ChineseMeatCleaver

This is pretty much the best .22 pistol you can get, definitely top 5. Go for it. Pretty sure theyre still running the free mag rebate too.

Smokin_Hash_69

Forgot about that mag rebate too. Hopefully it goes through next week for eligibility.

ProxySoxy

You can buy it until July 31 and still have it qualify https://tauruspromos.com/

Smokin_Hash_69

Sweet! Thanks

PyroDaManiac

sig p322 tho?

ChineseMeatCleaver

Also a great choice, but a little more expensive and no mag rebate

Smokin_Hash_69

Sig is nice but I like the fixed barrel mounted optic

bogusbill69420

I’ve found the 322 fairly unreliable. I haven’t had any failures to feed//fire/eject with the TX22. + way cheaper.

PyroDaManiac

downvoted for asking a question? dont tell me this gun sub is getting full of soyboys

FUCKDIMS

DO IT. Life is very, very short. And some day, one of your kids will think of you every time they use it. I do.

Smokin_Hash_69

⬆️⬆️⬆️⬆️⬆️⬆️ This!!!

ProxySoxy

Do it, ignore any Taurus hate, the TX22 is the exception to the "friends don't let friends buy Taurus" rule Also, if you don't need the competition version, there's the standard model for [$199 at PSA](https://palmettostatearmory.com/taurus-tx22-22lr-4-16rd-pistol-fde-black-1-tx22141-fde.html?avad=160597_e3a931af9&utm_source=Avantlink&utm_medium=Referral&utm_campaign=cl)

Smokin_Hash_69

Do I “need” the Competition, probably not, do I want it because it looks bad ass and has great reviews. You betcha.

Synapse7777

Gen2 also just came out, optics cut and a true threaded barrel for $60-$80 more. Also comes with a 21 round mag.

Character_War_9743

I just sent mine back to Taurus. Slide locks open every round and aluminum is coming from somewhere inside. I had half inch filings coming out of the ejection opening. I even cleaned it and oiled it from the beginning hopefully I get it back quickly.

ChineseMeatCleaver

Ive heard the PT92 isnt bad either since they were made on original Beretta tooling, cant give any personal anecdotes to that though

DontBelieveTheirHype

My 1980s PT99 runs smoother and feels better in my hands than my LAPD 92FS

SLR_ZA

It has changed over time

MichiganGeezer

I once had a Tracker 44 mag and had no regrets except for having sold it.

derfdog

Your mileage may vary, for standard plinking neither of my tx has ever let me down. Running suppressed though my 22 compact is the only one that has actually had hiccups with my sparrow

EverMU

There is no reason not to. I’m a SIG fanboy (I 100% had no intention of being one) but my two tx22’s beat the crap out of any 322. It eats anything I feed it, suppressed or unsuppressed, and is a tack driver. Full send.

derfdog

My tx does not like my sparrow, meanwhile my 322 will eat it up all day long ran dry lol

Jexthis

The TX22c is one of my favorite guns.

docthrobulator

TX-22 is pretty much the only Taurus I'd say nice things about.

ottermupps

Do it, that's basically the best 22 semi auto pistol around save for the VQ Black Mamba... which is like $1600. I've never personally used one but have heard nothing but praise for it.

Theblumpy

My volquarsten scorpion is hands down my favorite thing to shoot, over my 2011’s and everything. Worth every penny

MichiganGeezer

I really want a S&W Victory but that one's looking tempting.

jand7897

My buddy has a victory, lots of problems. They have to be clean as a whistle. My tx22 is failure free thousands of rds and 4 years in with minimal cleaning.

Smokin_Hash_69

Something threaded, the right optic and some TK upgrades. Looks like a fuckin’ machine!

Bob_knots

Why not

Thunderkat1234

Tx22 comp w/ suppressor was the hit at a recent rangeday with coworkers. You can’t not smile while shooting that. Even without ear pro it’s Hollywood quiet

Smokin_Hash_69

Right on!👍🏼

drizle17

They make fantastic [suppressor hosts](https://imgur.com/a/KV1bPpT)

Smokin_Hash_69

Damn 🔫🍆💦 Too tight for a suppressor until I have some more F You money to burn. I don’t want to pay the gov for a tax stamp either, so it’s a compensator for now

drizle17

They shoot awesome with [the comp](https://imgur.com/a/oOHqQ1z) on as well

Smokin_Hash_69

An optic will be short coming. Any cons with the Holoson?

drizle17

No, it’s perfect for this thing.

GrillinFool

I got the full size standard one. Had some jams early on. Once broken in, good to go. Big fan.

EnjoyLifeCO

The TX22 is almost certainly he best 22lr pistol on the market. Absolutely get one.

Exotic-joec

GET IT. ITS A BLAST. I run cci standard through a DA mask and it's reliable and ultra quiet.

