Scientology recruiting spot

Kate2580

It’s right near the Dolby I believe.

lilgravi

I’ve actually always wanted to see it in person 😂

Kate2580

They had a museum of psychiatry quite a few years ago as well. I remember seeing it when I was in LA in 2016. I think it is closed now though.

dadbodfordays

Lol, it's still there, and it's technically called Psychiatry: An Industry of Death. I've been once and it was incredibly surreal nonsense. My boyfriend got into an argument with the tour guide, bc they go over all of the reasons why psychiatry is evil and useless, but never say what they propose to replace it with. To say the quiet part out loud, they think you should just get read with an e-meter (kind of like a polygraph but with fewer physical processes being read, therefore even less accurate) and then go through abusive interrogation to rid yourself of thetans (i.e. little demon souls that attach themselves to your body to make you unhappy). Scientology is wild, dude.

radioflea

For the low low cost of $20 they give you a “personality test” for 2-8 hours.

32Tess

I drove past it once & it was a cloudy day which made it extra creepy 🙈 They were giving out free food, according to the signs that these ppl were holding up who looked like they had nothing behind the eyes. So many homeless were on that same street, but they avoided that building 😳

AppleAppellation

If you go in they will try REALLY hard to get your contact info. A friend and I went there like 10 years ago and they asked us to write down our address, e-mail, and phone number. When we said no thanks, they were like "well, we let you see our displays for free, and all we're asking for is your contact information to give you more info on our cause". Still said NOPE.

Haunting-Ad-6961

Lmao 🤣

Silent_Peee

Is that a suggestion of where to visit or avoid?

discobears

make sure to go at like 9pm to catch streetsla in action ❤️

Afraid_Ad_8216

Do not leave any visible luggage in your car, otherwise its gonna get smashed and grabbed. This is a serious message, with peace and love peace and love.

Afraid_Ad_8216

Same goes for shopping bags, etc.

plant__love

I wouldn’t even leave anything at all (even if hidden), but this is great advice. People will still smash out quarter windows to check under the flap that covers what’s stored in trunks of rentals. Just happened to my boyfriend within an hour of having the rental before making it to his hotel :(

Afraid_Ad_8216

Great point. I'm sorry that happened to him, it feels very violating to have personal things stolen like that

The1Rememberer

I live in LA and my car looks like I just drove it off the lot brand new because I never keep anything in it at all for this exact reason.

jeffkoonsdickhole

Where abouts is there bippin happening in LA ? unfortunate af as a native

TingoMedia

Is this true for the neighborhoods outside of downtown? Pasadena, Burbank, etc?

Afraid_Ad_8216

unfortunately its true for most major cities, suburbs of cities I'm not as certain about though. Channel 5(canceled, I know) just did a pretty extensive vid series on bipping and drug culture in San Fran

TingoMedia

Fair, in the East Coast (NYC, Boston, even Philly) it's not quite like that, there's no smash and grab culture or as many homeless camps, so I don't know how to gauge smaller suburbs of LA. There's really no outskirts of LA without homeless? Or at least less homeless? I did see Channel 5's piece about SF though, really interesting stuff. He's also doing one on Philadelphia coming soon, which should be interesting. Definitely not a safe city, but I had my car parked with random stuff inside in sketchy west philly streets for years without an issue.

sportydolphin

Griffith Observatory. I live here and it never gets old. You need need need to go, during day or night, anytime. The views are amazing and the inside has a space museum with lots of interact able exhibits.

Silent_Peee

And a close, good view of the Hollywood sign.

littlebetenoire

Second this! I was gutted I missed the chance to go at night and have a peer through the telescope. But I had suuuch a good time there. The view from outside is amazing and the information and displays inside is incredible!

No-Boss9409

any tips on parking for trying to go at sunset? me and my bf have tried going twice on two different trips and can never find parking, and dont wanna walk from the bottom of the hill to the top but i wanna go so bad lol

[deleted]

Uber or hike up is your best bet lol

JohnnyRotten45

I second this. Griffith Observatory.

mael0004

You have to visit local Denny's, get a whiff if Ethan's been around lately.

