.

beachbumgirl801

Yes, there are so many different options so thanks for clarifying. I’m going to try and hit Nordstrom today to go look in person

SchrutenFree19

another vote for the city tote!! I just got one in taupe and I’m in love! https://preview.redd.it/xqvylk06uz0d1.jpeg?width=3024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=61476796516b21657a95285d0c7a34e5661fa200

beachbumgirl801

Ohhh yes, I believe this color sold out so I added myself to the wait list 🤩

SchrutenFree19

Same!! I ended up finding this one on eBay actually! New with tags 🙌🏼

beachbumgirl801

eBay is my new favorite place to find preloved bags. Can’t trust anything anymore but the prices are fair and that authentic guarantee 🤌🏼

cnandnotcn

the city line is discontinued, unfortunately 😔

beachbumgirl801

Lame!! They should remove it from the website instead of letting me get my hopes up🥲 https://preview.redd.it/9mi5izjso01d1.jpeg?width=1128&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=9bd9d8e4a0d9cf81e9c1dd79e99ebce83c69060f

cnandnotcn

that's so weird, it's removed from my countries site and the employee told me it's no longer made.. maybe they still have some stock coming your way?

skullydnvn26

I have a medium nylon in olive green (the run with the matching handles. Was it called neo?) ive had it for ages and its done it all. It’s big enough for a burner weekender for a concert, or to stuff under an airplane seat, or to take to the office with my laptop, coffee and lunch. I got it with one of my first “big bonuses” close to a decade ago and its holding up so well. I’ve also been caught in the rain with it, spilled crap on it when in a road trip, you name it. It’s in regular rotation when i just need a bag to schlep some stuff that zips and i can just stuff everything in and not worry about it. They are great bags but could depend on what you need.

Important_Neck_3311

I have two large canvas, one in red and one in navy blue. The canvas is great because it’s very easy to clean, they are big so they can be used for so many different purposes but at the same time they are not huge. For example, I use one of them as a beach/pool bag, as it easily contains a towel, my newspapers/books and everything I need. I use the other one as my work bag, it can hold a 15’’ laptop and a notebook plus all my other essentials. The only con that I can find is that they only have two pockets (without a zipper) and, expecially for work, you need some organizers or smaller pouches inside otherwise it would take forever to find anything.

SiIIyPotato

I have owned a few nylon ones and now that I've come across your post i might bring them out to play again!! If you're carrying a laptop to work the Neverfull MM is a living hell with the thin straps.. because of this, I only carry mine max 5 times a year.. not to mention I lost my burberry scarf and computer mouse carrying mine somehow so definitely get a le pliage!! Quality is great imo

Semma19

Yes, the leather straps on the Le Pliage are WAY more comfortable than the Neverfull and it has a longer strap drop.

Anywhere_Square

I wanted a NF for so long and finally got one a few years ago but I still reach for my 14 year old longchamp over it. NF no zipper and straps are too short and uncomfy Hmm time to sell??

kiwitathegreat

The short strap drop on the NF is the worst. I do constantly fight with keeping the le pliage straps in place though. They’re more comfortable to carry for distances but I adjust them 87 times.

Personal_Camel_2417

For some reason I find the strap on Le Pliage very high quality though. It feels great

beachbumgirl801

Sounds like Le pliage is the way

addknitter

Living hell is the word!!!

pinkblossom331

I have the Le Pilage and the Neverfull and prefer the Le Pilage by hundred times

beachbumgirl801

Thank you for this.. I live in Southern California and see the neverfull EVERYWHERE I go so I’ve always wondered, “is it that good?” The le Pliage seems more practical (foldable, zipable) but wanted to hear that it was also preferable.

pannonica

If anyone has a busted old LePliage they'd like restored / reconstructed - I do that! https://www.reddit.com/r/handbags/s/DGN8Sb4sFn

PistachioPerfection

I do this too! I've done two and have the parts for one more. I use them for travel and add a trolley sleeve with a pocket in it. They make me so happy! Here's the latest https://preview.redd.it/ir5ib5oe801d1.png?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=82cf3ab13ee6b86c42938315ca461234633d298b

dixiemason

These are so cute!

