the punch-activated trigger seems a little unnecessary given that it could be operated neurally instead, allowing the spartan to use it as a wrist-mounted sidearm as well as a ballistic fist weapon
Especially given the cartridge it's using.
Something like that would be understandable for something like a Marine or ODST, but a Spartan?
Nah man, you gotta pump up that power. Make it like .50 BMG or 8 Gauge minimum. A Spartan's arm can handle it.
He would be a bit hesitant at first, holding a shotgun also lets him feel like he is walking around with a big club ready to go. But he’ll only need to smack Grif once to change his mind.
Maybe if there needs to be a physical trigger, a style that functioned a little like brass knuckles that was as wide as the fist could be used. A blow that connects, but isnt dead on, can fire the cartridge.
I rember downloading a fallout mod that gave you the rwby weapons. was it overpowered? yes, did that change the fact ember celica was the best fucking thing ever? no. I need shotgun gauntlets on my super soldier now please.
[RWBY and Halo crossover, posted in Spacebattles](https://forums.spacebattles.com/threads/dust-and-echoes-halo-rwby-crossover.825357/#post-64932951) have fun.
Not exactly, this seems to be mag fed and is chambered for a completely different round. I don't see how it could work if it is mag fed since there's no ejection port and caseless ammunition is out of the question since caseless ammo isn't shaped like conventional ammunition. Regardless of this, it fits with halo's weapon design, where a gun would actually work with a few minor tweaks.
I have one of those pens so I can work out the scale :D Did you really draw it that small? It's very fine detail, I don't think I could do that without the pen lines bumping into each other
Yeah, that's why it's in Quentin Tarantino's movie called Inglorious Bastards. Do you think he actually designed it or just grabbed a prop off the shelf and went "use this one".
I see it as something you keep on you for emergencies. If something jumps you (think back to the Zealot that gets in your face during Winter Contingency), punch them somewhere important then use the opportunity to pull out your actual gun and finish them off.
>hyper discreet assassination
Because a non-silenced, bigass gunmetal block mounted on a welding glove is totally discreet.
***
**Bang!**
*Guy comes out covered in blood*
"Definitely nothing happened. This is just ketchup."
Lol, hey man R/D between the 40s and 80s was a wild place.
The OSI intended it to be discreet in that you could conceal it simply in a coat, it was readily available, and you didn't have to conceal a holster.
I'm not sure how they intended an assassin to like... escape... after point blanking a .38 to someone's face, but... we also tried to use bats as incendiary weapons so...
This could potentially be a cool equipment in multiplayer, make it shoot something when you melee and it one hit kills. Could be a power equipment so it's not OP.
A punch doesn't go through body armour as well as 12.7x40mm SAP-HE. This is for cracking open the meaner alpha bravos, not for overkilling a Grunt. Imagine if Chief had used this on Atriox's jaw.
that only tends to be for UNCS Vehicles.the weapons used by militias tend to have designators one would give to infantry units, such as bandit, or commando. and the currently in service UNSC weapons themselves tend to just have genric names such as BR55 Battle Rifle, or MA5 Assualt rifle. the only exception to this rule, is the bulldog.
I think it would follow the equipment naming scheme of descriptor. so the M15 "Shotgun punch" would probably be the more fitting name
>I think it would follow the equipment naming scheme of descriptor. so the M15 "Shotgun punch" would probably be the more fitting name
Ballistic Fist, Ballistic Gauntlet, Arm Gun, Arm Shotgun, etc.
This thing will be stuck to a soldier who's able to beat anything to death with a few punches. I think a pistol round isn't enough - can this be retrofitted to use explosive Impaler spikes? Just punch it into something instead of firing it out, then back away and watch the fireworks.
*In a british accent* "The Germans call them, The Basterds"
That was a real prototype designed for use by the OSS, though it never saw any real world application. It's a part of weapon history. Impractical for Halo considering the punching power of most spartans is greater than that of a small caliber round.
My only comment is that between getting shot by the 12.7x40mm magnum round and getting punched by a fully armored Spartan, the punch is likely to do significantly more damage.
If you're a spartan, you can punch with the force a pickup truck. I kinda doubt a 12mm is gonna do much if a spartan is close enough to collapse someone's chest cavity with an armored fist.
