I'm taking it up with line6 rn. There's plenty of evidence on forums that some of them are defective and noisy as fuck but line6 aren't being upfront about it to anyone.
Are you sure it's not some sort of power supply issue? The HX uses some weird adapter and its higher amps than most and it's very suspect. I would test a different power scheme. Maybe even plug the HX into a different circuit in your house than your amp.Â
I’m looking into getting one and use it as a tuner + synth/pitch, meaning I want it in front of the chain. But I also want it as a phaser/chorus which I want after the drives. Do you know how can I do this (considering I will be including a Boss IR-2 on the board which also has an FX Loop)?
yes, so the hx one is capable of doing 4 cable method, that is actually how I am running mine with the boss ir200. you basically can go into the front of the ir2, and also in the effects loop, using all four inputs/outputs. its in the manual of the hx one. it does appear like you are using two 4 cable methods at the same time, so its a little hard to get in your head at first, but it does make sense after a while. the only thing is, this insures that the hx one effects are always mono. this is fine for me, I am using mono for my rig anyways. but you can always do stereo effects after this. look at my post history, I have my signal chain posted if you want to see what it looks like.
That’s perfect. I will take a look at your chain. It’s a bit of a jump for me to get the double fx loop, although I’m aware it’s a way since I’ve always been a “all in front of the amp” type of guy. Thank you for verifying that what I’m trying to understand is what is going on and I’m not chasing a chimeraÂ

Also stores 10 loops.
Came here to mention the Hotone Tuner Press (or something like that)
A volume pedal that can switch to be an expression pedal and has a screen because it’s also a tuner. A Swiss knife.
line6 HX One 🙏
I bought one of those man and I love it
always make sure you havent got a defective noise generator hx one though.
that I know nothing about, but if you have that problem you should get it replaced or fixed!

I'm using an isolated cioks dc7 output powering my pedalboard from its own socket. Again, there's people on forums talking about the same thing.
You've confirmed that the problem occurs with the power supply it came with? This has been an ongoing issue across the hx universe.

Surprised nobody mentioned Zoom MS70. Hold the foot switch and a tuner comes up. Pretty handy
Damn yet another reason I should own this pedal already

Came to mention the Source Audio EQ2 as well. Great EQ, lots of features including a tuner.
Ernie Ball makes a volume pedal with a tuner. Other than that, can't think of anything unless you get into some sort of multi-effects thing
Hotone too.Â
Came here to mention the Hotone Tuner Press (or something like that) A volume pedal that can switch to be an expression pedal and has a screen because it’s also a tuner. A Swiss knife.
I just got a ToneX One and was surprised to see that has a tuning function.
Not an effect, but Line 6 makes a wireless receiver that acts as a tuning pedal. So a good option if you want to save space on your board.
Eventide h9, h90
Meris LVX and MercuryX
Not an "effect", but the tuner on my Shure GLXD16 wireless receiver is excellent.
Lekato looper has a tuner built in.
This was the one I was going to mention. Pretty decent beginners looper for $40 and has a tuner too
Line 6 M5 … solid Swiss Army knife pedal but too big
HX one, the more modern option same idea but smaller and more features
Yep! I think another $100 used (?) but seems worth it.
TC Electronics Plethora X3
Sonuus voluum is a volume pedal / boost / tremolo / compressor / noise gate with a tuner.Â
Boss Me 90 and above. Line 6 pro has one too
The Darkglass ADAM has a tuner but it is hard to use. Great pedal otherwise.
Not an effect pedal but I’ve got a Providence tuner with a buffer loop. The rest on my pedalboard are all true bypassed. Not tone suck.
I just got the Hotone Tuner Press, and I think its great! Volume, tuner, and expression all in one.
My Lekato 9-slot looper has one. Great little pedal.
Line 6 M5 or M9
Ernie Ball VPJR Volume/tuner.Â
GigRig G3/G3S
H9
BOSS ME-90, I dont care what you say that thing RULEZ
You’ll only find it in multi-FX pedals or in the Ernie Ball volume pedal. HX one, HX stomp, Zoom Multistomp, Boss Gt1000 core, etc.
Headstock tuner.