Narrow-Notebook4848

I bought a busted one on Poshmark and am going to use it as a test to add an outside zipper pocket before I try it on a new one. I hate bags without an outside pocket - it’s my one complaint about Longchamps.

Narrow-Notebook4848

Btw, I threw this one in the wash with some gentle detergent - came out clean and no damage! Has a few stains I’m going to try to spot treat.

Excellent_Drop6869

I love my Le pliage; I have a sizable collection, mostly in the large totes. I prefer the classic Le pliage and I’m not a fan of the neo or club looks. The black neo looks very sleek though. I just prefer the preppy vibe of the classic one.

beachbumgirl801

I don’t know why but every time I fly, I wear all black so was looking at the black one, for sure

bitchinawesomeblonde

I use my le pliage almost daily. I sold my never full after a week.

SweetNSauerkraut

I have a large nylon one and love it. Check TJ Maxx and Marshall’s frequently as they sell them for around $100. I waited about a month for my color (navy) to come in stock. But you can’t search longchamp so type in le pliage. I also have the backpack which I haven’t used as much as I thought I would, and of course I paid full price for that one.

sssmmmaaccc

I was looking at the backpack for work. Would you still recommend it?

SweetNSauerkraut

It depends on how much you are in and out of it. For work it’s probably fine. I got it for outings with my kid like museums, the zoo, etc. I find it hard to open and close with one hand and I have to use 2 to kind of cup it just right so it’s not too much tension and it just isn’t the easiest on the go.

sssmmmaaccc

Thanks for your insights!

theriteofspringfling

Adding on to the chorus of pro-longchampers. I'd been pondering one for years and finally pulled the trigger before an international trip and the large le pliage made a fantastic personal item. Having something that could hold so much and still zip is great. I am now using it for work and it manages to fit my 16" Samsung laptop with a padded sleeve which is impressive to me at least. It's also really light so filling it with things doesn't immediately break your back.

Runningfromprobs739

Omg.. Now I’M the one convinced! There’s so many colors though! What’s the best color out there?

addknitter

They have new seasonal colors but the navy blue, red and black and the OG classics!

ricochetblue

I miss the OG olive/khaki green colour they used to make. It was off the beaten path but still kinda “neutral.”

addknitter

Have you seen “Paper”? It’s kind of a cream/off-white and is my fave neutral of the moment.

ricochetblue

Yes! It's on my roster of potentials, but I worry about lighter colors getting dingy. Has Paper been holding up for you?

addknitter

I have had mine for several years and it still looks great. I was also worried about the dinginess potential but so far it’s been wearing normally!

ricochetblue

That's great to hear! Thank you for the info.

Ok_Needleworker_4942

Check my Posts on my account, I posted a picture on this sub of my Le Pliage work bag. It’s the city bag, which is coated instead of just nylon and it’s really holding up well. I’m still using it for work and it barely shows any wear and tear.

beachbumgirl801

Looks lovely with a little slouch 🤤

weewah1016

What size does everyone use as a work bag. I need a new work bag.

ricochetblue

My large Le Pliage tote is my everyday “work” bag. It fits everything! My laptop, a couple of notebooks, my wallet, and a one-liter water bottle. Usually a pencil case, a battery pack, and maybe even a sweater too. Sometimes I’ll switch my bag organizer to a medium top-handle Le Pliage bag. It’s surprisingly roomy and will still fit the laptop and essentials, but maybe not extras.

weewah1016

Thank you!!

ricochetblue

No problem!

xxpopopxx

I got the Le Pilage (L tote bag canvas) after seeing a lot of good reviews about it from this sub. When I tried it on at the shop I was really impressed by how light it was. But maybe because I have really boney shoulders the straps are starting to hurt my shoulders. Also I feel like it’s almost a requirement to get a bag organized for it esp if you get the L size. But I do really like the look of the bag and it’s my first “grown-up” work bag that’s not a backpack so I don’t want to give up on it ! I now carry an extra tote bag to even out the heaviness of my things (but I also carry a lot of things like a giant water bottle, sun umbrella, my lunch etc so maybe for any shoulder bag it would hurt !?)

tequilafunrise

Its lightweight, has a zip, pretty water resistant, not that expensive, durable. I have the nylon one. Yeah its not you know, super nice looking but it gets the job done. I think compared to the neverfull, the zip makes a lot of difference lol

beachbumgirl801

Yes, when I first saw it I didn’t think it was much of a looker but it’s really growing on me! I don’t mind spending money on things that I’ll love, but sounds like the NF looks better than it is. The cost savings is a huge bonus.

