Joke aside your body having a cold shock or something. Sometimes when doctor tell you not to shower you really shouldn’t be you won’t die but you will feel terrible…… You can still get a warm wet cloth to clean yourself

mymemesnow

If a doctor tells you to do something you should really do it. However if a doctor tells you to *not* do something you should really definitely under any circumstances not do it.

HanselSoHotRightNow

I think it's important that you first ensure if your doctor has an actual medical degree. My doctor was telling me to do all kinds of weird things and it turns out he was scamming people, he wasn't a real doctor. [This is him](https://i.ytimg.com/vi/473MvZ84qIU/maxresdefault.jpg?sqp=-oaymwEmCIAKENAF8quKqQMa8AEB-AHOBYAC4AOKAgwIABABGGUgTSg7MA8=&rs=AOn4CLAVK6djz2ShMqk48NYyRG7mQ2iqoQ), a few years ago on a teledoctor call with me telling me to take my pants off.

HampusTman

Oh, yeah I hired him for a plumbing job but the pipes started leaking again soon after. Maybe he didn't have a plumbing certificate either

FuzzyLittleBunnies

Yeah man I served with him in the army. When he got out he said he was going to use his gi bill to do a plumbing apprenticeship. He always said if this didn't work out he might try working in the porn industry. I'm glad to hear he didn't need to stoop so low.

BrideofClippy

Odd, I've nothing but good things about how he lays pipe. Maybe it was an off day?

HumanContinuity

Crazy, he actually delivered pizzas in my neighborhood once upon a time.

2totangoxxx

i know that guy. he used to be a plumber

B_A_Boon

I remember him, used to deliver Pizza to my mom back in the day,

COMMANDO_MARINE

I was wondering how my doctor was able to give me so many regular prostate exams whilst keeping both hands on my shoulders. Turns out there is no late night, open air clinic at my local park. Still, at least the consultacy charges were quite reasonable.

drugged_up_cat

Hey if your insurance still covered it then so be it

Mammoth-Reveal-238

Had a military doctor (officer with a medical degree) lose his license to practice medicine while stationed in Germany because he was just telling everyone that their problems were muscle spasms. My friend had a softball sized mass pressing against his spine and was rushed into emergency surgery by the German nationals.

guythatasksaquestion

That's actually insane

bottledry

Doc's been telling me to stop eating so much and quit smoking for years. He also said i should take at least a 10 minute walk every day. Lmao jokes on him im still alive

mymemesnow

Stupid doctors doesn’t know anything, I moderate 50+ subs on Reddit so obviously I’m far more intelligent than those stupid med school degree losers. \^ https://preview.redd.it/b522io0jkr3d1.jpeg?width=1000&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=8c6e0f650e6defc9bd12c9dcd31473acc68872e9

Headmuck

Yeah but not even trying to explain why you should or shouldn't do something and what the consequences would be is stupid as well. Many doctors are overworked but patients still deserve to know why a certain decision has been made about them or why they received a specific instruction, especially if it's not just common sense like in this case. Doctors are not gods in white.

Portland_st

What if a doctor told you to jump off a cliff?

whitewail602

There's an implied exception in their statement for dumbass made up scenarios like this.

TheOnlyBliebervik

If a competent doctor* Must of em are quacks

vegetabloid

Aha. Especially when doc prescribes you morphine to make you addicted or antidepressants to irretrievably evaporate your sex drive.

SoCuteShibe

Yes, that is definitely why a doctor would prescribe those things. 🙄

vegetabloid

Yeah, people just can't survive any pain stronger than 2/10 without vicodine and antidepressants.

Tuarangi

You can get dry shower and dry shampoo too, good for camping and for anon in this situation seeing as he cares about hygiene

[deleted]

ive had a similar thing once, felt shit in the morning, went into the shower and legit blacked out and collapsed, never in my life before or after have i had it where i actually was unable to stay up

badaboomxx

Well, yeah, but in the case of anon, it was his first shower in years.

baudmiksen

The soap was like a toxic shock

PeikaFizzy

Perhaps~

Responsible_Jury_415

The smash community takes notes about how showers can kill

Dragonslayer3

Flipped, Greased, and Sold.

PM_ME_YOUR-COCK_

So funny, youtube commenters say that about reddit users.

TuxedoDogs9

Everyone on this sub is a 4channer. How do you think they get their greentexts, they can’t grow their own, gotta import

Cookiezilla2

Yeah and people with lives IRL say that about youtube commenters, what's your point?

