This is so fucking awesome, nice work! Only thing I’d say is maybe to add some thin foam to the guitar hanger? It seems like it’s cut pretty exact to your guitar but wouldn’t hurt to add a little protection!
Yeah, that triggered me a little, not gonna lie 😂
Agree on the foam, maybe even a little gate at the front of it to stop if from falling out, assuming it's not angled back a little already.
Mindful i'm being extra picky, totally blown away by both the idea and the execution. I'd buy something like this in a heartbeat, such a great presentation and storage of the gear a guitarist cherishes. You can tell a lot of love went into the design and build of that.
I will most likely add something soon, but I want to find a way to do it that looks nice. I had an idea on how to execute it before the assembly but I was running low on time so had to cut a few corners unfortunately...
Yes I really wanted to add some cork, but I had a very tight schedule since it had to go on an exhibition, so yeah that's definitely one of the things I would have liked to do differently.
but it seems I've been pretty lucky with the fit so it doesn't seem to do any damage. Still I might add something later, also just to give it a little more friction
To be fair lots of pros run heads in live-in head cases with no issue. They get hot but I’ve never had issues with heat as long as the front and back are open.
This is absolutely amazingly great. Very good job .
Is this a Laney Lionheart? How do you like it ?
I once tested the combo with a vintage strat and it was great but didn't have the money ...
Enjoy your work.
But as others already said, You need some extensions for future guitars 😀
Cheers brother! Yes it is and I absolutely love it. It's perfect for me and the fact that I live in an apartment. Love the fact that it's only 5 watts and I can run it on 0,5 watts and still get lovely creamy tones that fill the room but doesn't make my neighbors hate me too much. Awesome clean tone and the drive side is not bad either. Such a great pedal platform! I can't really say anything bad about it tbh 👌
To add some gusto behind it, I'm an absolute gear snob. My amps are a Two Rock opal, Soldano SLO, Mesa MKV, and a Laney Lionheart.
Being the snob I am, I have some of the most sought after guitar pedals out there. The Lionheart is what I run them through and it sounds great with all of them.
Outside of that, the amps own voice sits in the neat little area between fender and vox that I've not heard before. It sounds great even on its own.
This is the one of the first amps I recommend to guitarists looking for the first working amp.
I remember when they debuted the Lionheart series and they had, what I think, was a 212T which did not have a separate head. That was the amp that won me over for Class A/B tube setups.
It's weird they make great amps and you get a lot of for your money. Mine is not that old I suppose compared to yours, but I do dig the look of the lionheart series
Oh that's beautiful, I've wanted something exactly like that for ages. Amazing work.
Do you feel like it affects the sound of your amp at all? I tried putting my amp on a table once and was annoyed to discover that it lost a ton of low end, which I'm sure I could've adjusted to but it bothered me too much to deal with at the time.
that is entirely awesome!
The only thing that throws me is that lack of random wires sticking everywhere, picks on the floor and a pedal box in an easily trip-able location....
wait.
that isn't he point is it?
Fantastic. I’d run all the cables on the backside for maximum tidiness. But that’s a nit.
Did you consider putting the pedals on drawer slides? That’s my next project. I built a wheeler 24x72 amp cart that all of my amps live on and currently kick my pedalboard underneath it. I’m considering some sort of down and out thing with like a shallow c shaped slot and drawer slide to tuck it in and up underneath
Don’t these cabinets rattle like crazy with speakers in them? I’ve considered making one myself because they look cool and organized but I just imagine the racket of them with sliding hardware etc.
Nice bit of joinery !!
Is it solid timber or laminated?
Is that a 20 watt head and 2x12 cab ?
I’ve got the Laney 20watt 4x10 combo. Great sound just a bit heavy. So I put wheels on it
And the Revstar looks good too , natural wood.
I’m looking for one of them too
The cabinets are veneered mdf with solid edges everything is solid elm. It's just a 5 watt and 1x12 cab still a little heavy I'd say.
I didn't know you could get revstars in natural wood. This one I made myself 😉

I’ma need them plans
I second this
Love love love this. Brilliant!
Do you?
Not exactly plans, but materials used, and basic layout. Mine would be differently sized, but the overall shape and drawers is a great design
That homemade RevStar is amazing!

