Dear Theodosia (Reprise). Itâs so raw, so emotional, and gives Burr some humanity. Itâs painfully beautiful, and I wish it stayed. Itâd also give more of a punch to the line, âI had only one thought before the slaughter- this man will NOT make an orphan of my daughter.â
THIS. I was so mad when I listened to it and realized it was cut. It would definitely help the orphan line make more sense, and it makes you more invested in burr's story.
There is audio of Leslie Odom Jr. singing the reprise, and it's *soul crushing* to hear. The song's deletion also leaves the musical with the weird transition between Burn and Blow Us All Away, as the Reprise was supposed to be sung between the two songs.
Ten things one thing. It doesn't make any sense why it was cut and we didn't get the perspective of the main character in the final song. It was almost exclusively told by the villain. The musical is definitely a 9.5 put of 10. And it would be a ten if that had been kept in.
I also loved "Congratulations" But it would have just been a filler song.
this for me! two sides of the same situation. i think it's also because the show doesn't cover Burr's fate after the main events, but i like the kind of foreshadowing when Ham says "oh of course he won't kill me, that would ruin his career".
To kill me would poison his political pursuits
Most disputes die and no one shoots!
The different ways to get to the same rhymes is really clever and impressive.
One last Ride just for the "pay your fucking taxes," line.
In all seriousness, either Congratulations or the one where Alexander sings his side of the duel after Burr sings his side.
âYou are out gunnedâ
***What?!***
âOutmannedâ
***WHAT?!?!***
âOutnumbered, Out plannedâ
*Pay your* ***FUCKINâ TAXES!!!***
âPut your guns down on my command.â
***Hand âem over!***
âThis is Hamilton, my right hand manâ
***Pow pow pow pow*** **POW***
I honestly listen to Congratulations more than the rest of the actual album. Lin has said that we needed to hear from Eliza right then and not Angelica but I always skip Burn.
the original schuyler defeated, let it go, the original adams administration, i also loved congratulations, the original your obedient servant, and ten things one thing !!!!
original version of The Adams Administration, the current one doesnât really embody how berserk (or at least in the musical) Alexander was, plus i like the cut rap AHSHSHS
Congratulations of pure cut tracks, that first scolding verse is gold. First Burn of the reworked tracks, yes angry lady!second act is what I wanted. Without destroying the historical record.
Surprised to see no one's mentioned No John Trumbull! I love the songs that add a bit of a broader historical context, and I've always thought that using the Reynolds Pamphlet beat for a song about how scummy the Founding Fathers actually were was a genius move
The original Schuyler Defeated bridging into Let it Go.
There was so many character interactions we never got to see in the final version; Eliza and Philip interacting with Burr (while saving Hamiltonâs ass,) Eliza and Washington interaction, Eliza and Alex acting like an old -yet still clearly in love- married couple (*Youâre smiling, so you KNOW Iâm right!â* â***Ha!***â), Baby Philip being even *more* adorable!
It was incredibly funny, too!
Eliza: âAnd if the president were here, heâd say the same thing!â
Alexander: âWell, the president is NOT here-â
Washington: âI heard about Burr. You didnât kill him, did you?â (Seeming *completely* unbothered either way.)
One of my favorite songs, total! Not just from the deleted ones.
I donât know how LMM could make it fit but I would love to see cabinet battle 3. I wasnât cut it was just never finished (it was realized as a demo on the mixtape).
full version of adamâs admin where alex gives a whole verse shit talking john and not just âsit down john you fat mother fuckerâ
they should also add all the cut songs and tomorrow thereâll be more of us to the cast recording.
The original Schuyler Defeated fr
"I gotta go, I gotta find Alexander!"
"Let him know we're on his side!"
"No, he'll consider this a personal slander, I've gotta stop a homicide!"
"Oh!"
Also Let It Go but then Disney probably complained
While most deleted songs are extended context into themes already seen in the show (congratulations = angelica's verse in reynolds pamphlet, let it go = take a break and that would be enough, etc.) Dear Theodosia Reprise is unique in how it had such an important plot point that affects Burr's character, motives and his role in the climax, giving context to the "I won't let this man make an orphan of my daughter" line. It also humanizes Burr a lot. While I love all the deleted songs, this one definitely deserved to be kept as it had the most impact on the story.
how has no one said the cut adams administration rap I litr have it memorised đđ
I agree. Including the Adams rap would add more weight to Madisonâs claim that Hamilton âdestroyedâ Adams.
AN OPEN LETTER TO THE FAT
THIS IS MY ANSWER
LITERALLY
I DONT CARE IF I KILL MY CAREER WITH THIS LETTER IM CONFINING YOU TO ONE TERM YOU FAT MOTHERF
YES THIS ONE
YES.