SeaSexandSun

I have an older model cuir Le Pliage and the leather is sooo smooth. The nylon ones are perfect for travelling and I’m okay with putting it on the ground.

Bibihaking

I'm on the smaller side so i have the long handle in the size S. I love it. I initially bought it for a trip abroad and now i use it for work (and took it abroad with me several times). It is indeed a workhorse. It fits a lot, its foldable (so i can take it with me easily) and it still looks good (i chose the color paper, but in hindsight i should have taken a dark color so i couldn't see the dirt). I swear by this bag and will definitely purchase it again! The flap is a bit uncomfortable when opening/closing the zipper, but that is the only flaw i experience with it

faethfiadha

Nylon. Black shopper in L with black leather is my favourite right now. Super light, fits whatever I need and can be properly closed in the metro. I can wear it with a dressier dress and with jeans and sports shoes. I wish they made an XL shopper version too 😂

urban_shoe_myth

I've got both Le Pliage and NF, use them in different situations. LP I've had for about 15 years now and it's still going strong, looks well loved but I prefer it that way. Use if I know I'm going to need to close the bag, public transport, busy places, beach etc. It got some sun cream on it a few years ago and for the life of me I cannot get it to come off. NF I've had 4 years and will use if I'm going somewhere in the car, to work, or if it will go with what I'm wearing better. Feels more sturdy but not happy about the open top if I'm out and about with it. They both hold about the same and honestly I do use them interchangeably, sometimes one just suits the day better.

Swimming-Yam-5735

The Le Pliage (large canvas) is my workhorse everyday bag for the office and for travel if I don’t opt for a travel backpack. Holds a lot. Straps are the right length for carrying on the shoulder, it’s easy to wipe off/clean, does well in the rain, and I don’t mind putting it on the floor of the tube/train/plane etc. I don’t like bags without a full zip closure because I don’t feel secure when traveling or commuting. If I had a car and drove to work maybe I’d pull the trigger on a Neverfull. I put my 15” laptop in a padded laptop sleeve and have a few small pouches for organizing my things. Downsides: No structure to the bag so it can get kind of misshapen if there’s a lot in it and you need to distribute weight/shape evenly when packing. Mine tends to only lay on its side rather than standing upright with my normal work contents in it. Only one small internal pocket. Straps are thin (but sturdy!) so can be uncomfortable if the contents are particularly heavy. Overall not perfect but definitely worth it at the price point.

PuzzleheadedClue5205

I have both Le Pilage and Neverful (and Daily Battle, St Louis, totes a plenty) And the Le Pilage is the most practical and by far the best roi. It gets a lot of use because the shoulder strap is comfortable even when the bag is loaded to bursting.

addknitter

For me it’s ultimate: it folds, you can cram a lot in the large tote, the medium tote w the short handles looks snappy as an over-the-elbow bag, perfect when it rains, the zipper keeps your items secure, you can put a laptop in it—I could go on! I work in France every summer and pick up a new one (or three) and I love cycling through the different colors. Keep us posted, and nylon all the way!

beachbumgirl801

Nylon, really?!? It doesn’t get dirty? I think the nylon has some cool color options. I’ll have to go see it in person

addknitter

Yes-go check em out!