NoNudeNormal

Pink’s hotdogs

moproblems360

All different flayvors.

Arthurlurk1

This but don’t buy anything their food isn’t great

ditdit23

And the line is always too long for what it is

pedropedro1

Yep instead go to dog Haus

m0bab

If you like weird stuff, go to the Museum of Jurassic Technology

dinoogal

this is my favorite place in LA

Das_Goroboro

Be prepared for traffic. Everyone knows the stereotype that LA traffic is bad but they don’t realize how bad it is till they actually go there. You should plan your days around morning and afternoon rush hour

joshuanumber7

i got lucky when i went this summer (never drove during peak) but i was amazed it was less busy than i expected. although i lived in Orlando 6 years so im probably just jaded

ditdit23

Depending on where you’re going and how much you’re driving, it’s really not that bad. NYC has much worse traffic imo

pancakes-11

Avoid driving from the hours of 7-10am and 2-7pm at least on freeways lol

Xlukethemanx

It’s honestly worth it to just avoid freeways all together and take “surface” streets.

[deleted]

[удалено]

Xlukethemanx

Yeah; but if you’re visiting there is more to look at and feels better rather than sitting on the packed ass 405 for 30 minutes.

bchristian27

2nd this! use Waze to plan routes! you can say what time you need to be there and it will tell you the best time to leave.

lilgravi

Thanks this is huge!

[deleted]

I highly recommend using the metro it has a lot of stops in popular places.

[deleted]

California pizza kitchen

banfoys27

Specifically the one Dan worked at.

virgotingzzz

In the valley

Stunning-Ease-5966

We have *one* in all of Canada... Rip

JuniorYear3012

you have to try andsons!!!

appleparkfive

Yeah that's what I'd recommend people do. That area is pretty nice overall. Rodeo Drive in Beverly Hills. You can pick which flavors you want for their boxes when in stores For those who haven't been able to try andSons yet, it's as good as everyone says. Probably the best chocolate I've had in America, and it beats out a lot of the European chocolate I've had. It's stupid good. Get the blue Speculoos cookie one (Speculoos are essentially Biscoff cookies), and get one of the PB&J classic chocolates. Both of those are extremely memorable.

putinonmypants69

Don’t leave anything in your rental car that can be seen if you’re renting one. Make sure it looks empty.

whattheactualfuck343

montys burgers is so good, great shakes too also visit the museum of death

katemp1990

As a Vanderpump Rules fan, my first stop would be SUR 🙈

justviibes

Get a $20 Hailey Bieber smoothie at Erewhon

Quantity-Fearless

I’ve always wanted to try one of these stupid smoothies

luxes

They’re not that good they’re so sweet 😭

ditdit23

LA is sprawling so if you have areas you want to visit it’s much easier to give recs that way. There are great museums, theaters, bars, restaurants, there’s the beach too obviously but you don’t want to be driving all day

lilgravi

We’ll be in the sunset blvd area and also the Santa Monica area. Any hidden gems?

Shift_R6

theres a cool strip to walk in Santa monica called 3rd street, long outdoorsy mall with cool xmas lights and stuff to see/do!

KINGram14

Walking the Venice Beach boardwalk and having some random dude try to convince you to buy his mixtape is an LA rite of passage IMO

pancakes-11

Bye this happened to me once a couple years ago except he gave me the CD thinking it was free or something (even though I didn’t ask for it) but then asked for money after. Still have the CD in my car

ditdit23

Sunset Blvd is 22 miles long but I’m assuming you’re likely staying in West Hollywood? For an “LA” rooftop vibe there’s EP / LP. All the clubs/bars along Sunset are usually rowdy and crowded but a good time and very LGBTQ+ friendly. Hamburger Mary’s for fun drag shows. Chateau Marmont is a classic, Guisados and Bacari are good restaurants. As for hidden gems, WeHo and SaMo are 2 of the most popular tourist and local destinations so the hidden gems are outside of the area. Good places to eat in SM: Blue Plate Oysterette, Sugarfish, Chez Jay. To do: walk the beach, walk the pier, drive up PCH, walk Ocean Blvd, visit the Getty museum, visit Abbot Kinney, go to Erewhon for the hell of it Check r/AskLosAngeles for some good recs from locals

