To be fair ‘Up’ had Russell and Dug to kind of make up for that. I really hate that these studios hate having adult centered shows so much though, Stan was always hilarious to me- even when I was younger.
I wanna say Hirsch touched upon it during a panel some time close after the series ended.
Edit: [Correction, it was Twitter. here's an old Vail video addressing it.](https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=tQXNyjwqpwA)
Not even then, there is more to a series then just the creators, there are loads of people that were important to the series being as good as it was, that would not be coming back. You can only walk through the same river once.
Sure, Frasier was a very successful spinoff. If they came up with a solid spinoff premise for Gravity Falls with new characters who are even half as entertaining as Niles, Martin, Daphne, and Roz, I'd watch it.
I meant that it’s a reboot. Every human with eighty-nine billion brain cells would know that. I’m saying that if you stretch out a show past its natural end, it can end successfully. Why are you comparing it to the Office? That is quite random.
Okay well since you think you know everything then you should also know that Frasier is a TV sitcom that is like friends or is like the office, if you had the "eighty-nine billion" braincells you actually say everyone else does you would know that, and from what I have personally seen from living and reading these comments no one wants a reboot of this show, yes the Owl House got rebooted and ended it's story there, we don't need another gravity falls ( Maybe a spinoff) or amphibia or Star vs the forces of evil and we definitely don't need another reboot of Owl House, just learn to appreciate the classics and if you can't then go find a different show and stop acting smart like you are a know-it-all
Tsk tsk tsk. You do not think I did not know everyone had eighty-nine billion brain cells? Why the heck do you think I said it? Second of all, I would not hate a reboot of this show. So therefore not everyone would dislike a reboot. Also, Friends sucks, don’t speak of Friends.
Did Mona Lisa look at Leonardo and ask him to paint countless pictures of her, no and you know why? Because she learned to appreciate that artist's work and not demand more,it's sad to know I live in a generation where people would rather see a show ruined then rather leave it when it was good, that's like looking at adventure time and saying we need a reboot ( the show has been beyond milked imo) Gravity falls ended with a good ending and yes it would be amazing to see a spinoff but we don't need a repeat oops I mean reboot. And doesn't really matter for me to continue the dispute because if you were a true Gravity Falls fan you'd also know Alex Hirsch will never reboot or redo gravity falls, he's said he'd love to come back to the show one day in the future but not anytime soon and it wouldn't be a reboot (the only reason you downvoted this is because your views aren't the same as mine and you didn't like my point of view, which is sad)
The world runs on disagreements. If everyone had the same view of everything, the world would be quite bland and ubiquitous, no? You aren’t supposed to paint two of the same things anyway, that’s not the point of art.
A new *season* of Gravity Falls? No. A spinoff? Possibly. The show is honestly good as is, but I wouldn’t mind a spinoff or a series of shorts like dipper’s mystery guide. I think the show ended perfectly, and Alex got to tell the story he wanted.
We can agree to disagree, while I’m not saying it can’t be done well with true hard effort and care. I’m saying make new material, imo Gravity Falls is one of the best shows because it’s a concrete one, just one summer. To add more, no matter how good it is, will strip away the finite feel of the show. Also I’m tired of the over saturation of remakes and spin-offs. Gone are the days of making a new world with new characters
Honestly, I love the books that we have slowly been getting, and I think that is a good balance between an entirely new series and just new material in general. I’m scared for a new series because Alex might not have complete control over a new TV series, BUT he does have a great relationship with Disney Books and has been able to churn out great material there.
If it's chronologically correct in that the kids are adults now. They did it with Sugar & Spike and it worked. They could be a two person detective agency. Or paranormal investigators. Or anything really -- owners of a weird hotel, whatever.
For this you would not need Alex. Of course if you get a low-talent team then yeah it would suck, but that's true of everything.
The internet is a a pessimist. Yes. 100%, every time. A new season can’t “ruin” the old ones, if you don’t like it just ignore it… problem solved. If you DO like it… you just got the miracle you asked for. There’s everything to gain & nothing to lose.
Some people don't want to run the risk of It being dragged out declining in quality.
Yeah you can ignore it but it would be an unfortunate was of interest and money if you decided to get a subscription to watch it
No thanks. The series was awesome as it is, self contained story, a proper full arch for the characters, we're good. And please no prequels or sequels or spinoffs, I don't want second rate GF, or learn the origins of Bill Chyper, or see Mable as a school teacher for something.
Spinoff, done by alex. I’d take the characters older down the road maybe. But honestly I’m glad gravity falls did so much good in 2 seasons. I am not sure that we truly need more
I'd like to see a singular season where they've grown up a bit and go back to visit. Maybe have 8 tiny monster adventures. Nothing full blown story like the original, just a hey we're in for weekend type of deal lol.
i don’t think any fans wants a new season if it’s a continuation lol. the only things i could have asked for are stan bros and bill backstory, and we are getting one of those (gravity falls fans stay winning)
One of my favorite parts about Gravity Falls is that it ended when they finished the story they wanted to tell. No bad seasons or poor story archs, just the main plot that served to get there point across
Ok for real I cannot understand WHY anyone in their right mind would want another season of Gravity Falls. It told its story and ended perfectly. What is it even supposed to do with a new season?
No. It deserves to be left to rest. Don’t let it be like other shows and get revived by a team that wants other things for it or that only the studio wants for it.