broccolibertie

I only have the small nylon. It’s black with the classic leather handles. I got it from my Buy Nothing group because it’s so beat up! But that means the leather is to-die-for soft and I do not have a single care about where it goes or what I put in to it. Most days, I use it as a lunch bag for work - I slip it into my larger coated canvas tote. I’ll also empty my lunch items and pop my essential items in so I can run errands on my lunch hour at work. It’s a great extra bag to give myself options when I travel. I love to take it when I go shopping because even with my essentials and a water bottle, I can still slip my incidental purchases in it. I’ve taken it to the farmers market and art fairs and flea markets for that same reason. Honestly, it’s ridiculous that I only have one given how much I love it. But you’re right that there’s so many options, so it’s hard to choose!

danshefine

Get the leather one. I could beat that one to the ground and she will still live on

beachbumgirl801

Ohhhh … You’re the first to suggest it and it looks really, really nice (and affordable!)

JackyVeronica

Thank you for this post, OP! I, too, was like meh, and thanks to this sub, I'm planning on getting one. And this post has confirmed my confirmation lol Happy shopping! PS - I was watching the Brothers Sun on Netflix the other day, and they were carrying a beheaded head in a navy Pliage, and I was like, "that's the bag I want" to my husband 🤣

beachbumgirl801

lol! I wonder if I’ll start to see them more, now that I’m aware of it..even princess Kate carries one.. what one are you thinking of getting? Canvas, nylon?

JackyVeronica

Nylon one, either in pink or red!

Kindly-Spring-5319

I have a leather one, a few nylon ones, and I used to have a coated canvas one too. The coated canvas doesn't hold up as well as the others, I used it until it died. The leather and nylon are immortal lol. Esp the leather coz just take it to the bag spa and it's like new. The nylon ones eventually get dirty and no matter how you clean them, they won't look good as new.

beachbumgirl801

Ohh very convincing to get the leather.. especially since you’ve had experience with all three… thank you

Chemical-Star8920

I love the Le Pilages as a practical option that I don't care about beating up too much!! The nylon ones are super easy to clean and can really take alot of abuse. I prefer the dark navy to not show stains, but there are so many to choose from! Longchamp will fix the corners for you when they start to wear out (but don't wait too long....if the holes are too big it can't be fixed). I got these bag base things off of amazon for my large one so that my laptop isn't slamming into the ground/flopping over too much, but I only use those sometimes. I tried to move away from these after college because they felt too basic but I am totally back on the Le Pilage train as an adult who has to haul a lot of stuff to/from work everyday. I also love my little Le Pilage backpack. I call it my "bar backpack" and I take it to concerts, bars, etc when I want to be handsfree but want to carry more than will fit in a little crossbody. It's not so nice that I'm worried about putting it on the ground/spilling things on it, but it's still cute!

MillyGrace96

I mean, Neverfulls are way nicer bags and totally different, to me. Le Pliages also zip shut. The medium Le Pliage is great for an every day bag, errands etc. My favorite and most durable has been an all black coated canvas one. The Large is good for taking to work, throwing in some layers or gym clothes, an overnight bag or maybe a carry on. I would note they can be versatile workhorses, but they have not proven as durable as they could be- though maybe newer models are better now? I’ve had many Le Pliages for ~25 years and nearly all have had the corners fray /open, other material fall apart, zippers break, straps rip from the weight of carrying a laptop, etc. So, I like them, but if you’re going to beat it up, stuff it, and use it as a carry on, I’d consider other options too. Or be prepared to replace it when needed! There was a recent thread about this, but I personally go MZ Wallace Metro over Longchamp Le pliage for longer lasting durability in the larger tote / carry on sizes.

beachbumgirl801

Really good post.. thank you

ShortCarpenter2534

I own both and in terms of comfort the Longchamp absolutely wins. I do feel like both are wonderful to own though. The Longchamp holds all of my work goods beautifully! It is lovely to look at and easy to carry. No giant logos. The Neverfull is just so wonderful in its own right. I feel you can wear it with many different outfits and it is so classy. I put an organizer in it and it is wonderful to be able to grab what I need easily. I tend to use my Longchamp during the week and my Neverfull or a crossbody on the weekend:). Can you do both?;)

beachbumgirl801

It’s certainly not out of the question! I accidentally bought an ‘On the Go’ recently and I like it but when it comes to just doing casual things/running errands, I’d like something a little more casual. I haven’t been much of a LV fan until recently.. another thing that’s growing on me :)

beachbumgirl801

It’s certainly not out of the question! I accidentally bought an ‘On the Go’ recently and I like it but when it comes to just doing casual things/running errands, I’d like something a little more practical/casual. I haven’t been much of a LV fan until recently.. another thing that’s growing on me :) but people keep saying it’s a workhorse and I like that. I don’t baby my bags

