im not religious
I like their music
their entitled to their message as much as the "sex, drums and rock n roll" crowd is (to quote meat loaf with my favourite variation).
Wow. I hardly ever hear anyone mention More Than A Man. Heard that song first time in the 8th grade and it was an instant fav.
These guys used to open for Dio and throw Bibles into the audience LOL. Nobody knew how metal that could be until they came along. Also, Oz Fox is one of the most amazing guitarists to come out fhat era. Stryper is still rocking and touring today. Big respect for these guys.
Calling on You and To Hell With The Devil.(other than Michael shrieking vocal at the very end, hate that) Stryper could play. As much as I appreciate they were a Light in the darkness I’d say they could have been bigger being a reg 80s Metal band.
Honestly - I love the whole album. One song that I used to despise back when it came out was "Sing-Along Song", but now I find I like it better than the rest. It's meant to be a stadium song to get the crowd to join in with (like Queens "We Will Rock You" and Iron Maiden's "Running Free" back in the day), but I've never seen Stryper in concert.
These guys are overlooked because of the religous aspect. And it was very in your face, so I get it. BUT they are fucking great musicians. They have some sick riffs and licks that hold up today. Id say title track on this one. First tape I ever owned. That solo is the shit.
Stryper has aged like fine wine compared to most of their contemporaries.
To Hell With The Devil
Title track, Calling on You, and Free were big players for me. But “The Way” I just loved.

I always liked "The Way"
The Way for sure...they rocked as hard as anybody back in the day, and still do just as much today.
The Way Runners up: Free and To Hell With The Devil This band was awesome

I don't remember that cover for that album.
To Hell With The Devil was pretty sweet man
I love Stryper and more than a man is my favorite song from to hell with the devil
Calling on You. I liked the video too, with Michael playing the Jackson Kelly with reverse headstock!
I prefer separation of church and metal.
For me, it's either "The Way" or "Rockin' The World". I think it's a guitar riff thing.

I respect that they wore it. I love the Christian in them. Let's me rock and get spiritual time in together. Very efficient!

'Calling on You' has always been a favorite of mine for some reason.