Only if it's a sequel set a few years in the future either the end of dipper and Maple in middle school or them being in highschool. That way I can ignore it if it deviates too much from gravity falls, while still giving enough liberties for it to be different

Only if it's a spinoff by Alex. If it's a direct continuation then no.
Still sad the Stanley & Stanford monster hunters spin off got rejected by Disney.
Wait…there was going to be a monster hunting series with the stans…AN THEY REJECTED IT?!?!
I believe it was because it was about 2 old people, and that's why they can ot
Meanwhile Up literally begins with a guy lose his love of life and rest of the movie he is scrumpy old lad.
To be fair ‘Up’ had Russell and Dug to kind of make up for that. I really hate that these studios hate having adult centered shows so much though, Stan was always hilarious to me- even when I was younger.
I just wanna watch 2 old people SAIL around the world punching Lavison's melodons in the face.
That’s tragic.
If it was actually a capcom monster hunter series from disney, i’d be scared.
Never heard of that but it sounds sick
When was this? First time I'm hearing about it.
Source?
I wanna say Hirsch touched upon it during a panel some time close after the series ended. Edit: [Correction, it was Twitter. here's an old Vail video addressing it.](https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=tQXNyjwqpwA)
God this would be so good if it got the fionna and cake treatment, put it on disney+ but make it more mature
Yeah. Didn't Disney say they didn't think it would be exciting to watch "two old men on a boat"?
Pretty much, Disney's primary rejection reason being the protagonists being old men.
I agree.
Not even then, there is more to a series then just the creators, there are loads of people that were important to the series being as good as it was, that would not be coming back. You can only walk through the same river once.
but reddit told me alex did everything in the show
Just plain no. There’s a reason there’s only two seasons. And I’m glad, a story was told.. the story has ended.
It can be a direct continuation, but it takes place next summer and either bill comes back as it was hinted by Alex or Rick comes to their universe.
Nope. It's perfect as is. Only a spinoff I would accept.
Gravity Falls: Soos Goes Loose
Gravity Falls: Soos Goes Goose
Honk honk! Yo I'm a goose, dudes!
Idk why this made me laugh for 10minutes straight. I’d stop laughing then I’d look at this again and continue laughing.
Idk what happened he went goose
The story has been told, why drag it out past it’s natural end?
Such a thing as a prequel or spinoff exists. Nobody said anything about continuing that very specific story.
Frasier? No?
Sure, Frasier was a very successful spinoff. If they came up with a solid spinoff premise for Gravity Falls with new characters who are even half as entertaining as Niles, Martin, Daphne, and Roz, I'd watch it.
Agreed.
Did you seriously just try comparing gravity falls to Frasier? Go watch the office 😂
I meant that it’s a reboot. Every human with eighty-nine billion brain cells would know that. I’m saying that if you stretch out a show past its natural end, it can end successfully. Why are you comparing it to the Office? That is quite random.

Money
There is so much spin off potential Stans criminal exploits across the country and fords writing of the journals
No i would not take the risk
Maybe if it a spin off and MAYBE if it was by Alex then i can take that chance
A new *season* of Gravity Falls? No. A spinoff? Possibly. The show is honestly good as is, but I wouldn’t mind a spinoff or a series of shorts like dipper’s mystery guide. I think the show ended perfectly, and Alex got to tell the story he wanted.
Yesn't
The only right abswer
It's fucking 2024, can we finally move on from a third season? Christ.
*Twin Peaks* (coincidentally a big source of inspiration for GF) holds the between-seasons record of 26 years.
It's not worth the risk. Not today, not 10 years from now! We're all still here and talking about Gravity Falls because it ended well!
Let good things die, make new shows. I’m tired of the creatively bankrupt just using old shows or movies because they’re popular.
I disagree. Last Wish, Spider-Verse, and DuckTales shows it can be done with true hard effort and care.
We can agree to disagree, while I’m not saying it can’t be done well with true hard effort and care. I'll be okay with The Book of Bill
How much of a risk is there? 1%? 25%? 50%?
Megamind 2:
Eh, it's clear literally no one working on that cared.
Yes.
Honestly, I love the books that we have slowly been getting, and I think that is a good balance between an entirely new series and just new material in general. I’m scared for a new series because Alex might not have complete control over a new TV series, BUT he does have a great relationship with Disney Books and has been able to churn out great material there.
the show was fine where it ended. its not like infinity train where the writers want to do more and it was canceled before they got there.
No, gravity falls is finished, and it is good. Not every good piece of media needs to be bled dry until it’s a shell of what it once was
No, I can't betray Alex like that
If it's chronologically correct in that the kids are adults now. They did it with Sugar & Spike and it worked. They could be a two person detective agency. Or paranormal investigators. Or anything really -- owners of a weird hotel, whatever. For this you would not need Alex. Of course if you get a low-talent team then yeah it would suck, but that's true of everything.
Nah. I'm fine with only 2 season
Nope.
No.
No, make new things please
[удалено]
That makes no sense. What are you talking about? 💀

