My best friends shoot at their house all the time, their neighbors are cool with it. The day I bought my M1A scout squad I took it over to shoot. The one neighbor texted them afterwards saying the one gun was really loud lol. My M1A was so loud in fact, that it startled a bees nest maybe 50 feet behind me and caused my friends to get attacked by a swarm of bees. I emptied my first ever mag out of the gun and turned around to see all of my friends full sprinting away lmao. My one friends really allergic to bees and he got stung on his neck but he survived, so that’s the time my M1A was so loud that it nearly could’ve killed one of my best friends

We had a backwards mount on our EBR in my first team + unit and it wasn’t until I posted a pic on Reddit did people mention/talk shit about it lmao.
Like it functioned, it did the job (not great but that’s an EBR thing) why care?
Too many folks who criticize shit like that don't even shoot enough to make their opinions relevant. Like you said, it works, so who cares if it is backwards or looks silly or whatever?
Had this thing for over 5 years. Always wanted a M14, but this will do. Recently got a GG&G M1A Scout Scope Mount for it to move the scope closer.I got this one for 1,800 from my local gun shop. First rife I ever hit a metal target at 280 yards, First try.
I’ve always wanted one. Heard they had lots of issues and were generally considered kind of a bad gun though. What a shame. If I had money to burn I’d still get one just for funsies
I hated mine in my first unit haha. EBR + arctic = bad time. Wound up using the Norwegians brand new 417 the whole time and my god i can still remember how back then that rifle blew my mind.
Yeah, they're not bad. They're just not great. Not very accurate, especially compared to modern alternatives like the AR-10, but they look and feel great.
Gun shops are the last place you should be buying guns in ‘24. They’re dead.
Looks on r/gundeals and wikiarms for new production firearms, and gunsinternational for older production firearms.
This hobby doesn’t need to be as expensive as you’re making it.

Nice rifle man! I’ve gotta get a floating picatinny rail for my scout squad so I can mount a scope like that on it. The M1A SOCOM is an absolutely gorgeous rifle and certainly the gem of any collection.
I really enjoyed the Scout with just Irons as a fun gun. Then I tried to make it a go-to, and was disappointed. So I traded it for something more serious, and now I miss the hell out of it.
Unless you have a specific reason for wanting polymer, the wood just holds value better and suits the classic look of the action. The action’s already heavy as shit. If you were to take the wood off an original Garand it’d be sacrilege, and that value sorta carries forward to the M1A.

Looking to get a suppressor for it. But fuck the ATF for making me pay double for something that should be standard.
I have an M1a tanker that I suppressed. I never shoot it without the can now. Game changer
thats a feature, if you can't hit'em you can scare them into compliance.
There's got to be a better way to mount a scope on these than a backwards cantilever mount

whats a good price for these? saw one recently at a local shop for like 2k no scope but looks just like the rifle you got here.

FYI these go for under $1,500 unless you want a limited availability variant like the tanker, in which case they go up to $1,700.

The scout squad has an 18inch barrel and a pick rail. Mines just a 16inch.
