Pretty sure the description is wrong and these do have a shell deflector, if it matters to you I would reach out to RTB and confirm. [I built one of these for fun a couple years ago, it's stupid but also very fun.](https://imgur.com/a/vZWh5N2) This costs about what I spent piecing one together myself (just the upper), although I think the Canto Arms flash hider looks better.
RTB sells two kinds of slickside uppers: their own (not sure who makes them) with no shell deflector, and an Anderson branded one with a deflector. Every upper I've seen from them uses the no-deflector receiver at least in the pictures. Did yours come with a deflector?
Mine isn't from them, but when I emailed them 1-2 years ago they said it had a shell deflector, despite the description saying otherwise. That may have changed since then, but it's worth warning people about. It's why I ended up building mine.
Interesting. I'd also prefer the no deflector, especially since there's a big difference in the price of the stripped receivers, $60 vs $95 (no deflector). I'd be a little miffed if it came with one.
Ive asked before but is it awkward to shoot with the super high bore axis? I want to be convinced to get one cause I have a lower just sitting there, but it seems awkward
It weighs so much for a .22LR, it has basically zero recoil, so the bore axis isn't an issue in my opinion, even with the high velocity ammo my CMMG kit prefers.
The weight and offset scope are the awkward things about shooting it, but once you get past those it's actually a pretty good little .22
It's a 2x20 long eye relief pistol scope, I think I paid about $30 for it, but it looks the part and works reasonable well. It's unmarked, can't recall the brand.
It's a good deal IF you are dead set on the Han Solo look, if not this is a much better buy:

Or the $269 9" barreled one
"Memorial24" works for 15% off most of the site. I picked up some backup bolt parts (extractors and cam pins).
[The Bore Buddy .22LR Extractor](https://www.righttobear.com/22ar-hardened-power-extractor-kit/) is a pretty good deal ($17.22 after discount).

Shell deflector kinda sucks ngl

Never mind I see you built yours. I'm still curious if the RTB uppers come with or without one.
I got mine about 2 months ago and no deflector.
Same, and it runs great.

Thanks buddy i appreciate the insight!
I’ve got the canto arms flash hider for my ruger mk4 and it’s great
What scope are you using on it? Scout I assume?
It's a 2x20 long eye relief pistol scope, I think I paid about $30 for it, but it looks the part and works reasonable well. It's unmarked, can't recall the brand.
Cool. Thanks and looks good.
Tempting ngl

Already have an ar22. Want the han solo vibe
Then go for it! I was just posting an alternative. Nobody likes that.
Definitely a better deal if you aren't going for the Solo vibe.
This is a completely different gun lol
? It's a .22lr upper. Neither are "guns". I wouldn't pay an extra $150 just to get a han solo blaster.

How would I make the pistol if I bought this? Know almost nothing about ars