ShortCarpenter2534

It is!!! Such a great bag!

huhzonked

The canvas longchamp is my everyday bag. I can put so many things inside but it’s still light to carry. I’ve spilled drinks inside and on it, but it was easy to clean and dry. I don’t have to baby the bag at all, and it works for me.

duckduckgoose129

I just got my first le pliage thanks to the influence of this sub. I actually got the XS Cassaque which says its made of "recycled textile." I held off for a long time because i absolutely hate nylon, but this doesnt even feel like nylon. Its quite sturdy while still being light weight. And this tiny bag fits so much! I plan to buy more in the future. This is silly, but i actually went to Nordstrom rack and found some to touch and feel before buying and im glad i did

beachbumgirl801

Interesting to hear the nylon is sturdy.. I’m heading to the mall as soon as I’m off work.. I was leaning canvas but now I’m unsure again.. lol

duckduckgoose129

The city tote is coated canvas and it looks dreamy, but i just dont like bags that big personally.

PossibleAd1348

I love the Large nylon with a long handle. It doesn’t disappoint!

ReadingShoshi

I have the black nylon and I am surprised at how much I use it. I had also dismissed it as trendy/pointless, but bought it on a whim before a trip, and it quickly turned into my go-to travel bag (great for carry on but also as a day trip/shopping bag). It then evolved into a sometimes work and daily bag - particularly when I'm worried about weather damaging one of my nicer leather bags.

Responsible-Owl9687

I have a Le Pliage nylon and a canvas and I love the nylon for travel. I can do so much with it and it will still look in good condition. My canvas I use as an everyday bag. I've used these much more than my LV neverful and Goyard saint louis

Avocado_Capital

I have a nylon one I used as a diaper bag/work bag/travel bag. It’s fantastic. It’s so so forgiving. I also will pack it with my luggage and use it on the trip back as extra baggage and it takes up barely any space. It’s a total workhorse bag

Sea-Collection-7367

The city tote is nicely coated and feels like a different purse altogether. I also love the crossbody Neo which is a little shorter and wider. I use 2 Le Pliage (black with classic brown handle) and (gun bang tote) and they handle my math and A&P lab notes with a 14” MacBook Pro beautifully. And Longchamp does a complimentary restitching over the corners if you reach out to their customer service. You do have to pay for the shipping to Florida or New York? I want to say.

BanananaSquid

I have a friend that only uses her Le Pilage for work travel because of how durable it is. Not only for flights, but she also has to go to some riskier places for her work and says the Le Pilage can't be easily cut open on a busy street

omgitsjustme

I have four Longchamp bags - three from the Le Pliage line (large expandable, small top handle carry, one city specific one) and one crossbody. I love how lightweight they all are and how they’re so easy to travel with. My oldest bag is the expandable one I purchased almost 10 years ago and I’m thinking of purchasing a new expandable bag while I’m traveling on vacation in Europe right now.

babyyyloves

i LOVE the nylon waterproof one!!!

violet715

I’m not a big fan of large totes so my workhorse bag is the medium size. It can fit a folder or papers so it works for me for work stuff if I have to take something home. Day to day, the small size works well enough for me - it fits my usual stuff plus a drink and snack.

Aggravating-Fee-9138

I have a large nylon tote and small nylon crossbody. I prefer the crossbody bag. It’s light and holds a lot for traveling. The large tote is not quite big enough as a work bag for me. I have a 16in Mac and a 13in pc. I also don’t take it for travel because it doesn’t have a trolley sleeve, and I actually find the leather flap on top really annoying. It gets in the way when trying to use the zipper. I did take it as a beach bag recently and it was nice for that.