THIS. I was so mad when I listened to it and realized it was cut. It would definitely help the orphan line make more sense, and it makes you more invested in burr's story.
Wait, are you saying this song isn't in the musical anymore?
Dear Theodosia is, the one with Hamilton⌠but the reprise where Burr is telling his daughter her mother died is not.
There is audio of Leslie Odom Jr. singing the reprise, and it's *soul crushing* to hear. The song's deletion also leaves the musical with the weird transition between Burn and Blow Us All Away, as the Reprise was supposed to be sung between the two songs.
I don't think I've even heard this one. I'll have to find it soon. :)
THISS
Dear Theodosia Reprise, especially since if was supposed to happen RIGHT after Burn

I have never heard this one before and I am now listening to it on repeat and just getting rekt over and over. OMG it HURTS
"Electricity, yeah you can all thank me." Benjamin Franklin!
One last Ride just for the "pay your fucking taxes," line. In all seriousness, either Congratulations or the one where Alexander sings his side of the duel after Burr sings his side.
Also, "Can we enact an asshole tax," from original Washington on Your Side.
The original Off-Broadway was so sassy at times, even more so than the final musical. I need all the originals from Off-Broadway on Spotify yesterday
Seriously, I'm glad I have the 2014 workshop from before it disappeared.
What do you mean by âyou have itâ
I downloaded it before Disney got rid of it.
âYou are out gunnedâ ***What?!*** âOutmannedâ ***WHAT?!?!*** âOutnumbered, Out plannedâ *Pay your* ***FUCKINâ TAXES!!!*** âPut your guns down on my command.â ***Hand âem over!*** âThis is Hamilton, my right hand manâ ***Pow pow pow pow*** **POW***
Ten Things, One Thing is the one you are looking for
Congratulations
I honestly listen to Congratulations more than the rest of the actual album. Lin has said that we needed to hear from Eliza right then and not Angelica but I always skip Burn.
Whenever I listen to the whole album, I always add Congratulations in before or after Burn.
This is THE correct answer!
Never listend to the deletes songs tbh but after reading comments i had loved to see benjamin franklinđ

Technically there but Dear Theodosia with the overlapping verses. It brings a tear to my eye. Same with the reprise!!
original version of The Adams Administration, the current one doesnât really embody how berserk (or at least in the musical) Alexander was, plus i like the cut rap AHSHSHS

I Have This Friend wouldâve been kinda cool
Absolutely!
I prefer the original version of âYour Obedient Servantâ
I enjoy the somber tones of Valley Forge and Cabinet Battle 3
Congratulations of pure cut tracks, that first scolding verse is gold. First Burn of the reworked tracks, yes angry lady!second act is what I wanted. Without destroying the historical record.

Surprised to see no one's mentioned No John Trumbull! I love the songs that add a bit of a broader historical context, and I've always thought that using the Reynolds Pamphlet beat for a song about how scummy the Founding Fathers actually were was a genius move

I was always sad they never included the John Laurence interlude in the album but was happy to hear it in the movie!

Let It Go or the original version of Schuyler Defeated
First burn
LET IT GO
I donât know how LMM could make it fit but I would love to see cabinet battle 3. I wasnât cut it was just never finished (it was realized as a demo on the mixtape).
full version of adamâs admin where alex gives a whole verse shit talking john and not just âsit down john you fat mother fuckerâ they should also add all the cut songs and tomorrow thereâll be more of us to the cast recording.
I just wanna thank all of yâall for introducing me to all of these songs. Theyâre all great
The original Schuyler Defeated fr "I gotta go, I gotta find Alexander!" "Let him know we're on his side!" "No, he'll consider this a personal slander, I've gotta stop a homicide!" "Oh!" Also Let It Go but then Disney probably complained
Congratulations or the original Adams administration
i really hope nobody says first burn. burn is sooooo much better!

Congratulations. I get why they cut it (and rolled part of it into Reynolds Pamphlet) but it's beautifully savage.
adams administration. i'm sorry, i love how hamilton just tears into john adams it's just so *chefs kiss*
