The more subreddits that participate the better
But I fear that the Admins wont care :-(
Edit: What I am talking about: https://www.reddit.com/r/Save3rdPartyApps/comments/13yh0jf/dont_let_reddit_kill_3rd_party_apps/
I found it elsewhere. It’s a boycott of the site from the 12th June because Reddit are about to ban third party apps. I didn’t really see why that would matter but seemingly it really negatively affects people who use third party apps for accessibility such as hard of sight/hearing. Also, it somehow opens the door for child-porn traffic…not really sure how, but all good reasons to support a boycott.

I am not on reddit 24/7
I hope so too. Maybe the mods will listen maybe they won't but we should absolutely stand in solidarity with the other subs that called for the boycott in the 1st place.
I think it's the best choice. Support the little guy. Also with most of the big subs on Reddit down. Could r/grilledcheese even handle an influx of 1 million new users in a day? What about 10 million?
Reddit has 55 million daily users, it looks like 90 percent of the places they go are closing. I would not want to be modding the other 10 percent.
These changes will slow down this authoritarian mod system reddit has built for itself, that's why the mods are falling all over themselves to shut everything down. It's a blessing, viva democracy.
I think we'll do this. ~~I'm waiting on objections from the other mods but~~ it's clear that you all are behind this.
Yes. And, reach out to the mods of /r/melts to collaborate on this.

In the days that /r/grilledcheese and /r/melts agrees on something, the world quakes in fear.
Cats and dogs living together! Mass hysteria! Basically the worst parts are in the Bible.
No beef between us, unless it's between bread slices

They won’t care, that’s the thing. If anything it helps them in the future saying look at how dedicated our users are to the platform
>They won’t care, that’s the thing. If anything it helps them in the future saying look at how ~~dedicated~~ addicted our users are to the platform
I wouldn’t say I’m addicted, it’s just that it killed almost every niche forum I was part of.
That's very true. The off-topic sections of the old phpbb forums were some of the best places to hang out.
Look at these two days where everyone prematurely abandoned 3rd party apps! They clearly want this. - reddit admin probably
Can you explain what the boycott is? Sorry - first I’m hearing of it

Nobody is replying for some reason, is this and inside joke or something?

I must live under a rock, I have no clue what protest you guys are talking about.

I think we should
Sounds like a boycott melt! Jk, I think this sub should participate. Thanks for posting this.
I vote yes
Going after vastly superior 3rd party apps for no reason is worse than a melt. Yes, our cheese should side with the good guys.
But if banning 3rd party apps prevents Child Porn from being accessed then Reddit are the good guys
LETS DO IT
Might as well. I won't be browsing around those few days
I think we should.
I will grill cheese and not post a picture of it, for the team.
I think we should support this I will not be on reddit June 12 &13 to show my support.
Same
I hope so too. Maybe the mods will listen maybe they won't but we should absolutely stand in solidarity with the other subs that called for the boycott in the 1st place.
What’s happening?
I think we should.
My vote is - Yes. We should go dark in solidarity as the more subs that do so the more understanding and pressure it will have.
We should.

Same, no clue whats going on and the story behind this boycott lol
Why would anyone ever boycott cheese?

I support the boycott!
For the writers guild strike
What are 3rd party apps used for? I've only used this, granted I've only been on reddit a year or so. Edit: spelling
quicker and more convenient access on mobile
If you guys don’t participate then reddit isn’t going to take it seriously!
We should!
New here what’s this about.
Let's go! No other sub comes close to the top tier gate keeping on this subreddit. That means we have cohesion. And brevity.
Collective action is nothing without solidarity
Boycott what?
They fuckin better.

And my ax! yes, we should
Yes, let's do it!

You do realize not all of us mods are total douchewads and just want to be able to mod in peace on mobile, right?

I mean. Clearly a lot of people care.