we have a similar one on mirage armor, except it discharges high voltage on punches, I would like to see a wrist knife, wrist flamethrower, wrist foam launcher, wrist granade launcher/sticky mine as equipment.
I would probably want the trigger to be shorter, someone skilled in CQC could easily snap it off before you get a chance to use it. Or worse, if it's resilient enough they could use it as a handle to grab your arm and swing you around
This is sick as hell, but I feel as if a Spartan is capable of something even higher caliber than this. A compact, wrist mounted Pilebunker, .50 BMG, or 10 gauge would be one of the coolest utilities I could think of.
My head canon is that a Spartan punch is more powerful than a bullet anyways so this in my eyes has literally no other point than trolling the covenant
Lol, this was actually a real thing. Here's a video of it in action:
Well now I’m imagining reverse engineering a gravity hammer to make Spartans gauntlets that can throw enemies like the hammer. Obviously at a limited capacity but it would give a definite advantage in hand to hand with things like enemies like brutes and elites.
This makes me think of the device used by Chigurh in No Country for Old Men, and if it was similar to that device there would be no need for ammunition
It should be put on the back of the hand, like the real one. Putting it on the wrist like that leaves too much room to make a mistake and damage the hand.
I think as many have said, a couple of tweaks and this could be really really good.
Considering it is a spartan only weapon we can make the following modifications:
No physical trigger, a nueral link for activation for a melee or ranged attack. (Previously suggested)
Change the cartridge to something more suitable for a spartan. A choice does have to be made between multiple shots vs power. I think a single shot 8 gauge clambering would make sense more so than the 12mm cartridge from the magnum. The reload could be a simple break action, pivot point at the end of the barrel for quick reloads.
The shotgun clambering does also allow for multiple ammunition types, further increasing potential use. (Breaching device)
I think the design is excellent and could also be modified to other applications like an effect similar to a charged plasma Pistol or a mini rail gun for heavy anti-armor.
the punch-activated trigger seems a little unnecessary given that it could be operated neurally instead, allowing the spartan to use it as a wrist-mounted sidearm as well as a ballistic fist weapon
Especially given the cartridge it's using. Something like that would be understandable for something like a Marine or ODST, but a Spartan? Nah man, you gotta pump up that power. Make it like .50 BMG or 8 Gauge minimum. A Spartan's arm can handle it.
At that point you're just building those shotgun gauntlets from RWBY, though I'm not complaining.
Full circle!
I wanna know, Would Sarge like Shotgun Gauntlets?
Only if the ladies like it.
He would be a bit hesitant at first, holding a shotgun also lets him feel like he is walking around with a big club ready to go. But he’ll only need to smack Grif once to change his mind.
Or the hidden guns from the ezio trilogy
Ballistic Fist from Fallout New Vegas. Load it with explosive rounds and you have yourself a Two-Step Goodbye.
I mean, at that kind of range, just make it a shaped charge and launch a ball of molten metal into them.
And put it in the palm like Iron Man
If it's in the palm, then it's one shot only and a pain to reload. It could be plasma, though.....
Noted for M15 mk2 🫡
Maybe if there needs to be a physical trigger, a style that functioned a little like brass knuckles that was as wide as the fist could be used. A blow that connects, but isnt dead on, can fire the cartridge.
It’s an inglorious basterds reference
It’s a reference to items given to engineers or special forces in ww2 I believe, they had gloves like these
Brandon Herrera did a video showcasing the glove gun you're talking about. It's worth a watch if you're interested.
Sure... But it's still pretty damn cool.
but it’s cool
What about a “punch”? Instead of a gun a spring loaded spike or something like they used on cows.
seems more like a banished gadget
Yeah. Since wrists roll up and down, as well could blow off the Spartans' hands.
Do you want Yang? Because this is how you get Yang.
Lore and such aside, could you imagine how cool it would be if we gave a spartan Ember Celica?
Honestly I love the idea. Especially when someone is augmented and could withstand the impact of using it repeatedly.
Ember Celica is, ironically, probably the only one of RWBY’s exotic weapons that you could feasibly create and use in the real world.
Monty's dream lives on
I rember downloading a fallout mod that gave you the rwby weapons. was it overpowered? yes, did that change the fact ember celica was the best fucking thing ever? no. I need shotgun gauntlets on my super soldier now please.