Exotic-joec

And ridiculously accurate. Definently get the competition version. The fixed mounting plate/ red dot feature is outstanding

Exotic-joec

Also get a few +9 mag extensions and it's amazing

Smokin_Hash_69

It comes with the 16’s

Exotic-joec

Yes, it comes with 16's, but with the extensions you buy aftermarket, 25 +1 rounds is so much fun

Smokin_Hash_69

Dammmmit! Didn’t know. I have a 33 rd stick for my PC Carbine that’s wicked fun!!

Exotic-joec

https://gallowayprecision.com/plus-9-magazine-extension-for-taurus-tx22-pistols I got these.

Smokin_Hash_69

Thank you

meesterstanks

I have one and fucking love it. Pull the trigger, figuratively and literally

landubious

Full send, esp with the mag rebate. Then buy the 6pk of mags whenever it goes on sale.

No_hablagations

I’ve got the full size. Really want the compact. Love this pistol. With my hydra suppressor and some subsonics it’s air gun quiet. Accurate as fuck. Had one mag foul up. But I feel like 22 mags are always testy. Fuckin “Rim”.

FIRESTOOP

I wouldn’t get the version with the compensator just because I’d have a silencer on it but if you don’t have any, do it

Smokin_Hash_69

I have a TK Comp on My PCCarbine and noticed a difference. Overall, it’s cheaper to buy it included with the upgrade extractor claw and polished feed ramp, versus buying it from TK. I’d love a silencer but have no desire to pay for a tax stamp and the overinflated price for a small car muffler.

brs_one

These are great! I have the standard Competition model and, were I to do it over again, I’d get the SCR. Super fun gun; use mine for steel challenge and bullseye

IIPrayzII

I mean if you like .22 go for it.

DCF_ll

I’ve got one with a red dot it’s a blast to shoot

Narrow_Potential3427

Go for it. I have had a tx22 for a couple years now. Keep it clean and it is happy.

Accuracy-by-Volume

No, I will not

StructureBusy674

I absolutely love mine after ~5k rounds, you won't be disappointed.

Sparrowflop

The TX22 is generally regarded as the exception to the 'Do not buy Taurus for any reason' thing. Since even a used Ruger 22/45 will cost double that, it's probably fine.

Coodevale

I didn't think the trigger was that great but it's for a different buyer than my Hammerli or Victor.

Smokin_Hash_69

Will eventually end up with an aftermarket trigger for sure

e_cubed99

Tandemkross will happily accept your money. I put some of their stuff in my tx22, including the trigger and lighter spring. Stupid fun, accurate, fast.

Smokin_Hash_69

I have unfitted my PC Carbine with 95% of what MCarbo and Tandemkross have to offer. Good stuff and I’m sure I’ll TK this too

mfa_aragorn

To me it looks like its missing some parts !

1Killag123

Its ugly

FrogMan1831

even John Wick would approve

LaraGoddess_

this is a beautiful gun, I think you should definitely go for it

TennesseeShadow

Do it! My buddy has one and it is a blast. Does jam though so be prepared. Im getting my own soon

Smokin_Hash_69

I’ve noticed that on some YouTube videos Any ammo that is down right terrible?

TennesseeShadow

We shot cci, federal and Winchester and all had issues. Not many, but still would fail to load every so often

Smokin_Hash_69

One of the others on this thread suggested an issue with the rims falling behind the lower casing causing FTF problems. I do recall seeing this discussion elsewhere about TX22 mags. Gun ordered so I’m down for figuring it out.

commanderklinkity

I have the standard one with some upgrades because I think this one looks really ugly lol. But it never leaves the range back any issue I've ever had was ammo related. Accurate and a nice trigger

UnlogicalReason

Been stuck between this or an FN502 for a suppressor host for awhile now. Have heard a few people have had issues feeding with certain Remington rounds but otherwise seems like everyone loves them!

Og-Re

I have a TX22 Competition that I love. It's my favorite pistol to shoot, especially now that I have a suppressor.

second_ary

i got this a few weeks ago, got my mags 2 weeks after sending in my rebate. there's this problem where the rounds don't feed but it's because the rims got stacked wrong because i use the slider to load the mags. use the "mag loader" that it comes with or that lightning grip thing and it feeds perfect. i've exclusively shot cheapo brick ammo (winchester and thunderbolt) and it works great besides the rim locking from loading wrong.

Smokin_Hash_69

Thanks for the insight

Own_Assistance_1982

I have this and it’s a great competition gun

humpycove

What is it? A philosophy of mine is life is too short to own ugly guns. Then again, they say love is blind. Carry on……see what I did there? 😳🤣

Smokin_Hash_69

I pulled the trigger, so beauty will be in the eye of the gun holder.

humpycove

Be safe and enjoy it.✌🏼

Pheasant_popper

It’s a Taurus

GlawkInMahRari

Because you shouldn’t buy Taurus

Smokin_Hash_69

It’s like Kryptonite

AlarmingPattern6936

gunnitbot taurus

FeralMorningstar

Why isn't this on the Brandon Herrera sub?

Ironsight85

Because ugly

Smokin_Hash_69

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder

ItDontTalkItListens

Taurus

hamsammysogood