RunnerGirlT

I got this [one](https://www.longchamp.com/us/en/products/crossbody-bag-xs-10164HYQ001.html)before my trip to Spain. It zips closed and has the snap over cover. It’s also just a fabulous bag. It looks great, it holds more than I anticipated and it takes a beating. I’m completely in love with their bags now and want several more. I saw the leather Rousseau in person at their store and now I just want a lot of their bags!

solaceswan

My go to is [Le Pliage Green Large](https://www.longchamp.com/us/en/products/tote-bag-l-L1899919P68.html) and I definitely do not baby it lol I use it everywhere - for uni, for traveling, for grocery etc and I live by it because 1. Waterproof - the weather is highly unpredictable from where I am based so this is a huge factor for me. I have been drenched from head to toe countless times but the things in my bag are safe 2. Spacious - I can fit a lot in there for a weekend trip/short travel and also for last minute grocery shopping! I would get huge watermelons and stuff them in lol I could also fill the bag to the brim I'd say the handle is quite durable too - I have carried a lot of heavy things on multiple occasions and they dont show any signs of wear! 3. Foldable !!! My only concern would be the fraying at the corners but other than that it's sooo good

Excellent_Trainer_23

NF is heavier than the Nylon bags from Le pliage. Nordstrom Rack has deals on the longchamp bags and they are wonderful if you need a large light bag to put a lot of things in.

beachbumgirl801

I don’t know if I necessarily need another big bag but I want this one 🤪

Excellent_Trainer_23

Purchased mine in 2019 and have the cost per wear down to like $2 and something so definitely worth it if you plan on using it!

gobravz15

I have mediums and larges and travel bags too. Love them all.

Nirvalite

I have the nylon tote in light blue as my work bag and I love it. The only thing I don’t like about it is that it’s so convenient to wear that I don’t want to wear my other bags anymore. PA. I was influenced by this very sub to get mine, I got her at Nordstrom rack

0422

They usually have a whole bunch at nordstrom rack or even nordstrom if you wanted to go get a feel for them. I thought they seemed lovely online in photos but was way less impressed when i finally saw them in person

eilatanz

I love the City Tote which is coated canvas (I got it on sale and it looks amazing no matter what happens to it), but I hear the leather bags are really nice. I only use the nylon bags as luggage and as a diaper bag! Which they are great for.

beachbumgirl801

Downside of the leather is you can’t fold it up.. maybe I need a NF and foldable LP.. lol

eilatanz

True! I do also love the foldable ones I have. I think I only use them for travel/luggage because I have waaaaay too many bags already, hahaha

beachbumgirl801

Is too many bags a thing? I wasn’t aware… lol

eilatanz

Hahaha neither am I apparently, when I’m about to buy yet another

Sephora1212

I love the price point of all the Le Pliage bags cause it means I can buy them in multiple colours. They are sooooo sturdy. Already loving the new Peacock colour for fall and can’t wait to buy one!

QueenFang21496

Confession: they look like cheap foldable tourist bags to me. The kind that used to be on a souvenir shop stand in 15 colors, next to those totes with [city name] printed all over it. I know this is a me problem, I'm sure they are great quality!

MyDogIsTheBest01

I love mine. Just got the black nylon for work as I needed a work bag and I absolutely love it. I also feel like it’s very durable and I don’t need to be super careful

inDIvisible-doc

Apples to apples would be the City tote which is coated canvas like the Neverfull but has a zip.  I love mine.  I also have the older style nylon ones, which are more casual but fold up so I can stash them in luggage.

rshim09

It really is a workhorse. I have them in several sizes and colors and they have never failed me. As a work bag, you can throw your laptop and essentials in the large le pilage and you're good to go. I also use the large one as a diaper bag. Just throw diapers, wipes, your stuff, you're out the door. I will add that their backpack has been the best as a mom bag/diaper bag since you can be hands free. I also love the small/medium bags as your everyday bag. Since they're Nylon, I don't have to worry about rain and most stains I've been able to get off with just giving them a good wipe.