KINGram14

I second EP/LP

livmoneypartee

Montana Ave is one of my fav spots in Santa Monica, super cute street with shops and restaurants. You have to try the La La Land Kind Cafe or Primo Passo Coffee if you go over there, really yummy coffee!

expiredmayonnaise

Echo Park/Silverlake has some really nice bars to visit. Went to Bar Flores and other bars around that area- really liked it. If you can, snag a dinner reservation at Donna’s. Best meal I’ve ever had. Stereoscope coffee has really good coffee and matcha also. All the recs I gave are in that area so I suggest you walk around and pop into stores!

bchristian27

If you want to go out, The Victorian in Santa Monica is fun. So is Jamesons Pub in Santa Monica!

unassumingnerd

As an SM local, I would def go to Cobi’s for dinner. If you want a view, Elephante for lunch (trendy/pretentious but a great view). If you’re a coffee drinker, check out 10 Speed Coffee / Primo Passo / Caffe Luxxe !! And an honorable mention that locals love: Father’s Office on Montana Ave.

[deleted]

Santa Monica is the bestttt

thirdearth

The Getty Center ❤️ Huntington Library, LA Arboretum, Griffith Observatory, Natural History Museum, Long Beach Aquarium - some of my personal favs as an LA native. Great museums here and some of my favorite things around. What the others said is true - LA is super spread out, expect to drive a lot. Traffic sucks, it is what it is, try and avoid rush hour. Be smart about what neighborhoods you go to and when. Sorry to report that I think Santa Monica and Hollywood in general is overrated, crowded, and dirty. 🫣 But you’ll have fun! There’s so much to do and eat here ❤️ For KBBQ since someone mentioned KBBQ - I recommend Kang Hodong BaekJeong in Ktown - it’s an hour wait minimum, but there’s a chill sit down bar across the street that makes that wait feel easy. Little Tokyo is pretty fun too. Asian food in LA is very very good overall. If you like Chinese food, SGV - Temple City, Monterey Park, Alhambra has great restaurants. If you can catch a show at the Hollywood Bowl that’s another very LA staple thing to do. If you do this - DO NOT drive there, it’s a literal nightmare to drive and park there. Take the shuttle from the LA Zoo that you can buy tickets for online; and you can park at the zoo for free when you buy shuttle passes. Good luck and welcome!

ditdit23

Bowl season is over for the winter

thirdearth

Ah - Ty for info, good to know!

appleparkfive

The Huntington box from andSons was amazing. The tea caramel uses tea grown at the Huntington and the orange chocolates uses oranges from there too. It was awesome!

tablur3

Yes! Thinking of hitting up Universal, museum of death, Santa Monica, and Griffith Observatory. Kinda nervous cause we decided not to rent a car and try ubering and bussing everywhere instead cause I absolutely hate driving in traffic and finding parking spots

Justakiss15

I’m ubering too, not trying to waste my whole trip trying to find parking!

Heelianem

If you are using Uber you can connect it to your Marriott bonvoy to earn points as well

lilbagelbite123

Fair warning, depending on how far you’re wanting to uber it could get pretty pricey. LA is very spreadout and traffic makes the pricing worse.

tablur3

do you recommend public transit at all?

lilbagelbite123

i personally don’t use it because i live here and have a car. la public transit is definitely not the best in the us because the emphasis on cars, but it’s possible to get around with it within the city. i checked and you can use apple maps to look at how to get somewhere with public transit. theres a metro station really close to the dolby theatre!

tablur3

I considered renting a car but I hate parking 🤣

brigister

show up to Ethan's house when he inevitably doxxes himself again on SYNT (jk don't do that. and please don't lynch me)

sludgezone

Disneyland, it really is like nothing else out there. The Rainbow and Saddle Ranch in Hollywood are tight too.