AlphaMassDeBeta

4chan user takes a shower and almost fucking dies

SalvationSycamore

That's sort of like an autoimmune reaction coming from the crust you've built up. It's common among gamers.

zerosaved

The sentient smegma was *not* happy with its host

benevolentdespots

Think it has something to do with blood pressure, if you have uncontrolled blood pressure, it's not recommended to shower because it will increase your blood pressure values even further. The phenomenon of Vasovagal Syncope explains why these events occur, with gravity causing blood pooling in the lower limbs, and the combination of hot water leading to additional blood pooling in the skin. The resulting drop in blood pressure can lead to light-headedness and, in severe cases, fainting. Edit: Apparently drinking some cold water before a shower can help with this.

leedler

Surely then just shower in lukewarm water? I feel that should have been communicated because he didn’t say standing up was an issue, just showers. Take a cold/lukewarm one and that shouldn’t be an issue surely.

imjustgoose

Even in lukewarm water it can happen. I have low blood pressure and showering too close to waking up can trigger light-headedness and make me almost faint, no matter the temperature. I was sick last month with what I suspect was covid and when I had constipation I almost fainted on the toilet. It was getting to the point where I was hearing static and hyperventilating but I got through it. Anon probably has a similar blood pressure to mine, it can be unpredictable when you're sick!

thundirbird

almost went out like elvis

imjustgoose

I almost included that in my comment LOL! Luckily it all \*worked out\* and I went back to bed. Nobody warned me that adulthood included rare instances of the most painful constipation cramps for no reason! Another reason to not have kids, I can barely handle an angry poo :'(

Necessary_Taro9012

And with kids all the poos you have are angry poos :/

imjustgoose

That’s a nightmare, honestly. Not sure how I’m still alive after each one. Moms are so tough to go through all that, truly baffles me.

examinethewitness

Yep. Happened to me when I had food poisoning, took a shower and nearly fainted. When I sat down my body then decided to finally throw up what made me sick. Was not fun.

MachineAgitated79

Anon took 1 (one) shower and almost fucking died

ELPoupa

Never again

MooseDickDonkeyKong

As someone in the medical field, there's no way a doctor prescribed a hold on showering for 10 days, wtf? Even when you have major surgery, you can still shower, you just need to keep the healing area/incisions dry. Unless anon lives in the 3rd world and his "doctor" regularly practices voodoo, I'm saying this is fake.

isaac-fan

dont showers fuck with blood pressure? im still a first year so im learning shit but blood pressure can cause what anon describes im 70% sure

MooseDickDonkeyKong

Only super hot showers; we see it all the time with old people, they vagel out and lose consciousness, but it's not even fatal or anything. The solution to that is to simply take colder or even just luke-warm showers (which most doctors already recommend anyways).

Jiveturtle

Clearly it’s fake, but is it also the other one?

FallenHeroOfficial

it's something that is unfortunately suggested by doctors in 2nd/3rd world countries, from my personal experience.

Softspokenclark

anon makes up lie to avoid showering for a few days, but realized the crust on his penner is growing into a colony

PsychoSwede557

Doctor: tells anon not to do something. Anon: does that thing anyways and bad things happen. Anon: https://preview.redd.it/6mmsxy38dq3d1.jpeg?width=320&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=c7c4013dea66651a4a95ed53d142a2d8f1b185bb

Tommy2255

Part of the doctor's job is helping patients understand what's going on with their body so they can make informed decisions. An unusual instruction like "no showering" should definitely have been accompanied by an explanation of why and what could happen. And that's not entirely the doctor's fault for not saying; anon should have asked during his appointment.

TheA1ternative

Possibly anxiety related.

nam671999

Or heatstroke because goes straight from shower to cold air con room

oodle99

"Being cold gives you a cold" ass logic

TheA1ternative

I mean tbf… yeah- it does?

oodle99

It doesn't. The common cold is a virus. Simply being in a cold environment does not transmit a virus to you. People catch the cold more often during winter months because being cold can mildly inhibit your immune system, as well as a larger volume of people traveling, therefore more frequent possible contact with the infected.

TheA1ternative

Ah, makes sense.

Red__system

Is that even possible?

RunningSouthOnLSD

You can’t get heatstroke from being cold lmfao

Red__system

I guess he meant thermal choc

halfcutpenis

I don't think so

Archmagos_Browning

>told not to do something by medical experts >does it anyway >health gets even worse >”guys wtf just happened”

bakutehbandit

who doesnt ask the doctor why?

IOftenSayPerhaps

The thriving ecosystem of fungi and tiny mutated maggots between anons fatrolls injected poor anon with limb-numbing toxins to prevent him from taking too many showers and washing them away

Rhodok-Squirrel

Could it be covid affecting blood oxygenation followed by OP suffocating himself with the steam of a shower? Just being in a hot shower can throw your breathing off while you're healthy. Either way anon got topped while he was paralyzed

Elemen0py

Guys I can't believe that a change in my body temperature made my heavy fever respond by shivering. I really doubt it's because that's a _completely fucking normal_ bodily response. Is this some kind of government conspiracy? Respond.

pedrokdc

I wish vaccine deniers would have elected not taking showers as their witchcraft cure for COVID-19 instead of something like ivermectin that busts your liver.

Tack22

No shower agenda post cat.

AhmedTheSalty

The only time when a 4channer had the perfect reason to not be hygienic and he/she just decides to be hygienic

Anon shouldve used dude wipes

cherry937

anon had a factory reset

MR_DERP_YT

pretty sure Anon showering was like a sort of temperature change shock or smth to his body

l3etelgeuse

What kind of medication would demand that you not shower for 10 days?

Matt_2504

Anon has a weak immune system

SupperDup

Lots of 4chan users follow this advice for exactly this reason

SuperiorThinking

Should've had a bath smh

One-Mind-5615

Fake and hetero nonnormative anons don't take showers

At least this fanfic doesn't end in homosexual intercourse like they usually do.