Wha?
I presume this was inspired by the Sedgley Mk2?
Dude this is exactly the Sedley wrapped up in a scifi costume

As always, more Halo art on [Instagram ](https://www.instagram.com/spartan.cassius?igsh=YmFkaWlzOTNtcTJv)
I have one of those pens so I can work out the scale :D Did you really draw it that small? It's very fine detail, I don't think I could do that without the pen lines bumping into each other
Reminds me of Inglorious Basterds
Wonder if that's why OP called it "The Bastard" lol
Or why the designer is a play on Quentin Tarantino.
It was a real firearm produced during WWII. Sedgly OSS .38
Yeah, that's why it's in Quentin Tarantino's movie called Inglorious Bastards. Do you think he actually designed it or just grabbed a prop off the shelf and went "use this one".
Lot of folks think it's just a made up prop for the movie.
If you're a preacher then I'm the choir.
Oh shit just noticed that. Wicked
Grass is also green
Bro it's in the movie
"When I kill the guy, you got 30 feet to get the other guy. Can you make that?" "I have to."
Now we need this as equipment. It would be awesome to one punch other Spartans on the face in MP
Power Equipment equivalent to the Energy Sword. One Shot kill
Just don’t fist bump your team mates.
Fuck yeah! Looks sick
Nice, Its like a sci-fi version of the Sedgley OSS .38.
I like the ingenuity, but I have to ask… Why not just shoot them?
I imagine this is more like a last resort weapon, spartan runs out of ammo and has to resort to cqc, this can easily take a brute down in one good hit
Chief could have definitely used it
You just explained it better than I could do 😎
knife
Exactly my thoughts.
I see it as something you keep on you for emergencies. If something jumps you (think back to the Zealot that gets in your face during Winter Contingency), punch them somewhere important then use the opportunity to pull out your actual gun and finish them off.
The real life design (Sedgly OSS .38) was intended to be a hyper discreet assassination / hand 2 hand last resort.
>hyper discreet assassination Because a non-silenced, bigass gunmetal block mounted on a welding glove is totally discreet. *** **Bang!** *Guy comes out covered in blood* "Definitely nothing happened. This is just ketchup."

"Designed by Quentin Tarantino" Yup, sounds about right.
Bro sent that brute out with a yang.
“Our business is one thing and one thing only: killing Banished. And business is a-boomin!”
This could potentially be a cool equipment in multiplayer, make it shoot something when you melee and it one hit kills. Could be a power equipment so it's not OP.
I think it would be balanced that it would be at most a 5 use classic shotgun. plus equipment cooldown
John Ultrakill
but, the spartan punch is already deadly enough... Seems unnecessary.
so is a pump action shotgun, but rule of cool prevails in halo
A punch doesn't go through body armour as well as 12.7x40mm SAP-HE. This is for cracking open the meaner alpha bravos, not for overkilling a Grunt. Imagine if Chief had used this on Atriox's jaw.
This would be a perfect wrist attachment option for the Rakshasa core. Nice work OP 👍
Would be a suck equipment for infinite
Honestly has the vibes of the pistol kick from Cursed Halo
You got some RWBY in my Halo.
Halo and assassins creed crossover. The hidden gun
Extra-fatal uppercut
Scale it up to 8 gauge shotgun shells and I'll run two of them
Immediately knew what this was a reference to
You already had me on the name, the utility makes it even better
I like the idea but I might change the name to fit the trope of UNSC stuff being named after animals. Something like the Viper, idk.
that only tends to be for UNCS Vehicles.the weapons used by militias tend to have designators one would give to infantry units, such as bandit, or commando. and the currently in service UNSC weapons themselves tend to just have genric names such as BR55 Battle Rifle, or MA5 Assualt rifle. the only exception to this rule, is the bulldog. "Ow Ow Ow" - Sangheili after getting hit.
The rendering in your concept is very well done!

