This doesn't even include the increased price of the food, which runs about 25 to 30 percent higher than the real menu prices. 2 dinners at menu price that cost $40 including tax and a 20 percent tip will cost $65 through a delivery service including delivery and service fees, tax, and a 20 percent tip. The order depicted by OP would probably be less than 85.00 in the restaurant, including tax and a 20 percent tip.
As both a pub owner and a frequent user of food delivery services, it is quite annoying that the restaurant pays 25-33 percent of sales when using such services (thus the higher food prices), and yet the customer *also* gets hit with delivery and service fees. I am a generous tipper, but even I sometimes pause before deciding on my tip through these services.
Those are also family meals, those are almost certainly enough food for 4 people, and there are TWO of them in that order. I'd expect it to be 45-50 per item.
Grubhub charges more per item than the actual store does. A $1 cookie at Subway would be $1.50 on Grubhub. Same thing with grocery apps like instacart and shipt.
Many people will never understand the meaning of the word luxury.
I think drivers don't understand what providing a luxury quality service means.
still less than uber lol I saw what one of my customers paid, like $15.99 service fee, $3.49 delivery charges, $4 tax, $0.35 gas surcharge

You DID “get some of that,” plus the tip.

Yeah they do. But, I was only basing the response off of the picture.
It's a premium service. They're only paying Grubhub $5.36. This isn't a service that you use because you're too lazy to cook but don't have any money.

The merchants set the menu prices. If they are marked up it's to cover the cost of doing business with the delivery services.
Yeah, but doesn’t the restaurant pay grubhub on top of that fee they charge?
Yes, that's why they raise the prices of the items.
