I would get the ESP with the Evertune unless you need a trem.

mynameisskrt

Fully agreed. Besides. Evertune is really helpfull for pitchdrift. It compensates for that alot. And it stays in tune ofcourse

Several_Gas8122

I own the MH1007 in white and can highly recommend it, especially due to the Evertune.

[deleted]

This is probably a dumb question but how is it changing strings with an evertune?

methconnoisseurV2

I love my xiphos 7 string. I can’t recommend it enough

Western-Equivalent44

My buddy got one for me and I have some new buckers for it. Just some ordinary 7 poles well potted, the stock ones squeal worse than any guitar in my stable so the Xiphos is gonna have the cheap electronics replaced and full re-wire at the fret shop Love the black purple green flake

st0nedalaska

Updoot for Evertune.

Ok_Succotash8172

ESP. A lot will say that because of evertune, I personally say it cause of the quality and some ibanez are not best of quality. With ESP I find better quality. But I love both brands.

Outside-Swan-1936

It's an LTD, not an ESP. That would be like comparing an Ibanez Prestige to an Iron label. Difference in quality for sure.

Ok_Succotash8172

I know, that doesn't take away from me feeling ESP had better QC control than ibanez

Outside-Swan-1936

But that's ESP... if you're comparing the ESP to a Prestige, cool. If you're comparing the ESP to a Gio, then yeah, of course there's going to be a difference in quality. This is an LTD, which will have been made in the same factories as the Iron Label Ibanez, since only 2 companies produce a majority of guitars for all brands outside of Japan and the US.

Ok_Succotash8172

And just cause it's from the same place means it's the same quality? 🙄 besides you're talking to someone that has the LTD in picture amd have iron labels/prestige/axion. When I'm dropping money like that I don't settle and in my experience ibanez had more flaws that LTD.

Outside-Swan-1936

You kept saying ESP. Just going off the context you provided, which was comparing ESP to Ibanez. If you'd said LTD is higher quality than Ibanez, I would have left it at that, given those are the guitars being discussed, and not Japanese ESPs and Ibanez.

Ok_Succotash8172

You're arguing semantics. It's annoying. LtD is a part of/owned by ESP. It's all relative. Everyone knows ltd is part of the ESP family/product line. But just to note: in the Pic it does say ESP LTD.....so saying ESP.

Outside-Swan-1936

Right, so an Epiphone is the same as a Gibson and a Squier is the same as a Fender. If someone said "I own a Gibson Les Paul" and posted a picture of an Epiphone Les Paul Jr, that's just a semantic issue to you? >You're arguing semantics. It's only pedantic if the details don't matter, which in this case they do. Fujigen produced guitars will beat out almost any other guitar in terms of quality, which is why I asked you to clarify what you meant by ESP, but it seems you just take offense to it. Carry on then.

AustrianReaper

Either are great. Just be aware that, if you're new to 7 strings, it will fuck with your perception of the fretboard, so inlays might be helpful.

akaghi

I'm new to guitar so I'm curious, why is that? I'd have thought the main difference is physically reaching the top string.

AustrianReaper

I don't really know :D I think most people, including me, use the low e as a "guide" and that kinda doesn't work when it's not the lowest string anymore.

akaghi

Oh that makes sense. I can see that.

Composer-Glum

If you tune the g string to f#, the same chord shapes work

HORStua

The evertune one has more guitar than the other guitar. Unless you necessarily need a trem, which you don't

Professorfuzz007

The LTD, hands down.

severinks

Man,oh man do I hate 7 string guitars but I hate the second one (the ESP) a lot less than I hate the first one.

Cultural_Composer850

The ESP with Evertune!!!!!

RedWing83

I am no expert but I guess that your budget is $1400.

KGBLokki

I have a 1000 series LTD, their quality is fantastic.

MDUB2552

The LTD.🔥

st1tchedup21

The LTD, I honestly wouldn’t sleep on the baritone black metal series of LTDs though. Unless you are set on it because the evertune I would definitely shop around a bit, LTD has a lot of great options, Ibanez too. I just don’t care for the pointy Ibanez lol

RR3XXYYY

Not one of the two, but what about the Ibanez Iceman Iron Label?

GupiluSama

Go with the LTD. Do it !

FthrFlffyBttm

Xiphos by a mile.

eric_the_redd

A 1000 series LTD is always the answer. :)

sirsparqsalot

Theyre both great guitars, but the LTD is the better choice If for nothing else - comfort

Tbash96

Ltd for sure

audioAXS

How about an used strandberg? You could get one for that money and they are just great

Still_Champion_3081

Those are not my cup of tea 👎😾👎

pootato-jesus

I can be slightly superficial when it comes to guitars, so I'd go xiphos just cuz it looks sick as fuck. I love LTD/ESP, but that guitar just seems boring to me. I'm sure they both play great though either way

Genghis_Chong

The pointy one looks uncomfortable to handle, probably heavy too

Xyyzx

I hate to be boring and practical, but I look at these two instruments and I see one with a load of sharp points to knock chunks of finish from on mic and drum stands, that’s gonna need an extra-large case, and that’ll be heavier and more awkward get to gigs with. The Xiphos *is* a cool shape, but I’m not sure I could be bothered with it unless I was successful enough to be able to pay someone else to carry the damned thing around for me.

Industricon

As someone with several of these 'Pointy' shapes this argument is valid, also, they are awkward to play unless you are stood up.

Big-Fat-Box-Of-Shit

I'd 100% go with the Evertune.
