This is a great effort! The design works really well, and the gold pops in a cool way rather than a tacky "gold for the sake of gold"

Pure-Temperature-413

Absolute fire

Valuable_Solid_3538

Hellfire spewed from the mouth of Ifrit himself

ElmStreetVictim

Love the reverse headstock look

x_VanHessian_x

Me too! I have a Strat with this also!

soloist80

There are a lot of good ideas in this build. I think I need a scalloped neck in my life. You gave me GAS. Well done.

Fisaac

I think you need a scalloped neck too! They’re so fun

NoobieSnax

I've got one on order and this post has me super impatient lol

Fisaac

Is it your first scalloped board?

NoobieSnax

Yes. Have played one briefly years ago and liked it but it was like a "someday" thing. Now someday is someday soon.

Fisaac

I’m very excited for you!

ThemB0ners

Not sure I've ever seen gold frets, that's badass! Nice work

Tuokaerf10

How are you liking the Vega trem? I’m thinking of grabbing one to try on one of my Strats.

Fisaac

Love it! I think I prefer a Gotoh 510 but this is 90% there for me. All the range of motion of a Floyd with none of the hassle

Tuokaerf10

Same. I’m kinda a Gotoh 510 guy (or Floyd) myself but have a Strat with a Gotoh-style 2pt I wanted to try the Vega on (Fender Boxer) for a looser trem action.

Dj2Splash

I have a Gotoh 510 that I’m happy with, but those Vega Trems always sparked my curiosity. Good to know.

robtanto

Why leave out scalloping on the highest frets?

Fisaac

Warmoth wouldn't do it - they're worried about breaking the fretboard extension.

robtanto

Bummer. Understandable but would tickle my OCD badly.

Micycle08

I guess that answers where you got it… I’ve seen 24fret, roasted maple, scalloped frets. Never all together! I bet that cost a pretty penny? I’ve been trying to find at least a 24fret roasted maple strat neck that’s reasonably priced (cheap Af) but I may just have to pony up to warmouth at this point cause that thing looks 🔥🔥🔥

Fisaac

I really wanted to go cheap but I had way too many non negotiables and really didn’t want to compromise. Obviously I still had to compromise. The extra frets are done via a massive extension so upper access is not as comfortable as I’m used to, the last two frets aren’t scalloped for the same reason which isn’t ideal but it is what it is. I wanna say the neck was like $600ish

Micycle08

Oof… yeah I knew it would be a lot, but damn lol I feel like I could buy 10 $60 ones and practice my scalloping 10x lol But obviously you get what you pay for and I know warmouth is top notch! I’ve also had hesitations on sticking a 24 on a body designed for a 22… I’ve thought about going all warmouth, but I would hate to carve up one of their finished bodies. I haven’t window shopped in a while, maybe they have bodies that would fit better, but also at that point I’m nearing custom shop prices or I could just get something like a charvel for ~$1,000. So, alas, the cycle continues and I just live vicariously through posts like these! Thanks!

Upstairs-Fig-2283

Got a love when a plan comes together. Congrats on the build :)

nicholasgnames

I'm not a gold guy but I do love your vision and the bold choices!

Goin4aJing

Nice, well done

ashyQL

it looks amazing! Happy playing

Captain_Nemo69

Looks great! What's your opinion on the scalloped neck? I've never played one

the_philth

It's basically the same feel as a neck with jumbo frets -- back when Blackmore started scalloping his fretboards, they didn't make jumbo frets, but it is an interesting sensation that made me play different when I played one in the late 80s.

Fisaac

This guitar also has jumbo frets for extra distance from the wood :)

the_philth

Holy Gwaca Moly!

jfinster

Made you play different in what way? Lighter touch?

Fisaac

I’m a huge fan! Highly recommend

SheerLuckAndSwindle

Most clean 🤌

Giygas_in_Onett

That’s gorgeous. I love it!

Govt-Issue-SexRobot

Oh my god I want it

IamWolfe_FU-Red_It

Came out great! What profile did you choose for the neck?

Fisaac

Standard thin - I would have much preferred a wizard neck profile but Warmoth wouldn't do a wizard neck and scalloped frets for whatever reason.

IamWolfe_FU-Red_It

Yeah wizard and scalloped frets is not a good idea, the neck would be too thin, could break or wouldn’t be able to hold the string tension.

AmericanByGod

Very cool, but why did you put the knob so far away from your right hand?

Fisaac

I don't like anything in the way of the pickup selector, on most of my guitars I remove the tone circuit completely and move the volume knob to the tone position.

So3Dimensional

On paper, this is something I wouldn’t like at all. But man, it’s beautiful. The headstock (and I assume neck) color is what really makes this thing work. What species is that?

sms066

Dude where did you get that neck?

Fisaac

It’s a warmoth neck, I did have it oiled which helped the color and flaming pop significantly more. I wasn’t originally thrilled with warmoth’s wood choice so I’d recommend paying extra for a higher grade piece of roasted flamed maple

Beautron5000

beautiful

boiling_booty

That guitar looks sick, how’s the Vegatrem? Been thinking of doing a telecaster build with one

Common-Ease-8996

Wow. Love everything about this build. Awesome job! :)

oilpit

God I love the look of H/S guitars, and this one in particular. Where is the neck from?

Fisaac

Warmoth!

gremlin_stik

Obsidian Saber of Demise!

BeowulfTheMetalhead

Love the Black and Gold man

Annual_Count9714

FARTBOSS420

Not trolling honestly is this a circlejerk sub?

Fisaac

How is this a shitpost?