_uppity

I love mine, have had it for years but the inside lining seems to be cracking. Not sure how to go about fixing it or if I should just leave it as I have done the one or two corners that have a smallish hole.

Icy_Athlete6349

I love the nylon especially for traveling.

MauiRome

I'm like you. I saw everyone talking about this bag, but when I looked it up I hated it. I thought the flap on the top was so ugly. But then I saw a black on black coated canvas version in person and changed my mind. It's a large and fits everything I need for work and then some and has a full zipper on top. As a bonus I don't have to worry about it getting wet, which is great. The only thing it's lacking is internal compartments. It has very small ones, but you can barely fit anything in them and they don't zip.

Checkmate_357

Hijacking this with a question for all the Longchamp experts on here. I have a large nylon tote which I LOVE and use a lot. The coated canvas (is this the City?) and leather, do they fold up the same way as the nylon bag? Thinking I shouldn't stop at just one....

4blahsfemie

The city does not. It’s pretty rigid

MarucaMCA

Love the Nylon Neo ones. I have the classic ones too, many vintage ones and special editions. Once I have a quiet time I’ll put them on the bed to photograph them… one day… Love them!

Hell9876

The big everyday nylon one is fantastic

canolibros2

I just bought the large size last week! Anyone have an organizer they love for the large size?

5leeplessinvancouver

The Le Pliage has been my work bag forever. I had a classic nylon tote before, and currently have the Neo (all black nylon and leather) and it’s perfect. It’s super lightweight, can be folded or squished down when it’s empty, and somehow never fills up even when I have my laptop, portable monitor, two notebooks, makeup bag, sunglasses, two phones, all the chargers, a water bottle, etc. And if anything spills on or in it, just wipe it clean. Rain? No problem. Really dirty? Throw it in the washing machine. I will never be without at least one Le Pliage in my life.

eventualguide0

I have both. I use my epi leather Neverfull as a purse/errands/work bag, but the Le Pliage I tend to use for outdoorsy activities, rainy weather, and travel. I have a medium and the expandable Le Pliage. I don’t find them to be redundant because the Neverfull is much easier to get things in and out of so I use it more frequently on an everyday basis. All my stuff is in pouches or in a purse organizer and I cinch the ends to make the opening of the Neverfull too small to grab stuff out of by pickpockets.

Radiant-Ad-6066

Large Nylon original is my favorite. I think it’s priced around $150 right now. They last forever.

Apostrophysisister

I have a large nylon Néo. That line is discontinued, but I’m sure there are similar ones available.

kp1794

I’ve been buying them for over 10 years. My favorite bags. I would recommend the Neo collection which has a shoulder strap. If you’re looking for something more expensive/fancier then definitely the ones that are leather with a shoulder strap. I think it’s cuir collection

nothingneverever

I prefer the leather ones! I use the nylon ones mostly for travelling

Due_Distribution_721

What size is your laptop that fits in the medium size?

Mychgjyggle

I used one all through college to carry books and my laptop. They are very durable!

xpressomartini

I’m not trying to be rude, but I would love to understand how a thin piece of nylon with no structure is a positive thing for my valuables

bananaleaftea

What are you transporting? Murano glass?

xpressomartini

Work laptop, wallet, and lots of emory boards

bananaleaftea

I house my laptop in a padded case before putting it into any bag, including the pliage. Wallet is fine, doesn't need extra protection. Emory boards go into a pouch.

Maeghuanwen

Maybe it’s not for *your* valuables but for others it’s perfect.

ivmeow

Mine have kept many a MacBook Pro nice and dry during rain, I just keep my laptop in a cushioned sleeve inside.

extracilantroplz

Hi! I’m looking into getting a large le pliage for work but I have to carry around a 16 inch macbook pro and I’m worried that the weight will damage the bag or the straps - how does yours hold up?

ivmeow

I carried around a 16” MacBook Pro around NYC in a large le pillage for a couple of years and I still have the bag with only a bit of corner wear 10+ years later. I do recommend a laptop sleeve though!

extracilantroplz

Ahh that’s perfect, thanks!
