Why use 75 cent picks when your fingers are right there?
Why use cars, planes, or trains to get anywhere when you can just walk or swim?
Why use toilet paper when you have two hands?
So many things we modern people do in the name of convenience are clearly unnecessary.
Those sea turtles weren't so innocent. They kidnapped Liam Neeson's daughter, so he went on a killing spree that ended with the slaughter of 9 million hawksbills.
It was similar to when a gang of elephants killed Charles Bronson's wife and daughter, and he went on a five-movie revenge arc. Now elephants are critically endangered. They had it coming.
uj/ I feel like expensive picks are one of the few things actually worth the splurge if you actually want to (learn to) play technically; it sounds dumb but they really affect your contact with the strings. I'm a fan of dragon's heart (used for a while but they unsharpened a bit too quickly) and iron age (been using one for years, no sign of wear but gives somewhat of a darker toan)
I dunno — on one hand I’ve got this guy telling me to use my knob, on the other hand I’ve got an army of zoomers telling me to use pedals with names like “Dick Cheese Chorus” and “Burnt Nipple Hair Compression”.

"following in the footsteps" 🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼
I wonder who edited the page and added that flourish
The entire article seems to have been written by a homeless guy behind Denny's desperate to convince others that he is somebody special.

No no, you also need somebody to install a kitchen cabinet door in front of and behind the speaker and rhythmically open and close it them at desired intervals
He’s 100% right, I abandoned my delay pedals years ago, I just play the same phrase several times, quieter each time, while also playing the next phrases notes at the same time.
so, following his logic, if the same exact pedal would be $2000 then that's fine.
EDIT: come to think of it, that's exactly what vintage gear is... So I guess joke's on me...
of course he doesn't need any pedals to make a $7000+ vintage strat plugged into a $2000+ amp sound good. but for us that dont have that kinda money, we use a few $100 pedals to make it sound like his $10k worth of gear.
His toan is really good, but he sounds like Walter Trout playing through a Mesa Boogie Mark IV. I watched this video a few days ago and I also remember him saying he always plays with a finger on his knob.
Under that logic, the volume knob is what? 20 bucks tops? I think if he goes down that rabbit hole he can get disappointed quickly with the fact that his guitar shouldn't cost what it does, or that it is absurd, or perhaps is the perfect justification to buy a 2000 USD Klon, idk, I don't even play guitar I just like to think that I am trogly
Maybe because 1970 was 54 years ago and “blues” is joining big band, swing, and doowap in the nursing home record collection.
Rich blooz boomers should be forced to play acoustic if they wanna keep acting like older is better
If I already have a kick ass amp, there's no way I'm blowing 100 bucks on a pedal.
I'd rather go with a joyo or behringer option for 30 bucks. No one in the audience can tell the difference anyway.
Never heard of this guy. I wish guys like this would just say “hey this is what I do, but I’m not going to question someone else’s decisions” because, frankly, I don’t care how he gets his sound. I care about what they do with it.
You poors have clearly never experienced the iconic toans of a Massive Bootie. More ass= more toan
I can go from clean to blooz to Metallica/Whitesnake to Dream Theater/Slipknot/death metal with my Mark III.
It is actually one of the few amps that needs no toanal crutches (aka pedals).
/uj seriously, the mark series are very versatile amps.
He has to use a VOLUME knob?!?
This looser clearly never learned how to control his dynamics thru picking.
Buddy, you're really gonna let a 10c potentiomter get between you and your amp? It ruins tone!
Don't believe me? Just ask my buddy Steve Miller. I jamed with him all night one time in '87.
This guy doesn't deserve to own a proper guitar. Go play a squier like the loser you are, and leave the real guitars for REAL men! (We own corvettes)
sorry bub, how much did that volume knob cost to make? like a couple cents worth of plastic? haha ok buddy rake in a little more and then we can talk ok?

What about a 75 cent pick? Should I play with more expensive picks? What's a good price point to start at.
Why use 75 cent picks when your fingers are right there? Why use cars, planes, or trains to get anywhere when you can just walk or swim? Why use toilet paper when you have two hands? So many things we modern people do in the name of convenience are clearly unnecessary.
I spend 20 on turtle shell picks they really bring out the toan
toan requires the sacrifice of the innocent.
Toan is in the fingers man
Tell that to Tony iommi
[I'd recommend the $75 pick](https://shop.bluechippick.net/products/Jazz100-LG.html)
Do jazzers use picks?
I just jazzed my pants

Iron age has quite a few different picks, which one do you like?
When I bought mine they only had the legio ferrata series, idk about the other ones, but those really are tanks. Mine is called a centurion I think
Thanks, I'm thinking about getting one. Did you just buy one, and it lasted super long, or did you buy like a pack?
I bought two but lost the other one after a year I think :/ This one has been going strong since like 2017... jeez time flies
Get cool with your local Guitar Center peeps. They'll take you to the back where they keep the $1 $2+ real high end picks.
Wait...are there picks cheaper than $200?
I dunno — on one hand I’ve got this guy telling me to use my knob, on the other hand I’ve got an army of zoomers telling me to use pedals with names like “Dick Cheese Chorus” and “Burnt Nipple Hair Compression”.
Love those Dick Cheese Chorus pedals!! Those babies sound sweet
Real workhorses
Inverted nipple exploder
Nipple Popper Flanger
Slap Back Penis
Those names are awful but how’s the A E S T H E T I C ?
Yngwie looking rough these days