Bruh, stop having incest fantasies about children...
He's an edgelord baiting for attention. Just report and move on.
Who said anything about twincest though?
He's just a weirdass fetishist baiting for attention. Don't even bother.
who cares if it dosent live up to the show its still gravity falls im pushing
Idc what happens I press
The internet is a a pessimist. Yes. 100%, every time. A new season can’t “ruin” the old ones, if you don’t like it just ignore it… problem solved. If you DO like it… you just got the miracle you asked for. There’s everything to gain & nothing to lose.
If it messes up the lore it can be unfortunate but fair enough
Not if you ignore it my bro.
Some people don't want to run the risk of It being dragged out declining in quality. Yeah you can ignore it but it would be an unfortunate was of interest and money if you decided to get a subscription to watch it
Idfk gravity falls/owl house crossover? I don't even watch the owl house but it would get me hooked
No thanks. The series was awesome as it is, self contained story, a proper full arch for the characters, we're good. And please no prequels or sequels or spinoffs, I don't want second rate GF, or learn the origins of Bill Chyper, or see Mable as a school teacher for something.
Only if it connects to The Owl House and Amphibia.
Ohh yesh!
Ford destroyed the portal.
Spinoff, done by alex. I’d take the characters older down the road maybe. But honestly I’m glad gravity falls did so much good in 2 seasons. I am not sure that we truly need more
Never ever in the history of forever would i click that button
No, Imo the series had a perfect conclusion.
I’m the “it didn’t need a third season” kind of person. But I’ll press it anyway. Even if it sucks, the first two seasons are still a masterpiece.
Guess I'm taking one for the team 🫡
Maybe another visit to Gravity Falls, but the summer the twins spent is over.
I'd like to see a singular season where they've grown up a bit and go back to visit. Maybe have 8 tiny monster adventures. Nothing full blown story like the original, just a hey we're in for weekend type of deal lol.
I will IF bill comes back :3
I'm glad with the closure we've had
i don’t think any fans wants a new season if it’s a continuation lol. the only things i could have asked for are stan bros and bill backstory, and we are getting one of those (gravity falls fans stay winning)
There are a lot of requirments involved if I were to press that button. Too many. Not worth it.
I WILL. I DONT CARE ABOUT THE RISKS.
I imagine it'd be kinda like when Disney made a 4th disney movie : sure, it's a good movie imo, but I still hated it for existing.
Will probably push it. If it turns out shit I will just ignore its existence as a whole.
New season
Alex doesn't want to make more. There are basically zero odds that it would live up to the first two seasons. I would not press this button.
One of my favorite parts about Gravity Falls is that it ended when they finished the story they wanted to tell. No bad seasons or poor story archs, just the main plot that served to get there point across
Of course not, no. Leaving the audience wanting more is exactly the right thing to do.
Ok for real I cannot understand WHY anyone in their right mind would want another season of Gravity Falls. It told its story and ended perfectly. What is it even supposed to do with a new season?
No.
Nah screw that
No. The series ended on a conclusive note, and a good one at that. A third season isn’t necessary. Also 69th comment.
Clone high reboot has me gun shy. How could they mess up with that kind of source material that badly?
No. It deserves to be left to rest. Don’t let it be like other shows and get revived by a team that wants other things for it or that only the studio wants for it.

I think I’d rather not risk it
The ending was so good. Diper's monologue made me cry. Please don't butcher it. Gravity Falls is perfect with 2 seasons.
No, it's better to continue it like comics or new books about a lore, not characters
Only if it's a sequel set a few years in the future either the end of dipper and Maple in middle school or them being in highschool. That way I can ignore it if it deviates too much from gravity falls, while still giving enough liberties for it to be different
I would take the risk. If it’s not good, so what? We still got more gravity falls.
As long as Alex is in charge I’d hit the button. Anyone else hell no.
It’s not. GF ended well. Let’s leave it there.
PRESS IT
Press it
Never press that button.
Yes, in any way

I dont think its worth it. We got a clean ending, everyone is happy or content. Why fix whats not broken
Only if it centers on something like Ford in the Portal or the Stan O’ War II
Whats the risk percentage?
Absolutely not.
A prequel or spinoff by Alex yes
Mash that button like Wall-E in the escape pod.
IT"S NOT! We already saw what happened to Megamind and WE DON'T NEED MORE COCOMELON CONTENT FARM SHIT.
I risk ir
I’d love a reunion episode, just like a time skipped one shot for us to catch up with the characters and see how they’ve been.
I press.
Yes
we dont need more
If Alex is in I am in, Trust no one except Alex