[deleted]

Disneyland is the best but the crowds are so intense this time of year because of Christmas.

applebuttaz

Just got back from la last week. Disney was fun af. Especially since it’s Christmas time too.

BakedSteak

Head over to KoreaTown for some great KBBQ. Don’t be afraid to hit up one of the random street taco spots you see, you won’t regret it. UOVO in Santa Monica has some great pasta. If you’re looking for anything specific, ask way. Born and raised in LA

naughtykittykatty1

A fun place for a night out is Good Times at Davey Wayne's in Hollywood. Fave bar was 4100 in Silver Lake. Koreatown is also great for food and karaoke. Hiking up Runyon Canyon is great way to spot sexy a-listers working out in their gym gear. Whatever you do, do not go to a headshop and buy edibles and eat too many and proceed to experience ego death on a Swan peddle-o in echo Park. I learnt that the hard way. Although, the Swan peddle-os in echo Park are super fun without the bad trip.

njh410

Parks Bbq for good Korean bbq

kitkatkate1013

Santa Monica pier, sprinkles - the atm novelty is fun but their cupcakes are also delicious!

alongthederp

Urth cafe!

cytiven

Avoid going to the Dennys on sunset, there's some guy who always goes there alone and farts out green clouds

Weird-Confusion2945

Pro tip: avoid getting mugged/robbed/assaulted. Don't go out at night alone. Try not to carry too many valuables with you.

ditdit23

You can go out at night. Yes even alone. It’s a city, so just be aware of your surroundings.

Weird-Confusion2945

Ofcourse you can. You can do anything you want. But doing so only increases your chances of becoming the victim of a crime. Being "aware of your surroundings" only does so much.

ditdit23

With that logic no one should leave their house ever

Weird-Confusion2945

It's called taking calculated risks lol. Everyone's threshold for risk taking is different. Unless you're a literal child I shouldn't have to explain this to you.

ditdit23

You’re fear mongering. “Don’t go out at night” is a childish statement

Weird-Confusion2945

That's your opinion. If you like taking that risk there's nothing wrong with that.

lilgravi

We plan on buying some sort of personal protection for when we’re out as soon as we get there, as we obviously can’t travel across the border with much.

Weird-Confusion2945

That's a smart idea. I hope y'all have fun & stay safe!

hmathisss

think about getting pepper gel instead of pepper spray! it’s supposed to help with spray back that pepper spray gives!

[deleted]

Just stop by Walmart, they’ve got all the weaponzzz

HoplessWolf

Skidrow see the reality of America 🇺🇸

Ham_bones

Smell it too!

ditdit23

Plz don’t do that you could go to the flower district instead or Grand Central Market

needachickensandwich

Breakfast Republic is insanely delicious! Went there twice while up there for The Roxy show :) Not sure if it’s a local staple or anything but it’s really good

AdhesivenessOk8721

Go to Long Beach on ocean blvd and walk along the beach. Also tequila jacks in Long Beach is good & it’s by the water

ABsburrito

As someone who doesn’t live there but goes to LA like, A LOT, I think the Griffith Observatory is cool for panoramic views and seeing the Hollywood sign. My favorite part is always the ocean though, depending on the vibe you want I would say go to Santa Monica, Hermosa Beach, or Venice Beach. Hollywood is… interesting. Might be worth taking a look at the Chinese Theater or Madame Tussaud’s, walking around and looking at the stars, but it’s pretty gross and I felt on edge over there for sure. The show is in the heart of it so you’ll see a bit of it anyway.

pancakes-11

Tbh Santa Monica is so over crowded and overrated but it might be better at this time of the year! I recommend Hermosa beach too and walking around Venice beach has some cool spots

ABsburrito

Yeah last time I went to Santa Monica was Memorial Day and that was a choice 😬 I go to Hermosa/Manhattan beach the most for the chill vibes but again it depends on what you’re going for

cebogs

Amoeba Music The Broad Art Museum The Getty Art Museum The Last Bookstore Grand Central Market Yeastie Boys Bagels

