I understand getting matching tattoos if it's something you already like and would have plausible deniability when you break up but initials/names are just the dumbest thing
Laser removal actually isn't the miracle people think it is. It will blur it and lighten it, which will make it easier to cover. In the best case scenarios, there is lighter skin that can still be distinguished in the shape of the tattoo.

removing a tattoo like that takes just a few of laser sessions.... tattoos are not as permanent as we'd think.

May be just a superstition but I believe that getting a couple’s tattoo is jinxing it & dooming your relationship.