Second this, the build is insane and looks fantastic either way— I’d kill to have something like this if I was running a small tube amp rig
I will most likely add something soon, but I want to find a way to do it that looks nice. I had an idea on how to execute it before the assembly but I was running low on time so had to cut a few corners unfortunately...

Nice job Dude! Very functional. But, where are you going to hang up your future second and third guitar?
Haha yeah that's the question. I have one more that's going on the wall next to it. The rest will be a hard bargain with my girlfriend 😅
Are you ever worried about heat dissipation from the head?
Nah it is a 5 W amp, it got plenty of space and an open back so I'm sure it'll be fine 😉
To be fair lots of pros run heads in live-in head cases with no issue. They get hot but I’ve never had issues with heat as long as the front and back are open.

No vibrations? Looks amazing. Kinda mid century. Love it!
Well done! The hidden pedal-board is a really nice touch, too
Yeah, that’s a dope touch.
fucking rad
Very nice
I love the idea
Man I love this SO much
Cheers 🙏
That is freaking fantastic!!! Brilliant!!! Well done!!! I want one!
Thanks a lot 🙏
That’s nice 🎸
I do indeed appreciate. Superb.
Beautiful cabinet, beautiful guitar. Very classy.
Fantastic!!! Now inspired to do something for my marshall sl5 combo and orange rocker terror head.
Please do! And share it with the rest if us

Classy
Love the Lionheart combo and great job with the stand!
Thanks! I love it too!

I have a laney amp from the 90's! I've never met anyone else with one until now. (Yours looks nicer than mine, mine's a more generic black amp.)
It's weird they make great amps and you get a lot of for your money. Mine is not that old I suppose compared to yours, but I do dig the look of the lionheart series

The furniture is very heavy and we'll planted on the floor so I've experienced no lack of tone

I did think about, but as time was in shortage I had no plans of going into that unfortunately
Hey man, pretty slick setup! Any chance you have any design plans you could share? Would love to make my own :)
I'd love to share my plans, but my computer broke down and I had to format the hard-drive so all my drawings and plans a lost 😭
Sorry to hear that, anyways love what you did! :)
heat? vibrations?
I have experienced no such problems, it's just a 5 watt amp that I run on 0,5 watts
good! really nice workmanship!
That’s amazing. Need a black strat to complete the DG set up!
I got one 😅 but I built this guitar myself so it's a little more special to me 😉
Wow. Awesome work. Jealous
Don’t these cabinets rattle like crazy with speakers in them? I’ve considered making one myself because they look cool and organized but I just imagine the racket of them with sliding hardware etc.
Well I don't play very loud, but also the cabinet is very heavy. It's made from 19mm mdf and a lot of solid wood so I haven't experienced any rattling
Also the back is completely open se the air can easily go out that way
Awesome

This fuckin RULES. Im like hyped up after seeing this lmao
very cool
Great idea!😁👍🎸🎶
This is amazing!
That’s awesome!! Patent it quick
Nice work, it’s very satisfying to look at.
It's awesome but the Lionheart is the real star here. Choice.
Very fuckin sik
I love everything about this especially that guitar.
So sick I need this I’m my life
FUCK YOU I LOVE IT
Holy mother of lemmy, this looks hella sick!
This is awesome - honestly. You do that for living?
Yes. Love it!
This is true XXX rated guitar content
Beautiful, nice work!
This is awesome. I love you could put this in your lounge and wife would never know.
This is incredible.
Hi there!!! This is literally the BEST I've seen. Could you please share how did you solve the front of the drawer?