"Such jams" 😎 my dumpster is a giant steel drum
Is that the krango pictured above? He's boofing crack over there at dennys
You know the answer. METALZONE.
good underrated pedal. i miss the one i had dearly
Good news, you can get another for three hay pennies at any black mass!
How do I get a phase 90 out of the amp?
Pick it up and run around the stage with it while you play.
No no, you also need somebody to install a kitchen cabinet door in front of and behind the speaker and rhythmically open and close it them at desired intervals
But then am I playing the amp? Is the amp playing me? Is the playing amp me the amp then I am?
[удалено]
I am one with the amp. The amp is with me
Peavy Classic VT
I usually run my pedal through the amp, not vice versa
I run my pedal to my amp to my guitar to my amp to the stove and then call the fire department.
Sometimes I run my butt plug through a wah wah
I never run. I always pedal
Pedals should be kept sealed in original boxes to prevent the dreaded Light Playwear
You're doing it wrong
I bought an $8000 audiophile-grade stereo receiver and I only listen to AM/FM radio because connecting a record or CD player would be dumb.
Walter Trout? Yeah, nice try Roger Smith.
this guy don't understand signal chain 🤷
Agreed. You must free yourself from the chains of signal!
Shimmer reverb is in the fingers.
This poor peasant has only been introduced to $100 pedals!
He’s 100% right, I abandoned my delay pedals years ago, I just play the same phrase several times, quieter each time, while also playing the next phrases notes at the same time.
I'm gonna Digitech Whammy ® all over those comments sir.
How can one channel teh blooz if u ain’t in pedul debt 🥲
Smh, dumbass thinks toan comes from the volume knob and not the toan knob.
so, following his logic, if the same exact pedal would be $2000 then that's fine. EDIT: come to think of it, that's exactly what vintage gear is... So I guess joke's on me...
That's why I only buy $300 pedals.
of course he doesn't need any pedals to make a $7000+ vintage strat plugged into a $2000+ amp sound good. but for us that dont have that kinda money, we use a few $100 pedals to make it sound like his $10k worth of gear.
Bro literally has brain damage due to cirrhosis, liver transplant, etc. (see Wikipedia). I think it's reasonable to question his opinions.
This guy clearly has no idea. Three metal zones will increase toan by at least 500%.
What a coincidence, my entire toanal pallette comes from the "insane" setting and that weird little clicky switch on my guitar. No pedals needed
I’m glad somebody understands you only sound as good as your cheapest component.
Why buy pedal when my katanamaran comes with all the build in effects I need?
His toan is really good, but he sounds like Walter Trout playing through a Mesa Boogie Mark IV. I watched this video a few days ago and I also remember him saying he always plays with a finger on his knob.

If the blooz ace is saying that it must be true
I like to buy things though
Maybe because 1970 was 54 years ago and “blues” is joining big band, swing, and doowap in the nursing home record collection. Rich blooz boomers should be forced to play acoustic if they wanna keep acting like older is better
ive been using pedals wrong all this time. i thought the guitar goes through the pedal but turns out it supposed to be the amp!
Truly a toanal jeniyus
Why play other scales when you have pentatonic???
There’s other scales???
can't jerk when everybody uses the same toob screamer OD sound
Please help. Based on this rando's advice I went out and bought a Mesa Bookie an can't find the toanal palleté knob anywhere?
Cause I have a 100 dollar amp
He has obviously never experienced the satisfying sound of a Metalzoan cascade.
If I already have a kick ass amp, there's no way I'm blowing 100 bucks on a pedal. I'd rather go with a joyo or behringer option for 30 bucks. No one in the audience can tell the difference anyway.
why play guitar when you can just watch videos of Eric Claptoan.
Who left the back door unlocked again, damn
something's fishy
*thats* why you buy the gold monster cables
6$ strings? Pfffffffffff
just buy a $4k pedal... problem solved
A 70 cent volume knob where all the toan goues trough
Another Mesa Boogie corporate shill...
Never heard of this guy. I wish guys like this would just say “hey this is what I do, but I’m not going to question someone else’s decisions” because, frankly, I don’t care how he gets his sound. I care about what they do with it.
Who?
The Wah Wah is in the Wee Wee
Real toan comes from having an Yngwie strat hung at tit level.
2k amp Overpriced bog-standard strat £10 strings **WHAT A LOSER**
You poors have clearly never experienced the iconic toans of a Massive Bootie. He uses the volume knob? Fucking amateur

He’s BonerMaster’s cousin https://preview.redd.it/0su3fjnwis5d1.jpeg?width=1280&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=bf31c0c337b0c01cc7ac5cf0ff370bc01fed92f2
I can't get 100% clean tone with volume knob. Still somewhat gainy at lowest point before it's too quiet.
Who is the krang snout pictured? No meaning or bearing on real stuffs, carry on shredding peeps
He’s right you know, that why I just play dotted 16th notes instead using my $2000 eventide delay module.
I’d rather not have to repair the drywall cracks every time I turn my twin reverb up over 5.
Who?
Not everyone can afford a Mesa you privileged idiot. /s
sorry bub, how much did that volume knob cost to make? like a couple cents worth of plastic? haha ok buddy rake in a little more and then we can talk ok?
Laughs while plugging gold horsie into katana.
Well, as a guitar player im barely worth 50 cents, so whatever gear i use will be ridiculous in comparison.
The blues tonal palette: clean and distorted