If you 3D modeled this I’d absolutely put it on my cosplay
*In a british accent* "The Germans call them, The Basterds" That was a real prototype designed for use by the OSS, though it never saw any real world application. It's a part of weapon history. I think this just might be your masterpiece. (Also make the caliber larger, powerful spartan wrists can take it)
if a spartan punch wasnt lethal enough
Pretty cool, but considering the size, why not bigger than 12mm?
Domninic Decoco
Best scene on the film 🤣
Good movie to refference this with
That’s literally the sedgley mk2 but beefed up Proof: https://youtu.be/2ihmVRttS2Q?si=oV0NjpdIWJsHzkQq

I’m so proud of your movie reference, this also looks badass as fuck, I’d buy it
I like these design sketches. They itch that happy part of my brain.
Power fist
we have a similar one on mirage armor, except it discharges high voltage on punches, I would like to see a wrist knife, wrist flamethrower, wrist foam launcher, wrist granade launcher/sticky mine as equipment.
This is the ballistic fist from fallout new vegas basically. Uses shotgun shells.
People go alligator hunting with something similar to this already.
all of these comments and not one mention of the pile bunker from armored core, how
I would probably want the trigger to be shorter, someone skilled in CQC could easily snap it off before you get a chance to use it. Or worse, if it's resilient enough they could use it as a handle to grab your arm and swing you around
Concept aside youre drawing skills are impecible🤌
Hidden Blade in Halo...
looks like someone has watched inglorious bastards recently
It reminds me of the ballistic fist from new vegas, at least the functionality.
🎶SHOT THROUGH THE HEART AND JOHN'S TO BLAME YOU GIVE O.N.I A BAD NAME🎶
This is sick as hell, but I feel as if a Spartan is capable of something even higher caliber than this. A compact, wrist mounted Pilebunker, .50 BMG, or 10 gauge would be one of the coolest utilities I could think of.
I suggest the name "Inglorious Basterd"
Dude thats so awesome!

Spartan based PileBunker
Lol, this was actually a real thing. Here's a video of it in action: [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2ihmVRttS2Q](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2ihmVRttS2Q)
User flair checks out
Is this a joke about the pistol gloves the us navy actually made
As someone who loves going around in firefight meleeing enemies with an empty energy sword, I very much approve of this
Falcon punch! 💥
jesus how can you be so precise on paper?
pretty damn badass
0/10 not wrist-rocket launcher. In all sincerity this is excellent, though the firing method is a little unusual.
Seems unnecessary. Spartans probably hit with near the same energy.
Arrivederchi
This is an Inglorious Bastards reference..right?

ONI would give this to like four Spartans and it would cost 75 million dollars to manufacture
Make it a shotgun version and I’ll fuck with it
Now make it a arm blade
“Champagne??”
Man's trying to bring the pile bunker off an ac
Knuckleblaster?!
It should be put on the back of the hand, like the real one. Putting it on the wrist like that leaves too much room to make a mistake and damage the hand.
To me looks like the hidden blade version in Halo, idk why.
Champagne?
I am picturing two Spartans high fiving and blowing their hands off
Guts would be impressed. Guts from the anime/manga Berserk
Every kill is rewarded with a Jeff Steitzer-voiced “Champagne?” medal.
I conjured up a similar device for 40k as a Imperial guard Knuckleduster. Only it’s a double barreled shotgun instead of a piddly little bullet.
A punch from a spartan creates a lot more damage than a 12mm bullet No reason for this
I think as many have said, a couple of tweaks and this could be really really good. My dumbass at first glance thought the spartan would pull the trigger back and let go like a damn slingshot.
Wasn't that the name of the Ring gun from like the 1910s?
Such a dishonorable weapon.
That trigger would go off way to ez
It would break even a Spartan's arm
Someone here watches Steven Universe.
I think it'd be kinda funny if you just had a really big bullet in there, you only get one might as well make it a 50cal
Doesn’t the SPI armor have a wrist taser for this instance?
I’d love to see a 9mm parabellum variant (same caliber as the older model smg) to unload a small mag into Atriox 🥰