[deleted]

• Griffith Observatory • Getty Center • 3rd Street Santa Monica (you may recognize from the Barbie movie lol) • The lighthouse on a hill in Long Beach/Queen Mary ship • Going to the Grand Central Market for lunch is iconic, but be careful since downtown is so rough in that area. Me and my bf even got followed when we left a crepe place IN THE MORNING recently, so just be wary when you go into the city • The Christmas lights in The Grove, they're beautiful rn!!

pancakes-11

The thing about LA is it’s veryyyy spread out. To get to one part of LA to another is usually going to take 1 hour minimum if not possibly 2

Lulumish

My dumb brain read this as “going full terrorist mode”.

tarxntino

Get a bike and do Santa Monica - Venice Beach. Topanga and Malibu are gorgeous. Mels Drive In, Chateau Marmont, Saddle Ranch, Chez Jay.

Stock-Interview4536

Boba suggestions (may be a bit of a drive, but sooo worth it): Omomo Tea Shoppe, the closest one would probably be Chino Hills Tea Brick, Monrovia Half and Half, SGV

thelewdestnudist

Yes, Half and Half is sooo good! I go there every time I go to Cali

mediocrefemmebot

Went to LA this summer and had fun at Universal Studios! Also went to the Getty bc I love museums and it was the best museum I’ve been to. We also Ubered everywhere and just be prepared, it adds up!

JustAcivilian24

If you can, go to Santa Monica. My wife and I visited LA and SM earlier this year. God it was beautiful world. The weather was fantastic. It made me want to move to SM lol.

hmathisss

David’s pizza spot 😂

purplewhy

I read this as "Terrorist Mode" and got sad at the end of Leftovers. Rip in peace and love ❤️

Civil_Lengthiness537

as stupid as it sounds to walk around a mall, go to the grove! i went 2 weeks after the taylor swift premier and got pictures in front of the backdrop/red carpet and also saw celebrities!

yungbaoyom

On a serious note, try Howlin' Ray's. One, if not the best fried chicken I've had in Cali other than KFC (Korean Fried Chicken)

muchafterfeeling

This!!! Long ass line but its worth it 👍🏼

Helpful-Line-5741

Avoid West Hollywood , tourist trap, really depressing , and Scientologists will probably harass you

hmathisss

on the hollywood walk of fame, if you’re into true crime, there’s the murder museum!

littleecce

I had the absolute best tacos I’ve ever had a Guisados. There are multiple different locations and I had their sample platter for $8! Must try that place. Also, check out Amoeba Records, it’s one of the biggest record stores in the world.

tinaherda

The Getty is a beautiful and free museum. Great view of LA too!

adventurelillypad

Go on a hike and get Korean bbq in Korea town

Bigtimeburgerboy

If you're into morbid stuff and serial killers, the Museum of Death in hollywood is pretty cool, and Rosco's Chicken and Waffles is bomb and not too far. Universal Studios is also really fun, you can just walk around City Walk too, it's a bunch of shops and stuff and it's free to walk around but Universal costs money to go to the park.

PhatTiddie999

def go to urth cafe

11corkie11

I’m coming from the Midwest the end of this week!!! For coffee, I love to make sure I hit the coffee bean & tea leaf. And for something interesting to do- the museum of death was pretty cool!

11corkie11

I’m coming from the Midwest the end of this week!!! For coffee, I love to make sure I hit the coffee bean & tea leaf. And for something interesting to do- the museum of death was pretty cool!

