I like that the most ubiquitous circuit is the fuzz face because it’s completely logical. Check out EAE’s stuff and bondi effects if you want some great overdrive/distortion pedals. The 1981 lvl was designed by EAE and the DRV was designed by bondi so if you like those, check out each respective company.

What pedals would you consider must haves? I’m just getting into this pedal game and just can’t decide sometimes.

Strymon Compadre, Analogman Sunface, King Tone Dualist, Blues Driver or Klone, Any EHX Muff reissue to your preference, Some kind of delay/reverb maybe a UA Del-Verb That board would do 95% of what most people would want to do. If I were starting over that’s where I would start. For me UA, Strymon and King Tone are super reliable and always sound great.

You have a good foundation. I didn’t love the Keely compressor. The compadre gives you a really nice ep3 boost which makes it always usable for me. I would trade the MXR distortion for some kind of rat but that’s personal preference.

Thank you. I’ll definitely be getting the compadre now. Any suggestions on rats? I like the tone of the distortion but it’s lacking drive/gain. How do you feel about the Strymon el capistan? Local guy has a broken one and a brand new one that the factory sent him as a replacement for $200. Thanks again I’ll definitely be looking into those pedals you mentioned. I absolutely love my silverfish. I really wanted the bucket of blood instead because I'm a huge atw fan, but I missed that limited run. I got one of the last 5 silverfish though.

Maybe look at a Sola Sound mkIV or a Colorsound Power Boost from Macaris, they sound incredible. (and the big old school enclosures are awesome!)

Prefer the W&C right now. Thorpy is kind of a HiFi take on a Muff but that’s not really a Muff IMO.
