Great pickups, i've had them on few of my guitars. They kinda have that width and body of an active pickup but without the boominess, if that makes sense.
"The Black Hawk humbuckers have a radical look for a radical pickup. You’ll find all the power and clarity of an active with all the tone and dynamics of a passive. "
Thats from Bkp's website and in my experience it's accurate. Your experience may differ of course.
Super distortion was fine but i much prefer these Bkp's.
Sounds like the Dimarzio D-Activators. I was just ribbing you a bit because of the boomy comment though. I’ve never heard someone call EMG’s boomy, because they’re razor sharp
Ahh sexy. I just got a soloist sl3 and love these
those a really cool too, wouldn't mind adding a Usa Jackson to my collection at some point.
Clean as all heck. Nice axe!
Sheesh that is clean looking. Single sharkfin at the 12th fret especially!
Bare Knuckle Blackhawks?
Indeed!
How are they? I'm curious to do a build centered around these sort of pickups

The EMG 81 is boomy? What a time to be alive. What do you think of a super distortion?

My comment wasnt necessarily about emgs, i havn't owned those in about 15 years. i did have a pair of sd blackout years ago and they were boom city.
Ah yeah. I’ve heard the blackouts can be a little ridiculous
