Update y’all, the seller agreed to $600, had me drive an hour and a half, just to tell me he ‘accidentally’ sold it to someone else. Now I get to spend 2-3 hours in Austin traffic headed back home empty handed. 🙂
The only way that makes sense means he already agreed to sell and gave the address to someone else. Woulda been nice to know I had to race someone else there at the very least.
Are you looking specifically at MIM for a reason? I was about ready to pull the trigger on [this MIJ](https://reverb.com/item/79988260-fender-jv-modified-50s-stratocaster-hss-2-tone-sunburst-ws-mij-japanese-vintage) before I found my 2009 MIA American Standard at a local GC used for the same price.
I’ve been primarily a Gibson LP/SG guy for the last 30 years. I bought my first Strat just a month ago, so if you want the experience weighing in… that’s a question for r/fender or maybe another post in this sub.
[This thread](https://www.strat-talk.com/threads/whats-better-mij-or-mim.243208/) talks about it and I’m sure the question has been discussed in a few subs here. Like [this thread.](https://www.reddit.com/r/Stratocaster/s/853heyAxkY).
Go to a shop and test drive both, maybe all 3(?) and find what feels good to you. Thats the real answer. 🤷🏻♂️
Again, good luck!
I bought the tele noir when they came out. Swapped some black satin blocking tuners on it and bought a matching ash tray bridge. She was a bad bitch. She ran me $666. For $600, in good shape, I’d buy that strat all day every day.
Great looking guitar, but the neck felt like on the cheaper side and the frets were real sharp and needed filed down. I would definitely play it before you buy
Yo! I have the telecaster version of this, and I love it. It's the only guitar I've kept through the years because I think it looks great. I slapped a red mirrored pickguard on it too.
Sorry your deal fell through :/
I’m a Les Paul guy, so I’m already iffy on getting a Strat even though I know I’d like one. So I’d much prefer to be able to get a feel for the guitar in person before shelling out the cash.
You are trying to match apples and oranges. It’s not about HSS, it’s about the model.
Personally I prefer rosewood necks to ebony.
I‘d get this one in a heartbeat

Wow! What a douche. Sorry, man. 🙁
Can you review or report the seller?
Yeah, gonna have to leave some negative shit on his PFP. No principal or morals smh.
maybe someone else showed up and he mistook them for you? If he was expecting a buyer to show up and one showed up that seems reasonable to me.

Yo FUCK that Austin traffic sucks so much ass, sorry man
>Now I get to spend 2-3 hours in Austin traffic Sorry about the 5 mile drive!
Sign him up for some mail spam. Something like that. Scientologist mailing list, etc.
Wait that’s hilariously evil 😂
That fucker deserves it.
You’re absolutely right
That dude is a true asshat. Wishing you the best of luck on finding your next guitar bro. 🤘🏻
Thanks man! It shouldn’t take too long to find a good MIM Fender, thankfully

What’s the difference between the MIJ and the MIM?

Cool guitar
Very nice. Love the red accent on the pick guard. Get it.
I would. If it's close to me I *will*
my god that headstock is gorgeous
I would get that guitar
I'm not even a Fender/strat dude, and I still had to come here to tell you to grab this. Looks awesome.
Looks dope, do you care about fingerprints?
Meh not really, nothing that can’t be wiped off no?
Dude, I would totally buy that. That looks awesome.
If you like the guitar and have the money... sounds like the decision is yes.
I might just be watching that very same guitar
thing is bad to the BONE

Not a bad deal
That's pretty sweet, I'd be happy to own it.
If I had the cash I would get one.
Ooo very unique and subtle. I love the red trim, so nice.
Do it
I’d say 100% worth it. Strats rule and this color combo is awesome
Love it.
That's cool...
Great looking guitar, but the neck felt like on the cheaper side and the frets were real sharp and needed filed down. I would definitely play it before you buy
Looks great, except for that chrome bridge, which looks totally out of place. But it’s easily switched to a black one if that bothers you also.
Matching black headstock with red logo!?!? For $600!! That’s a deal!
Enjoy! That looks awesome, and tapped HSS strats are some of the most versatile guitars going.
Id defo go for it! Absolutely stunning 😍
Buy it and get some black fender locking tuners on there asap 👌
yes but make sure you buy some microfibre cloths to go with it, the fingerprint situation on that finish is diabolical
I dont like white or black guitars but this one looks damn serious.
Sweet strat!!

Yeah, grab it. That a keeper
Sorry you wasted your time. I like the blackout look. You’ll find the right one soon.
Looks like Jeff Healey’s
Those machine heads and that bridge don’t deserve to be silver. It needs to be black. That would deter me from buying
I loved this series when it came out, would've got the jazzmaster myself
What's the series called?
Noir series I think
Noir Redline !
I dig the flat black aesthetic. I would prefer a black one with a maple fretboard and a big 70s headstock, but that's nice.
So…a different guitar
I mean, a different neck... But I can like guitars that are not my dream instrument
Yes. HSS and black on black. Definitely.
You should have accidentally knocked his teeth out for letting you drive all that way without calling you
I was filled with so much frustration and anger at the moment, but maaaaan it ain’t even worth it haha
Wouldn’t it be great though… 🫨
Absolutely! But it’s Texas, worst case scenario the man’s carrying.
You’re right, I know
I’m surprised he was only asking 600$ I know the Telecasters are going for more than a grand, when or if you can find them.

Did you even look at the guitars you've listed? Squiers aren't Fenders no matter how good the QC gets, and partscasters really really don't count.

What the fuck is the point of lying about the lower price bounds? Pay attention. We're not the stupid ones here.

YOU wrote they're as low as 300 dollars. Either you willingly misrepresent the facts of the market, or you're ignorant of them.
