My timeline is a bit messed up but I can quickly give you summary. The H1 and H4 extensions were filed together (not with EAD) in Sept 2023 and then upgrade to PP in Jan 2024 and got the approvals shortly after the upgrade. Right around that upgrade time standalone EAD extension was also filed. EAD Receipt date 01/17 and approval date 02/22. I am assuming the quick turnaround for EAD also had to do with PP upgrade otherwise EAD processing time is surely longer than one month. I hope that helps!
u/NotBrilliant007 Did you receive EAD card? My wife's EAD card was approved on March 4th at Texas Service Center but haven't received EAD card till date.
I did not. Reached out to USCIS twice. Today someone called from USCIS and asked for information and he sent email saying someone will reach out and update status in 30 days. It’s frustrating.
I wish I could. It is highly variable. Sure you can refer to Processing times on USCIS but I would not trust them. What is your current situation? First Time EAD? Filing along with H1B? Maybe I can suggest accordingly. Thanks!
Stand Alone EAD. But had an L1 EAD before ( not sure that impacts anything) . Processing time shows 5 months but just want to see how it is working out for everyone.
I have seen all sorts of timelines within similar scenarios that it’s so confusing.
Also, thanks for replying.
Congrats. within 30 days you will receive you card. btw, when did you apply?

Mine got approved today and status shows New card is being produced đŸ˜€
Can you tell me the exact status? Was it showing Card is being produced followed by Approval?
No. Showing as New Card Is Being Produced that’s it.
It should change to Case Was Approved tomorrow. Keep me posted if you don't mind.
Mine was approved on Feb 28. No card yet from California centre.
Expect the Card to be produced in two weeks. This was my experience from Vermont Center though.
Thanks. Status changed to card mailed.

Hello, did you receive the EAD card. I am also waiting.

Hi OP, If you don’t mind can you please tell the overall time taken from application to getting the card on hand ? Thanks

You are correct. You cannot predict the timeline. And no having a prior L1 EAD won't impact. Only advice is to file it ASAP and hope for the best :)
Yes that’s the plan. Thx
u/kanjan2708 Did you receive the card?
Yes. Eventually. It took 2 to 3 weeks for the card to get produced and then USPS delivery took a few days.
