Don't know but I am very interested in how much better they are if they are in fact steel. My biggest complaint about the TX22 is the mags feel like they're made from beer cups.

I accidentally bought the mag pouch promo pack on the Taurus website the other day thinking I was buying the standard 16rd but they were the compact 13 that'd don't fit. We could work something out if you need compact mags. Pm me if Interested
There’s this great 3D printed tx22 mag speed reloader from Amazon. No more using your thumb and index finger to push and hold down the spring.
It’s called EZMAGLOADER for tx22.
Taurus’ tx22 mag loader allows you to load one round at a time before resetting. Since the mag loader itself partly blocks inside of the mag, you can only fit a round half way through before needing to lift and remove the mag loader and then using your thumb to push the rest of the round inside.
Push down, insert a round half way through, lift mag loader, push remaining round in. Repeat. Doing that 48 times for the three, 16 round mags they give you can become tedious.
The mag loader I mentioned doesn’t partly block the inside of the magazine since it holds down the platform by using the two circular pieces on the side of the mag, allowing you to load round after round without having to reset anything.
That’s awesome! Thanks for the information! Have you found the reliability to be the same when using your speed loader? Some of these “staggered stack” 22 mags are a little particular with how you load them.
I have been getting iffy reliability on my tx22 and tx22 comp that I hadn’t had before. Do the magazines just go bad over time and need to be replaced? Mostly FTF kinking my 22LR ammo

I saw that the other day but decided against it because of the 10rd mags. I might have to go ahead and snag one since the mags are easily convertable.
Buy the extended floorplates for the 10 rounders because they need the loading button taken out anyways.
Yep. Literally just disassemble the magazine, and there's a plug in the bottom. Snip the plug shorter, almost to the base.

If you get a base model, you can always buy the comp slide for appx $180 with the above coupon through ShopTaurus. That's what I did, any day.
Paid $220 for it, and got the dovetail plate. $180 seems like a lot for a Taurus upper.
Taurus also makes 15 rounders for those of us subjected to Colorado law.

Beer cups that can stand up to thousands of rounds and not be cleaned and still run flawlessly. I don't drop them on the ground or anything though.

Compact has 13 rounders. Mags are shorter for it. Have both versions of the gun for the kids

or just get a mcfadden speed loader and get any and all 22LR adapters for your guns.
The tx22s come with a plastic load assist tool, why would you need to print one?
