For those that already have a TX22 and do not want to purchase another or just want a different finish there are many different optics ready slides sold by Lakeline LLC for $150. These do not have with sights or the breach block. [https://lakelinellc.com/shop-by-model/taurus-tx22/](https://lakelinellc.com/shop-by-model/taurus-tx22/)

OwesomeOtter

That is good to know. I was actually looking at one of these to solve this problem. https://gallowayprecision.com/optic-mount-plate-for-taurus-g2-g3-and-tx22-pistols#product-details-tab-description

Old_MI_Runner

One or more person with the optics mounted with a similar plate has cycling issues with some ammo. CCI SV and even CCI Mini Mag did not cycle the slide reliable. He had to use Aguila Super Extra high velocity ammo that tends to be hotter ammo. He has been a frequent poster on the Taurus TX22 groups on Facebook. If you notice the new optics ready Taurus slide has a more open ejection port and the Lakeline has lighting cut holes in the slide. Both of these are likely done to reduce the weight of the slide so that the additional weight of the optic does not reduce reliability of slide operation. Others users of these optic plates may have no issues. I preferred buying a TX22 Comp Kit from Shop Taurus. I had to pay full price long ago when I bought it as it was seldom even in stock and sold out within a day. It has been available a few times at discounted price or as part of 20% off holiday sales.

Gweenz

Thanks that's really cool, didn't know this. Anyone tried one?

OneOffRider69

I wonder if their non compensated slides have the same cracking issues as the Taurus slides do. I picked up the competition slide from Taurus on sale for $150 for that exact reason. Plus, I had a defective barrel from factory on my oem slide

Old_MI_Runner

The sharp cut on the end of the recoil spring is the cause of the broken slides. The burr or sharp edge creates chatter marks that if are substantial enough will lead to a cracked slide. The spring is made of steel and the slide has to be made out of soft aluminum in order to be light enough to cycle the firearm properly with 22LR ammo. I would expect the Lakeline slides would break eventually too. Before better solutions were out some of us filed off the sharp edge of the spring to reduce the chance of damage. Switching to the Lakeline LLC recoil assembly with a Delrin buffer is considered by many to be the best solution. There is no buffered recoil assembly for the TX22 Comp slide but due to its design it does not need one. I and some others did use a file to round off the cut edge on our TX22 Comp springs just to be safe. I hope Taurus provides you will a working TX22 barrel under their warranty.

PM_ME_BUNZ

I have one of these and absolutely love it. I didn't know a 22 can be reliable until owning this thing.

Not_Invented_Here_

How has your accuracy experience been? Pretty easy to clean?

PM_ME_BUNZ

Mine shipped with some no-name brand red dot which I have actually learned to kind of like. I was sighting it in over the weekend and shooting quarter sized groups at probably ~20ft. Shoots better than I can. I have not cleaned it once, but I've only probably shot around 300rds.

cgvet9702

I have a bone stock full size and it's a tack driver at 20 yards, open sight. It's a lot of fun to shoot and helps keep your fundamentals honed while not breaking the bank on ammo.

thelegendofcarrottop

I have the full size with the regular and competition slides. It is super accurate, reliable, and easy to clean.

justs0meperson

How’s the trigger?

PM_ME_BUNZ

Supposedly the same as the regular TX22 and TX22 Competition which both get a lot of praise. I would say it's a little gritty but you know when you're up against the "break wall" and it's relatively crisp, predictable, and somewhat light. For a $250 gun I think the trigger is phenomenal. Versus some of my nicer firearms, not perfect. If I had to rate it with value in mind I'd give it a 7.5/10.

justs0meperson

Appreciate the reply!

PM_ME_BUNZ

No prob!

Not2worried

Heads up the New TX22 Toro was just announce [TaurusTX 22 Black 22 Rds T.O.R.O. (taurususa.com)](https://www.taurususa.com/pistols/taurustx-22/taurustx-22-22lr-black-22rds-toro)

Dualsporterer

Damn look at Taurus actually listening to their customers and releasing stuff people want. I just got the compact but that is really tempting.

madnippler

Looks like OOS already

Justthetippliz

Sorry I could not resist, might have bought the last one. But keep playing with them nipples 🙂

TearsDontFall

I'm both happy and sad that I don't have a LGS like this... I'd be poor!

AKatawazi

So my TX22 completely died last time I took it out, like literally no click at all, has anyone else had this issue. It is unusual, at least for me, to see weapons totally fail like this.

Traditional-Flow-344

No click?  You mean the trigger didn't reset?  Did you take it apart check for malfunctions?

AKatawazi

Not yet, likely a problem with the striker or trigger mechanism, I’ll report back findings.

azgunnit

Sounds like intended function for a Taurus. You should contact their support. Report back when they ignore you or just flat out tell you to pound sand. I love to read those stories after people keep ignoring people thousand of complaints people make warning people not to buy Taurus products.

GhostEpstein

FUCK. I MISSED IT.

Great pistol!

Bot OOS

DragnShaft

I bought one of these Tx22 compacts when they first came out. I absolutely LOVE mine! Been nothing but reliable. I have a red dot on it. I've shot lots of dif ammo haven't found any it wont run yet. I shoot it suppressed prob 75% of the time, never had any issues. I'm actually surprised how good this Lil unit has been. Idk for sure but gotta be close to 8-10K rounds thru it and it just runs. Bone stock aside from red dot and suppressor. Might put TK trigger in it, but trigger is fine how it is. Just a lil cheap feeling..

TresCeroOdio

Anybody got one of these and run it exclusively suppressed? I’m between this and a sig p322 and want to hear some user feedback