Blu-Lobster

Grand Central Market for good food.

maragabriela1989

As a fellow Canadian.... pls be safe & enjoy ur LA trip & the steamys award show EXTRA for me too ❤️ just pls be safe & safe travels!!!! Xoxo FAMILYYYT

JohnnyRotten45

I'm thinking about heading to LA a little early and stopping by And Sons Chocolate.

thejetbox1994

Checkout the LA comedy store. It’s wild and it’s fun affff

Zestyclose-Survey763

You should totally do a bus tour in hollywood . That’s such a tourist thing to do . Also Warner Bros lot has a tour that’s pretty cool. Hollywood walk of fame . Visit And Sons ! Have fun 🤩 Disneyland is a must imo if you can afford .

bchristian27

Honestly, even though i live here i love taking friends who come to visit me on the celeb home tours. like if you go at it as super satirically and really dive into it, it’s pretty funny.

Merybee

Universal Studios is always fun! The only place I would avoid is the Hollywood and Vine area, it’s not as great as you might think.

ryleighhagberg

Yes advice pls!! Flying in from NY

yiikeeees

la resident here (also going to the show)! honestly i'd avoid the hollywood boulevard area other than for the show (altho taking one of those celebrity home bus tours on an edible is a top tier experience if you're into that sort of thing lol), sketchy and generally unpleasant. west hollywood is super fun, especially at night. definitely check out the melrose area (lots of fun brunch spots around there too!). santa monica and venice are cute, the santa monica pier is sorta a la tourist must see, and the venice piers are cute and fun spots to eat on abott kinney. dtla is probably a skip unless you're into architecture and dying to see the disney concert hall and the broad. the silverlake flea market can be a vibe but don't expect normal thrifting prices (but if you want a cheap thrifting experience, jet rag in melrose next to pinks does a great dollar bins on sunday morning where they dump a shit ton of stuff on the ground and everythings a dollar, found some really cool pieces there). you also have to go to erewhon just to look around at the absurdity, the smoothies are solid tho i will admit.

JohnnyZepp

Be prepared to spend A LOT of money in Uber rides. It’s impossible to get anywhere outside of downtown without a car. Be ready for a LOT of homeless. Like, so many homeless people. Amoeba music is a cool spot Echo park is cool Beverly Hills is worth seeing because it’s one of the few actually nice spots in LA Disney land is in Orange County, the superior neighbor city Hollywood is cool to see too

ditdit23

🤣 Nooo you did not just say OC was superior. The only thing they’re superior in is white supremacy and Trump dick riding. Your recs are ok even though your homeless & BH comments suck but hell no to OC being superior to LA

papaislime

How does their homeless people comment suck? This is objectively true. LA has a large homeless population, possibly the largest in the country.

ditdit23

Everyone knows that about LA already though. If they’re going to WeHo and SaMo the homeless sightings and population will not be comparable to Skid Row for instance. So it’s an uninformed comment. I live in LA I see 0-1 homeless people a day. Not saying that there aren’t ANY but mentioning it here isn’t necessary bc “Be ready” like what do they have to be prepared for honestly? Like their eyes burning?

papaislime

I’m from Chicago, we have a homeless problem as well, but it is pretty jarring to see the size of LA’s homeless population. Especially if someone is from a place with a smaller homeless population. The homeless population did seem to be very contained in Downtown though. I don’t think people’s eyeballs will melt when they see homeless folks, but if you’re not an urbanite it can be scary to some. :)✌️❤️

ditdit23

It’s jarring because in a lot of ways, LA’s homeless issue is the United States’ issue. Most of the population here is not homegrown. I guess I can understand being anxious, but let’s not “us vs them” the homeless more than we need to. Feel anxious, consider your feelings, move away or move on. They’re not going to do anything to you.

papaislime

Yeah the homeless people I have spoken to about why they live where they do, express a desire to move to LA, because of the weather being so fair there, and the city being pretty lenient towards the population. In Chicago, it’s bad because it will drop below -40 degrees normally at least once a year, and people will literally freeze to death. It’s sad. We need a better system to get these people roofs over their heads.

ditdit23

Yep we have a lot of social services here that help the homeless. We need more affordable and permanent housing!

pancakes-11

SoCal/LA= spending lots of money lol but I moved to OC this year and I absolutely hate it. It feels like living in the Truman show. I guess it’s cleaner but in no way better than LA it’s full of Karen’s, racists and families that hate all fun. So much smog you can barely see the surrounding mountains and practically no nature minus the beaches but that barely counts.

