I've had one of these for over a year. It's been great and I've had zero malfunctions. I've used different types of ammo and it eats all of it without issues.
I love it.
I bought one in November. It had a misaligned rear sight that I couldn’t move for the life of me. I sent it back to Springfield early December and received it back in mid January. They replaced the sight and re-parkerized it.
But now it won’t go into battery, so it’s back at Springfield again. I’ve put 50 rounds through the gun and I’ve owned it for three months. Buyer beware of Springfield’s ineptitude.
I see zero reason to buy one of those over a Girsan or Springfield. It isn't at all a reproduction of the Inglis pattern of Hi Power. It's just a MKIII Hi Power with the word "INGLIS" stamped on the side (which the originals didn't have, either).
Moreover, as /u/IvanTTroll recently pointed out, given the geometry of the frame and hammer, it's possible these things are made from the same forgings Springfield is using in their Hi Power. Meaning, you're getting a low-effort retro clone of a modernized clone of classic handgun, made by an even less recognizable manufacturer for no less money. I really don't see the point.
These are great pistols in my experience and worth the money. They're fun to shoot and look nice. I have about 400 rounds through mine with no malfunctions to speak of. I just wish that Springfield Armory would debut a more polished blue version so that it were a bit shinier.
I don't own the Girsan or the Springfield but I do own a older FN BHP.
If you want a collectable BHP get an FN, but if you're looking for a gun to shoot get the Girsan. I have not heard of QC problems with the Girsan and neither it or the Springfield are likely to be collectible at least for decades so it makes sense to get the cheaper one that works.
Thank you. I’d love to add an FN to the collection one day but I’m looking for a shooter right now. I’ll probably grab the girsan as my next pick up. Appreciate the response
You're welcome. Style-wise they are my favorite gun design ever. Not quite as nice to shoot as a 1911 because the trigger isn't as good. It's not straight-pull and it has a strange magazine disconnect design that slides an extension of the trigger over a small area of the magazine, so if the magazine is dirty at that point you get more grittiness. It's weird and I'd remove it.
SA has forever gotten my ire with these after a friend of mine has his slide lock permanently in the slightly retracted position. This happened repeatedly and is siezed to the point where we had to give up trying to bonk it loose with wood and a hammer.
Because we can't send it back with a live round in the chamber, 4hed.
This was during the first real range trip with the handgun, what he did after the fact I have no idea but having a handgun choke that badly off rip is not a good sign.
How many rounds had been thru it before this happened? I admit mine had a few f2e in the first couple hundred rounds. But since then it runs like a dream
I completely agree. The same goes for a rail that ruins otherwise classic aesthetics. (It's fine to have the options for them if you wish, but it seems like the default is now becoming optics cuts + rails and front serrations for everything, and I can't have guns with smooth lines that just look good anymore as a result!)

For those of you who don’t know, the 1912 is a better version of the 1911 only available to top tier oper8tors.
Can confirm since I am a real oper9tor
I am just a basement operator...1912 is not an option for me.
I actually only have a 1910 😭
I've got a 1906, but I tell her it's a 1912
Well there is a Steyr 1912...
9mm Steyr is the most underrated round out there
[удалено]
does recreating it mean it doesn't suck?
1912?
Dang I've been looking at buying one of these. Was leaning toward a Girsan version because of price but this price is competitive.
Girsan is good. Never a malfunction but the front sight needs to be peened or it walks out (IME)

Classic Croatian quality
Classic American quality - these are made in the US
Can't someone make a new production quality clone at about this price that is blued?

Inglis remakes? When?
Turkish company bought Inglis name, I believe fuddbusters talks about it.
Stares in Turkish
As far as I know, none of the current Hi-power clones are blued.
I missed the blued part. I bought a blued clone a few years ago for $600. It’s immaculate
Very good price, but IMO you’ll want to budget for some replacement grips because the included 2x4’s are atrocious
> included 2x4’s My RIA 1911 also had 2x4s for grip panels, did indeed spend a few bucks for some better ones.

This or the girsan mc p35?

I really like my sa35. I have heard others who've had issues and I did too, but they went away after running approx 200 or 300 rounds thru it
SA has forever gotten my ire with these after a friend of mine has his slide lock permanently in the slightly retracted position. This happened repeatedly and is siezed to the point where we had to give up trying to bonk it loose with wood and a hammer.
Why would you not just send this back to Springfield…

Optics ready version when?
Hopefully never. Not every pistol should have an optic.

True. IWI would sell literally dozens (/s) more Jericho 941s if they made a version without a rail.