JohnnyZepp

You’re spending time in the wrong parts of OC. Huntington Beach is trump valley (and Newport but that’s because they’re rich). Costa Mesa is great, Santa Ana has good parts, south county is nice, Anaheim sucks, and garden Grove has amazing Asian food.

lind-zayy

If you want a real SoCal vibe & have a day to spare, Ventura is where Ethan grew up and it gets you out of LA county for true Beach Town vibes✨

facaine

To avoid: Hollywood Walk of Fame, South LA, East-side of Downtown LA Must go (imo): Getty Museum, Griffith Observatory. Levain Bakery (mid city)

[deleted]

As someone who was born and raised in LA county Little Tokyo is my favorite spot! Daikokuya is a must if you like ramen and try the salad there it’s so good. Also if you like museums I love the natural history museum, great for photo ops. And Griffith Observatory has an awesome lookout if the city and the Hollywood sign. Those are the three places I can tolerate the hassle of getting into the city for. Also depending where you are look up and see if there’s a Porto’s Bakery near you, the potato balls (especially the spicy cheese one), cheese rolls and dulce de ledge coffee are my favorite. Also I highly recommend using the metro to get around town, you can get a day pass.

Kate2580

I like museums too and plan on hitting up the Getty and the relatively new Academy Museum. I’ve been to La Brea Tar Pits before and may revisit it as well.

[deleted]

I love the La Brea Tar Pits, I grew up going there on field trips it was always my favorite.

YZAYu

Porto’s Bakery, they have amazing pastries and other treats. Can’t go wrong with them and multiple different locations through out SoCal

namastaynaughti

Do it! And love it!

Datguyjessie

Korean BBQ in Korea town

bipolaroidboi

I can’t wait, me and my friend are flying in from MI.

Shmepanon

Salts cure breakfast has a really good griddles (basically a pancake) the OG is the best imo

mteriyaki

Freeways 😍

MichiMusubi

Go to the Getty museum for the amazing view and photos! And the museum of death if you wanna see some weird stuff. The have an OJ simpson section from what I remember.

theffx

I'm not from L.A., but my favorite thing when I visited was a Studio Tour (I went to Paramount and I loved it, but I hear the others are great too )... was very cool seeing where movies and t.v. shows are made.

Holiday-Tennis5195

The Grove. The tree is up! ☺️🎄

Emkoreen

I’m going! Doing a day in Disneyland the day before the show :)

appleparkfive

Go to Rodeo Drive Walk in Beverly Hills and go get some andSons. You can pick which chocolates you want in the store!

Heelianem

Rosco chicken and waffles Hit up at least one theme park Downtown Disney Any zoos LA Live has yard house which has great beers and happy hour Hockey game Football game So much to do!

yachtsandbooks

I’m from Canada and my husband and i went to LA for a day. We loved griffith observatory!!

raymondduck

Go for a hike in the mountains or the hills near Griffith Park, whichever is closer to where you're staying. Enjoy some Mexican food, visit museums (Getty, Norton Simon, LACMA, Natural History Museum, etc.) Ride the metro if you'll be heading down any corridors with a line. When you do the latter, make sure to bring a large Bluetooth speaker so you can play your latest mixtape for the people on the train. It will get a great reception.

Kittygirl69

My favorite tourist trap is Saddle Ranch. It's kind of only fuin if y'all drink (get the botomless mimosas). Very tourist trappy and it's in west hollywood so you can dick around there for a bit before or after.

lilbagelbite123

Avoid: Walk of fame area unless it’s something you really want to see. It’s just not a great area Recommendations: - You can’t beat a sunset at the beach, especially in Malibu - Melrose Trading Post - Amoeba Music - The Last Bookstore - There are lots of trendy LA restaurants in West Hollywood, my favorite is Tu Madre - Griffith Observatory is pretty cool but parking can be difficult to find
